Very impressed by Matt Turner this tournament. If Ramsdale has a dip at any point he's more than capable and I presume will be their cup keeper so will get plenty of games in second half of the season.

If both England and USA win their matches going forward, at what point would they meet again?

He's shit. Might be good enough for the norwegian team but not for england. Leave it at that lad.
Most definitely good enough for Norway. Better than a lot of English players as well by the looks of it. Or maybe Southgate and Potter are equally shit and blind?

disappointing from Iran. not because they're losing here, but because they're going to lose without ever really troubling USA.

Bale's decline has been pretty sad. Reminiscent of Rooney's, though Bale was never as good, obviously.

Jenas talking as if he knows what's it's like to play in a World Cup knockout

What an odd reaction, I merely pointed out they play in different positions for England, which Stevie Wonder could have pointed out.
Mate, if you think Southgate doesn't have it in him to favour certain players, you haven't watched England play in the past 5 years.

You bring up the fact that they don't play the same position, as if we're talking about a defensive midfielder and a goalkeeper. They both play behind/beside the main CF. It's not rocket science.

He's underrated for me in this position. He's not a clinical world class finisher but he stretches defences and has great movement.
There has to be a modern way tweak we can use to accomodate this. His movement is too good and we do have better creative players than him. He's also very available and pretty reliable on effort when pressing. When you look around, there aren't many no.9's who don't have these things

People are always going from one end to other with Maguire. It's a nothing game and he's had one good attacking move which he ended with ridiculous shot from impossible angle. And he's had one or two good long balls out wide. That's literally his entire performance, of course nothing wrong with it.

What exactly was GREAT with that performance?
He’s does what is asked of modern CBs against low blocks, progressing the ball forward by stepping into midfield and contributing to the attack. It’s not easy, there’s a rarity of these CBS around for a reason.
He’s a CB and has been more progressive with the ball then Henderson and Rice today. This Maguire starts for Utd but this isn’t really his level anymore
