Hard to really analyze that. We created plenty even with 10 men but Palace had a few chances on the break. Nunez was awful and I'm sick of seeing Milner start for us. We should've moved on from relying on him by now. Phillips was poor and some other players had mixed nights. Van Dijk didn't have a good game.

Elliot was decent in spells and Diaz after he scored was very good.

Nunez was horrendous up until he did himself a favor and got himself sent off. Two very different performances from him so far.

Liverpool win that game with Mane.

They'll feel his loss this season.
Quite underrated. I'd keep him over Salah.

But their bigger issue is most of their midfield is old now or crocked, and they've spent £80m on a striker that's the complete antithesis to Firmino.

It’s easy to come off the bench and look great when the other team is tired and there is more space. But to start a game is a totally different ball game. Nunez maybe your new Origi!

Absolute scenes when Haaland gets subbed off at half time every game, Nunez spends half the season suspended / in police custody, and Jesus romps home to top scorer securing the title in a dazzling unbeaten season for Arteta’s gunners.

Winning the title on the final day against Pep’s City which inexplicably started Mahrez at CB and Ederson at holding midfielder in the title decider.

Nunez and Haaland are signings that just don't fit both teams, absolutely bonkers that Liverpool spent so much money on Nunez. Haaland wasn't even that expensive and is much more proven than Nunez though, but he doesn't fit City as well.

Yeah they’re not good fits for their set-ups at all.

I can still see Haaland delivering goals because of the amount of space he’ll find and the quality of balls he’ll receive; but I don’t see him as a contributor to City’s overall style. But I suppose that was Pep’s intention, he has ten men to play football; he wanted someone to get goals which Haaland will. And it’s obviously a short term solution with the clause - it’s a gambit to get them over the line in Europe. I can see the forward after Haaland being a more fitting forward for the team overall.

Nunez is an odder one, I can see him getting goals in that team but can also see him flopping miserably and preventing Liverpool’s natural flow. Much harder to predict.

Long balls and crosses into the box. Heavy metal football? My arse.
That high diagonal we kept trying to play into a sea of Palace CB's towards Salah did my head in. It never works but we try at least 10 of them every game.

Anything anti-Dipper
Being semi-serious, what happens if Anderson calls the police and accuses Nunez of ABH?

They didn't fit the teams last season. Which is why both teams are changing to adapt to them instead

That's true, but then why try to fix what's not broken?

I can understand maybe that City want to change things up to try and win the UCL but they were mighty close a couple of seasons back. Sort of like when we bought Veron to try and win in Europe, despite dominating domestically.

Because it's fecking Haaland, that's why. It's not like it's a big change or anything, and now they got a 50+ goals scorer that could be the difference between winning the CL and losing to Chelsea and Madrid

Liverpool had already been going in that direction with Jota on the other hand

Weird to think if we somehow win on Monday we will be above Liverpool after our start to the season.

Wonder if they will call for Koop to be sacked like ETH.
