I dunno about that like.

You're one of the level-headed ones on here when you're talking about football I always thought.

The most in form player in the world for the last 2 years along with Rio Ferdinand. For those saying his game was better in 06/07, well I had no problems with Ronaldo's game in 07/08 he won us most matches.

Another great thread by Pogue Mahone. I dont know what else I can add to the first post except to say that I hope Ronaldo remains here for a very long time. If he leaves then give him the opportunity to leave as a Manchester United hero.

`Last season, I fecking loved Ronaldo, and I , along with most other United fans, turned a blind eye to how much of a prat he is. To be honest, Its a massive shame that he is the way he is.

He's not that bad. He may not the be the most loyal and he may not be a saint but when you put it into context he's not all that bad.

Me too. And I'm gonna do it again this season. So I can appreciate what he brings to the team without constantly feeling conflicted.

Not often we get to watch such a talent in the red of MUFC. So we might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

This is the thing. What he did may have offended us as people who have an emotional attachment to the club, but it was in keeping with his whole profession. In fact, as you say, when compared to some of his peers, he was positively saintly(well, maybe not, but you get the point).

I learned long ago that I can appreciate the footballer without feeling the need to like the man. And, like it or not, he's a feckin' damn good footballer. We'll be much worse off when he leaves, that's for sure.

Exactly, I can like a player more if he has a great personality, like Tevez or Evra, but I could never like a player less if he has a rubbish personality, I'd just ignore it.

I personally don't think Ronaldo's is that bad anyway. Doesn't have the most common sense of sense of respect but besides that he seems alright, his arrogance is never a problem to me and most people seem to like him on a personal level.

What kind of personality a player has is irrelevent. What kind of attitude he has to the club and the level of commitment he shows both on and off the pitch is important.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
I can absolutely guarantee we will all be telling our grand-kids about "that boy Ronaldo" and how nobody in the modern game is a patch on how good he used to be (that's human nature after all) so I, for one, am gonna focus on enjoying the remainder of the career of "Ronaldo the footballer" while he still plays for MUFC, without getting my knickers in a knot about "Ronaldo the man". Sometimes in life you just need to kick back and appreciate what you have, before it's gone forever, I reckon this is one of those occasions.

Viva Ronaldo.
Welcome to the dark side, Pogue!

Viva Ronaldo indeed.

Go and see the posts in the matchday threads or the after game threads
The matchday threads? You are using that as you're argument?

As for the after game threads, a lot of people on here get extremely worked up if the team draws, loses or just beats a team by a single goal. I really wouldn't use that as an argument either.

I would say most United fans appreciate what a great talent Ronaldo and a wonderful player he can be on his day. Most of us wish he was back to his rip-roaring self right now but no one will forget the performances he gave last season. He will go down as a great player.

Well, if not judge it by the fans, by whom then? He gets slated for everything, for example after giving the signal for substitution or holding his wrist after a knock... no matter what, they give him stick whenever possible. That's ridiculous.

Every player gets stick. If you think what Ronaldo gets aimed at is bad, then I guess you've been ignoring what kkind of abuse is aimed at O'Shea. It's not an indication that not many United fans do not appreciate Ronaldo. Let's not forget the crowd has not booed him at all.

And your view just happens to work as a dig at Ronaldo at the same time, funny that eh? ;)

I think you have a pretty odd view of your perception on here Heap.

You act as if because you're a matchgoing fan people don't like you're views on things, or that 'you're not welcome here', or something along those lines.

Can't really understand why to be honest.
I think most of his views are spot on to be fair.

And no, I'm not ass kissing, he tells it how it is.

We've been spoiled with talent over the past 10-15 years...

Oh so do I, he's straight to the point and I agree with a lot of what he says.

Should post on here more often than he does.

Ach..away and print yer Shite!
The disappointment in Martin Tyler's voice at 4:15.
7:59 secs
Tyler's resigned apathy commentating on Ronnie's pen against Wigan away (an absolutely vital Championship winning goal) was a Fecking Disgrace!!
Compare it with his verbal orgasm when Donkey Adams sealed Arsenal's Championship win against Everton in '98...
The cnut!
