Looks like he's come in and completely revamped the standards and requirements to be in that starting 11. Seems that he's won the players as well.
What I love is that he doesn't really overcomplicate things. I think Ole hyped the squad to believe that they had made it already. He used to constatly talk how they were such a great group, quality players etc etc.
Notice what ETH talks about - Togetherness, fight, character, bringing "it" game after game, it's the real important thing that we've lacked for years now.
I think he's managing the situation well in regards to the likes of Shaw, Maguire and Ronaldo too. And the brilliant thing is, there's no problem whatsoever when we're winning, because how can you argue with that?

Klopp and arteta being in there jobs for years.. Ten Hag 6 games into his rebuild and he’s done them both. We’re in for an exciting future with him as the boss. A tactical manager and a top coach is what was needed to turn these players around. Love what he’s done with dalot… he’s been immense!

This guy is the next big thing, he will be up there with Pep soon in my opinion.

He may not have the same success but he's endearing me with his adaptability, mixing things up as required. Good signs overall so far
In fact I'd bet that he's actually building towards a cup oriented strategy for this particular season.

He doesn't have the same success as of yet because he didn't manage Barcelona with prime Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, the best team by far in Germany (which can negate ETH success with Ajax, as I don't see the difference in what they achieved), and has never spent over £1bn at a state funded club.
Give him time and I can see him being a massive success.
Wonder if in a weird kinda way that Brentford defeat help expose to him where the major flaws were in this team
After Brentford, everybody thought Rangnick was right and that the entire squad needed gutting. ten Hag felt differently and boy is he proving his point. The man is a revelation. I had high hopes but this is just beautiful. The bounce back from Brighton and Brentford has been glorious and long may it continue.
Did ETH feel different? I think he knew, and knows, the team still needs investment. He wants a striker by all accounts, and he chased de Jong to the last minute. He was also keen on Dumfries but Dalot has been really really good - I think he's a player who shines in a situation in which he's got a clear, coached idea of how to play and ETH will give him that.
Quite similar game plan as Ole for the «better» teams which is not so effective against the lower teams as well though

Really impressed by how he's adapted to the players he has thus far, he's abandoned the play out from the back at all costs, happy to play on the counter attack.

Actually feels good to have a manager not treat tonight like some cosmic achievement. With Ole and Jose this was as good as we could look forward to every week. Room for improvement wasn't even tolerated by the fanboys after big wins.
I'm fully expecting teething problems, as there will inevitably be injuries, suspensions and rotation. But I won't lose my shit, I wanted ten Hag since Ole got the boot (not that I wanted Ole anyway), I think we and ten Hag have plenty more gears left to go through but we will drop points and have poor performances on the way.

Of course he did and does. He was clear in his appraisal of the squad and is investing in the likes of Rashford, McTominay, Dalot, Martial, even the likes of Varane who many people thought would probably be off to PSG next summer. He's coaching the players, pretty much all of whom had been written off. It's a massive shift from the vibe under Rangnick.
What surprises me the most, is the fact that we're only a handful of games in under EtH (+ the pre-season), but you can already see such contrast to previous season and even before that.
It's easy to criticize when some things won't go well (i.e losing a match at some point), but we must also keep in mind how long it took for some other coaches, who had just moved to PL, to actually start producing decent results - Klopp, Pep and not to mention that Arteta has only now managed to get his team playing actual football.
Even if it is early days, it's clear as day that essentially everything is different around the club - the mentality, decisions regarding players, newly brought in characters etc.
Haven't been this excited for a Man Utd games since.... well, forever.
At this point, it's hard not to get carried away and expect a very decent run for this season, but even IF it should crumble at some point, you just know that we have a manager in EtH who you can put your trust into and expect an actual return to the ways of United in the long run.

This kind of thing is exaggerating and a bit nasty. Ten Hag is the better manager but Ole was not that bad.
Still can't believe we wasted three and half seasons on Ole, wouldn't have been that bad if we had realised and got rid of him in the first season.
Anyway, incredibly glad we finally have a coach that is worthy of this club, finally on the same level, world class club world class players world call Manager, before it was so unbalanced.
Mate ole is a club legend but he's a dreadful manager.
In fairness Merson did say from just listening to EtH next to him he would want to play for him also. He does speak well. He speaks simply. He uses all of Keane’s go to words but obviously he’s a tactician to boot.
To be fair Eric severely overachieved in Europe and probably should have made an ucl final too so definitely more impressive than what people did in Germany.

My issue is with the hyperbole statements from these cnuts. ‘Solskjaer did none of these things’ is nonsense. He just was out of his depth. He did manage to win some big games.
Two bad games and they will go after Ten Hag.
Ole had his bright moments but he struggled with the more strategic aspects of the game in terms of reading the changing tactical emphasis of opponents and making the right in-game changes at the right time.

Ole was not that bad, that is what has been wrong here for such a long time. This club needs is ruthless culture back.
