Surprised no Mejbri, considering Tunisia are desperate for extra creativity in forward areas

Harry Souttar has had a great game but can he do it on a cold windy night in Stoke?

This is a bad result for the Danes. They need to get a result against the French

What a low quality game by two poor teams. Poland and Saudi better be better.

Not a bad result for Denmark. Beat Australia and we're through unless Tunisia beat France. If we can't beat Australia, we don't belong in the knockout stages anyway.

Another AFC win. Almost like the handwringing after two days of the tournament was utter bollocks.

Well done to Australia. On paper they look very weak but getting 3 points is massive. I don't think this Danish team is amazing so they have a chance, especially if France beat Denmark. Asia continuing to impress.

Asian sides in this World Cup doing well.

Sad to say but it's looking like another disaster of a World Cup for African sides.

Would the likes of Nigeria and Ivory Coast do better? Curious as to whom has the best squads in Africa.

Definitely side with "less pressure for today". Better to bet on beating Australia (where you have direct control on the result) than on Tunisia losing (with France potentially resting players if already qualified).

Nigeria has the best squad by far on paper imo. There seems to be issues within their football association atm though.

Probably not if they were beaten by the ones who did qualify but I can't say for sure.

It's one win I think so far for African sides , against Qatar who are probably the worst team in the tournament. And even then Senegal made hard work of it.

10-15 years ago it felt like they were on the verge of breaking through, but now they all look really poor generally.

It's shit like this, and the Iran/Wales game yesterday why I absolutely love the World Cup.

Nations with literally no hope of actually winning the thing going crazy at just winning a game, and the other team distraught at losing.

There's nothing like it.

Well it’s good result for Danemark to be already sure that no matter what happens tonight they will have their destiny in their own hands going into the last round vs Australia.

On the other hand the GD advantage over Australia doesn’t play in anymore. If Danemark doesn’t win tonight they’ll have to defeat Australia to qualifiy…. With a draw here , they could have qualified with 2 draws or even a loss to France and a draw in the last one.

For Denmark the best result was a draw and worst result was a Tunisia win. They got the second best.

Algeria (Mahrez, Bennacer), Nigeria (Osimhen, Ndidi) and Ivory Coast (Kessie, Zaha) probably have better squads than some of the teams that qualified, but they all failed somehow.

Yeah it’s fantastic. Obviously great football and knockout games are great. But there’s literally nothing better than smaller footballing nations standing up on the world stage and performing. The beautiful game is right.

Top effort from Australia to give themselves a chance in the final game. Souttar and Mooy were quality.

And team harmony - watching them against Portugal, they seemed more interested and energetic in pointing fingers at who had made a bad play than actually playing football

Except they barely beat them. Ghana knocked Nigeria out thanks to some lucky away goal. Nigeria is a much better team overall…

Tunisia were gifted a win by Mali. Also a better team than them.

Cameroon is a decent team, and deserves to be here but they also had to ride their luck against Ivory Coast and later against Algeria. They are not really superior to these 2.

I think Africa would look much better with Nigeria + anyone of the other 4 (Mali, Algeria, Egypt and Côte d’Ivoire) instead of Tunisia and Ghana.

Delighted for Australia, more so as a Hibs fan for seeing Martin Boyle right in the middle of that huddle beside Graham Arnold. So gutted he picked up an ACL injury right on the eve of this tournament.
