He's literally just stood there hugging Xhaka from the second the corner is taken until it's in the net, and only lets him go so he can run off and celebrate the goal.
What a nice, wholesome moment

Not overly worried about Cucurella yet.

He's not been good but there are mitigating circumstances too. Early October he was badly ill and spent a week in the hospital and he's been barely fit ever since but has had to continue playing anyway because of multiple injuries at the back. If everyone else was fit Cucurella would probably have been granted more time to recover and then be eased back into the lineup but now that option has been out of the table and he's had to start almost every game which has surely affected his performances and fitness levels negatively.

Excuses won't hold forever and he definitely needs to improve but I think it's a bit harsh to judge him on the basis of around 10 games when he's been half fit for most of them.

I agree and we have to keep in mind that Chelsea, as a team, has been playing poorly the whole season.

That is the name of the game these days. The fans on internet target players, usually new and expensive ones, when a team is doing poorly. I mean, he has been poor, but some comments are way over the top.

It is even worse at United. Just look how Martinez was talked about a couple months back.

The same applies for praising a player too, a few good games and we have the new ”Drogba” and ”Vidic”. It’s just silly tbh.

Too much common sense for this board

He looks like an absolute disaster of a signing. When you see his stats before the move I had to question why Chelsea would pay all that money for him

Far too weak defensively and doesn't add anything in attacking areas when he does play as a wing-back.

He’s not hat bad. He was Brightons player of the year last year and considered stellar…. In the same league.

Tge problem is he has either been playing in an island because we overload to help Azpi with James hurt, or he’s been playing on the left of a back 3 with Jorgihno or RLC as his only shields in midfield instead of Caicedo.

We have many issues. Cucurella isnt really one of them. If we had the right pieces in other areas he would fit in fine.

Ability of Paul Konchesky with the hair of David Luiz.
He is dreadful, Brighton proper mugged Chelsea off.

The state of these posts. It’s not like he isn’t not only a proven player in this league but also was Brighton’s player of the year. Young player who moves to a new bigger club, still adjusting and these kind of posts fly in.

@The Boy I don’t remember him really having a bad game for Brighton but he’s been absolute shite so far for Chelsea. Did he get a lot of protection for you?

Can't defend a dribbling winger. Can't cover the back post. Bullied by any player with any physicality. Can't cross the ball. Offers nothing in possession apart from the same 10 yard sideway pass infield over and over again.

Might actually be the worst signing of the season in a year when Liverpool spent £80m on a striker who can't shoot or trap the ball.

I remember being impressed by him every time I watched Brighton. And he must have been doing something right given City wanted him, albeit they were sensible in their valuation.

Hightlight of the match was putting his arms up and calling for the ball when it came off a bad City pass, and then hoofing it down the pitch straight to a City player.

Horrific summer window from Chelsea. One of the worst ever in terms of the damage it did to a team imo

I’ve never seen such an expensive recruitment drive being written off as needing a rebuild a few months later when that clearly isn’t the plan.
