    There's absolutely no problem. Yeah it looks like my basis for judgment was erroneous. I thought it was by large more efficient procedure than it is in reality. Since you've pointed it out I've also did a small research. I've found data from around 2005 in U.S. National Registry of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    which states that from 14000 attempts 44% were successful in resuming heart rate, but only 17% survived to be discharged. Subsequently one third from them needed permanent treatment because of brain damage. Well I guess it's always good to learn something new and I'm thanking you for your insight.

    I still see some space to further sift those data. Don't you think that the presence of medic crew from the moment of cardiac arrest should greatly improve his chances in relation to your and mine aforementioned statistics? Him being a healthy 20 year old should also increase his rate since hospital patients possibly already suffer from other problems and there is the matter of time taken before CPR.
    The chance of having a "good" neurological outcome is even lower. The overwhelming majority of children and adults that suffer out-of-hospital arrests expire, unfortunately. We as a medical community need to do better and there is ongoing research to ensure we are better equipped to treat such events in the future.
    Survival to discharge for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests that were treated by emergency personnel was 9.5% for patients of any age in the US in 2010 (this is the most recent data available in the manuscript I found after a quick search online -- I'll post the link below).
    I'm a physician, but won't speculate in this particular case as I was not present for the resuscitative efforts. However, your understanding of the outcomes associated with cardiac arrest is misguided (this is not meant as a personal attack -- in fact, there is evidence that the lay public greatly overestimates survival following cardiac arrest, perhaps due to how these events are depicted in the media).
