I agree. He actually seems to care about the club and its future. It doesn't mean that I agree with him giving this interview, but it is not as bad as people made of it in recent days.
Yeah it's great. Shit on the club some more CR7.

The only thing he cares about is himself. He didn't say any of this stuff last season when he was in the team every week, it's only now because he didn't get his move in the summer so this is his way of forcing the club to release him

It's all a PR exercise to protect his brand after his ego couldn't handle ETH treating him on merit. And on merit he's a bench player.

Hopefully the club can see through the bullshit and take strict action.

I know everyone is currently making out Ronaldo is the worst player in history.
But the truth is he could easily have done a job here, in the right games as a rotational player.

The problem was always expecting to play every game and be the big man still.
But he's proved he can't.

Did Greenwood episode not teach you anything? Ronaldo is fecking primadonna but he isn’t wrong either atleast he’s earned the right to comment given what he’s achieved in his career. He’s a selfish cnut but some of you just want to rage over anything that comes from his mouth.
:boring:

Can you imagine what would have happened if we actually qualified for the CL and ETH dropped him to the bench? This would have been nothing like what we are seeing now.

He needs Jesus in his life as his problem seems to be psychological and related to his soul more than anything.
Christiano Ronaldo.
Then he should have gone to Arsenal and partnered with Jesus up front .

Clearly he is self obsessed, I think the word is narcissism. I hear he has a NFT being released in a few days, great way to drum up some PR. My opinion on him does not change, still a legend of the game but as a person, he seems deluded. His career is coming to an end and he cannot deal with it. I couldn't care less about his beef with pundits, what I really took from the first half was how the clubs clock has stopped. Very true and someone had to say it and who better than Ronaldo, the biggest social media footballer in the world. Tomorrow will be interesting though, ripping into the manager is a cheap shot and to use your child as a reason is borderline psychotic, in my opinion. Then again, who knows the reality but to make that statement to the world is exceptional. Piers Morgan is a moron, no doubting that.

MIchael Jordan’s part of this clip from about 0:33 was pretty solid. I’ve thought it for a while actually..especially after signing the likes of Sancho on long term contracts and handing him 350k per week. It doesn’t really motivate the work ethic to improve or be better. He’s already set for life.
This is a bit off... since those from the generation(including Ronaldo albeit in a different sport since that interview is like 20 years old) MJ's talking about will say it about todays generation, who will say it about the next generation and so on and on and on and on. The ultra elite will work harder than the others to maintain their level, which is why they are ultra elite.

Piers Morgan tried his best to shit stir
Think this being in English didn’t help Ronaldo. Had it been in Portuguese, Ronaldo wouldn’t have swallowed the bait as much. Some of what he wants to say is misinterpreted.

There is no way Ronaldo would have said Rooney and Neville are not my friends. Piers definitely was almost provoking him to say it.

The worst thing Ronaldo did was agree to get interviewed by this prick and hasn’t realised Morgan has used Ronaldo’s fame for his own agenda!
really?

He must surely have seen and OKed what has gone out (or his people did).

There will be nothing aired that Ronaldo doesn't want to be.

Probably exactly what Ronaldo wants.
He desperately wants to move on, but I’m sure he’ll at some point realise this interview was a catastrophe and probably his biggest career-mistake after joining United. Ronaldo is at least honest and mostly right, in my opinion

It was also one of United’s biggest mistake ever to sign Ronaldo. The discussion about who’s fault it was has reached new hights:lol:

Because most of us realise he's just a self-absorbed cnut.
Exactly.

People have disagreements and arguments all the time at the work place. Everyone can't always get along. And I'm sure many players are unhappy every year due to a lack of playing time or their own poor performances. How many times have we seen a new manager come in, not be satisfied with a player and eventually moved them on? That's part of life. The difference is that Ronaldo is a petulant self centered prick and can't quite handle the fact that ETH unlike his favourite Ole hasn't laid the red carpet down and given him special treatment that he is not entitled to.

