I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of the current series (I think Dara/Fern etc?) after seeing a couple of clips online. Have never watched Taskmaster before. But it’s very good. Will delve into previous series I think.

Was actually quite touching when Sarah M spoke about the singing. Glad she won after that
Mixed feelings. It was cathartic for her, but hers and Munya's songs were easily a level or two below the others. His was surprisingly bad given it's his bread and butter. Fern was robbed!

Great episode, 3 great tasks and John's song was the highlight.

I also had no idea that Tarp was an abbreviation...

3 episodes in it’s been a great series so far. Dara will always be my favourite but Fern is hilarious as well. Had never hear of John but he’s brilliant. Sarah is always good for a random one liner. Munya is definitely less annoying than he was on Masterchef. Like someone else said, he’s funny when he’s just being himself. The sabotage task was one of the best tasks in ages!

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
I'm shocked John has more points than Munya, given the two vastly different levels of energy they bring. I guess Munya does mess around a lot, he's definitely not just trying to win.

Dara is probably going to set a record for the biggest lead over a series. What a try hard.

Officially the best poker player on RAWK.
Dara would have been best in an early series where nobody knew the craic. It's been a very good series so far though, decent tasks and there's not a single contestant you can dislike. Also, I doubt there's a single person watching this who doesn't at least have a little thing for Fern Brady now.

On another note we watched the rebooted Never mind the Buzzcocks series recently too...Greg is a genius when it comes to carrying these shows.

You're in for a treat. There's a bit of a dip around when covid had an impact on the tasks and filming but thats around 10/11 series in. On the whole it is great telly.

I just wish I could get Fern and John's songs out of my head. It was a mistake rewatching them!

I like Dara, but he is sucking the joy out of the competition a bit, and I think he's being scored very generously. Fern has had the opposite treatment.

Surprised Alex is now ripping tasks off the New Zealand taskmaster. Although it is a great task in fairness.

The show is his idea therefore he cannot rip anything off. He allows other countries to have their own version of the show.

Without his creation they would have nothing

Also very few people outside those countries would ever watch another version of the show

He doesn't own the rights to the show, C4 do. And obviously he doesn't get credit for inventing tasks other taskmasters might have come up with.

But they often brainstorm tasks together anyway. I just thought it was interesting that this was the first task that he borrowed from elsewhere.

Pretty sure he's listed as an executive producer in TM NZ... But yeah, I imagine all the TMs have some form of collaboration between them

I’m on series 5 and I haven’t had feelings for Sally Phillips like this since I’m Alan Partridge around 25 years ago

Dara realising how badly he’d messed up one of the tasks was hilarious, particularly given how competitive he is. Enjoyed that task generally - I wonder at what point Alex would have suggested that they open the envelope.

Not to continue on the recent caf trend of hatred against those with speech tics, I noticed that after anything Dara says that's meant to be funny, he does a little 'ehhh...' or similar. It's mildly off putting.

I have that exact hammer from the prize tasks, and I bought it after reading about someone who drove off a pier or something. Haven't had to use it yet, but I'll be ready

Do you want to swap it for a sort of disc line-up toy that will showcase your intelligence?

I just love Ferns voice, she'd be brilliant in voice over work in animation.

Loved how fecked off Fern and her team looked with the Henry Hoover reveal at the end. Absolutely cheated!

John nearly pulled it out of the bag for them if his switch has stood.

The pairing of the teams have been brilliant this time. Munya and Sarah have an amazing chemistry together and Dara trying to cope with Fern and John is hilarious.

Every task John does not I keep wondering if he is trying to sabatage it he has been amazing

A really funny episode I thought. John is just broken. When Greg pulled him up for picking out a black person's hand .
