A lot has already forgotten about Best being a big cnut in his final years with us too. Which makes me wonder how people would see Ronaldo in years to come.

Best in his glory days with us: (legend worthy)
- Ballon D’or winner x1, 3rd place x1
- 179 goals in 470 games
- CL x1
- League title x2
- Overall trophies x5
- was regarded as most gifted footballer and first pop star of football
- spend majority of his peak years with us

Ronaldo in his glory days with us: (legend worthy)
- Ballon D’or winner x1, 2nd place x1
- 145 goals in 346 games
- CL x1
- League titles x3
- Overall trophies x9
- was regarded as GOAT/ most followed person in the world
- turn down the chance to play for a more successful rival, and move back to us instead during his 2nd stint

Best in his fallen days with us:
- late night drinking problems
- missed many training sessions
- get suspended by the club numerous times for missed training sessions while found dating with other female celebrities in much publicized way.
- keep missing more training sessions and found guilty of breaking a girls nose in nightclub brawl
- walked out on the manager/the team after getting dropped, and made claim about the manager being deceitful with him
- has been toxic in dressing room, not speaking with teammates he considered as inferior, failed to turn up to Charlton testimonial match etc
- was arrested and get charged for stealing, but was later cleared of all charges. The club went on to suffer relegation on the following season.

Ronaldo in his fallen days with us:
- Request for transfer during his peak to join another club in his first stint
- Again request for transfer for CL football in his 2nd stint
- Left early in a preseason game
- refuse to play in final minutes for a game, walked out on the manager/the team, get fined and suspend by the club
- Undermined the club/manager, speaking against the club and the manager in his much publicized interview, making claims of feeling betrayed, no respect, substandard training facilities, and the club being run as commercial club etc
- also causing unwanted distraction to the club, speaking against his ex-teammates and ex-manager in much publicized interview
The thing is, George Best had a personality. So did Eric. Others might get a pass for their longevity and loyalty.

Ronaldo doesn't have any of these qualities. He was a great player but didn't ever give a feck about the club and had all the charm and personality of a wet shoelace.

He's thrown tantrums twice to leave the club.

I think he's ruined his image with a lot of level-headed United fans.

WOW the lengths CR7 fans will go.
Best yeah was a cnut Ronaldo was a bigger cnut.
Best had a personality , Ronaldo has the personality of a potato
Both gifted players, Best was just better at everything.

It's informative when Ronaldo acolytes like the poster you responded to list "number of followers" as an career achievement, shows how much value they place in the cult of celebrity.

I think it's clear to most that he's not a legend. Let the thread die, it's just giving ammunition to the fanboys.

What is this "personality" you are talking about? Kick supporter, punch your girlfriend, raise your collar, or grow a side beard?
I mean, his narcissism and his goal celebration are big parts of his "personality." He cannot be at his level by being drunk and violent.

Its just simply a comparison and similarity as with George Best "being the first pop star in football", which has nothing to do with career achievement too.

And of cos the similarity is ignored and go all one side against Ronaldo here.

Who knows, maybe Best has been acting like a bigger cnut back in those days?

Of course it doesn't really matter much after these years, which is exactly where the argument is coming from.

For United: he’s a great.
For Football: he’s a legend.

Probably just a level down on Keano, who at least peaked at United, but quiye similar exit situation.

Jesus. That's not what anyone meant, but careful picking that scab, I can think of 155,000 reasons not to.
