It's win-win as we get him out and he gets what he wants. He will be delighted unless he is punished further

I am very petty and feel if we can prove he has breeches contract or whatever, just suspend him without pay for 6 months. That would be his worst nightmare

It's not that - Rooney liked a drink when he was a player. His face being like that is because of alchohol. I'm sure he partakes even more often now he doesn't have to play.
This. Alcohol is still such a celebrated culture in the UK. When I moved here from Asia many years ago I noticed how bad this country has issues with alcohol. In reality, many of the world’s health issues would be solved if alcohol was illegal to buy (going off subject here I know but I wrote my thesis on this and I’m passionate about it).

Rooney is a prime example of this. The best modern day footballers have always been sober.

The guy is narcissistic enough to name his own son after himself, nobody should be surprised at what he's doing.
Looking forward to see what the club does, hope it's swift and brutal.

How is that clear?
Most contracts of employment have a clause about disreputable behaviour, this is why you can get fired for your behaviour outside of work, if it is deemed to cast a bad image on your employer normally something like "has materially damaged or is likely to materially damage the reputation of .... "

Morgan is a professional WUM and always has been. He will feel immune from criticism here as he’s achieved the only thing he wanted to, publicity.

And yet we didn't fire Greenwood

Yeah I think we're definitely ripping up his contract. Get fecked Ronaldo. Wonder who takes him now.
This is a great point. Who DOES take him now? First of all I dont think many of the 'big clubs' would touch him with a 10 foot barge pole. Then where does he go without taking a huge pay cut? That alone will knock his ego back seeing as how he boasted last night about being the highest paid PL in history (above board, not taking into account Haaland at City).

Sporting? US? Hoping the Saudi's come back for him?

He could be in for a bit of a shock especially if, as I suspect, he is going to tank at the World Cup.

Jordan pointing out his hypocrisy on how he responded to Oprah Winfrey's interview technique when she spoke with Harry and Megan. Saying it was exactly the same how he spoke with Ronaldo.
Thanks. Too right. Morgan is one of the biggest hypocrites going. Constantly contradicts himself depending on what suits him.

Didn't he also get pissy with Meghan just because they refused an interview with him? Would have arse licked her too if she'd taken it no doubt.

That would be a fitting punishment.

Now we just have to find something equally fitting for Piers Morgan

Yes but what does it actually mean
There is always a scapegoat at the club in the media, however just or unjust. Since he arrived it has been Ronaldo. It will be someone else once he leaves, but you can be sure it will be someone.

Morgan reckons we should listen to Ronaldo saying that the club has been going nowhere for 12 years

As if people haven't been protesting the last few years.

What a div.

With Greenwood the case is still pending, as such unproven allegations, I mean we all know ehre it is going but until that happens legally he cannot be penalised, whereas Ronaldo is out there no ambiguity

Don't sack him now. Make him sit on the bench for 90 minutes against Burnley in the league cup and then bring on Tom Heaton as our last sub.

Glad the club are clearly taking the appropriate steps. It's a shame it has ended this way with Ronaldo, there was no need for such an interview given that I'm pretty sure the club would have let him leave for nothing in January given how poor he has been this season. Totally unnecessary all round, it will most likely be largely forgotten over time but it leaves a bitter taste in the here and now.

He's a guy who has a relentless bullying style of interviewing when it's someone he doesn't agree with. Usually barely letting them speak, and the second they mispeak, constantly repeating that minor error back at them in a shouty fashion.

Yet a mild rebuke from that weatherman guy, and he actually walked off live on air, and quit! Amazing thin skin.

He made it clear in his interview that "not any club was a real option". Like he wouldn't consider sporting or Napoli or whatever (not that he'd start at Napoli anyway). But he also made it clear that wherever he goes, he has to be a key player, otherwise he'll claim he's been disrespected as you don't use a player like him as a squad player (in his eyes).

It's the most interesting part about this - who is dumb enough to sabotage their whole season in Europe. And if nobody is, when does Ronaldo accept his lack of options and end up going to Saudi or MLS, if he's even allowed there.