And if he can't get his way, given that ETH is his boss, he has to do this bitchy interview in a desperate attempt to save face and undermine everyone trying to actually restore this great club. And while we're at it let's score some easy PR points by talking about what everyone in football knows is an issue - the glazers (who sanctioned the mistake of signing him and paying him undeserving wages).

As I said, the club needs to have a backbone and take a strong stance on this. He's completely crossed the line, and set up a shameful precedent for future players.

Had a quick check of the comment section on the interview video on YouTube. It's filled with bots and Ronaldo Fanboy remarks. I suppose i shouldn't be surprised..

Posting this here as a comparison in case anyone has missed it.

There is something in Cavani’s tone that expresses loss, a sense of disappointment, hurt. “Maybe so, yeah. True. Because I come from a school where the loveliest thing that can happen is to win as a team. For me there’s no player who makes you win a World Cup on his own. He doesn’t exist and never will. Someone can do something magical but you need teammates running, putting their life on the line. That’s too often forgotten. Instead, it’s all on the goalscorer, the famous name, the Ballon d’Or. That takes focus from what really matters, so that what a team wants to achieve becomes deformed, distorted. You feel that, you experience it. I’ve lived it.”

Learned from it, too. “Because I’ve never had any desire for fame nor to be the best but my best, I’ve analysed teammates and, look,” he says, pausing. “Because the most famous players get highlighted more and sometimes feel the need to demonstrate that …” There is another pause. “When I’ve analysed, I’ve seen negative things that helped me learn and positive things I’ve followed. Everyone has their own personality, you respect that, but there are things I don’t want to ever have in my life, that I reject completely. That’s my reflection.”

The way he tells it Uruguay, like the countryside, is a refuge; a way of reconnecting with what was left behind. “A lot is about humility. Here, the player knows you have to be humble, step down from certain pedestals. These days, everything takes us to a place where the player is egotistical, because he’s thinking about the awards, about …” Cavani pauses. “He leaves aside things that are nicer. If one day I got an individual award I’d be happy, sure, because it underlines your work, but it wouldn’t change my life because the greatest happiness is a photo of my team at home.”

People think its just the pool or whatever. But when a player like Ronaldo who has been at Real and Juventus and won thing we havent in 20 years criticizes the technology and structure he is on to something. Why are we ok with it? Just because we don't like him? Forget the ETH stuff, Ronaldo will be gone. But we shouldn't forget the points where he is correct. The club is in shambles and far behind in every aspect...

He deserves credit for pointing that out
Try calling your boss a wanker publicly whilst continuing to mention that the sky's blue.

Let us know how much credit you get

If you don't mind, what is your take on that what we're witnessing here (and is leading folks to pretend CR's a traitor to the club) is in fact the very same thing:
that he (CR) made "a public statement [if] asked to do so by the club, regardless of what you believe he should do"?
I don't really understand your question.

My take on Ronaldo's public interview (which he was not authorized to do by the club as far as we are aware): it is damaging and/or disrespectful to the United fanbase (the client), his employer, and his boss. In most workplaces he would be fired with cause, or at the very least exited from the company.

I also think he has miscalculated severely. I have been reading/listening to some of the global media surrounding this incident and it is broadly critical of Ronaldo. I think he is burning bridges with more than just Manchester United - as well as damaging his own reputation.

Time will tell.

You forgot the CCP. They're probably the one who invented this whole thing. Google 'wumao' and you'd see.

Has he even brought up his misconduct?

Walking out on the team
Refusing to come on as a sub
Refusing to train

Won't be surprised to hear if none of this was in the interview because narcissists find fault with everything and everyone but themselves.

Keane is a bigger club legend than Ronaldo regardless of this incident though. He’s also much more likeable. And hilarious. Handsome too. Why doesn’t he have 500m followers!?
He's not rich enough. Or he simply just doesn't care. I'm an IT guy and imo no one would have more than 10m followers on any social media platform without some proper professional help.

It's like he has a twitter army. This is crazy. We need to get rid of them and him.
When did becoming a fan of a player not club become a thing?
I once had a colleague at work who openly said she supported any club Mourinho manages. WTF!

So he claimed only Dalot, Case and Martinez are professional? Bruno off his Christmas card list?
