Iam not quite sure how much he is worth but according to the thesis written by DJS he has all the qualities and and abilities of a £7 million striker.

DJS, i was bored and wanted to provoke a little discussion, which is what the forums are about...and i think i achieved that - more so when the daytime brigade arrive...
In all honesty, Owen has all the qualities listed by you and i think you all know that - to try and defend him as anything more than that is true support, if a little misguided.
On a more serious note, i found it fascinating how quickly the value of money in football can change.
£7m for Owen is an enormous usage of cash and albeit great fortune today,it's remarkable to think what that amount of money would buy now.
I dont buy the 'Owen scores goals'argument any more than the 'Liverpool handed Chelsea the CL spot'argument...
There's scope for discussing that claim, but if I ask you whether Owen was the difference between you qualifying for the CL and finishing one spot behind you obviously say 'no' as he did'nt make much of a difference.
It appears apparent that LFC's decision to sell Heskey is fundamentally due to a desire to bolster the squad and the fact that, unless someone is sold, there is very little money with which to do this.
With the benefit of hindsight (wonderful thing to have, i know), it seems that selling Owen, especially for £7m, is a good move...as McDonaldinho is worth only £9 million and Kewell £7 million.So, Kewell,Cisse,Jancker possibly Defoe, maybe even Viduka from skint Leeds...
I'm sure that the vast majority of Liverpool fans would agree with me.

Forlan was ahead of Baros, Heskey and Diouf, and creeping up on Owen when he got injured. And he ended not far off either.
So by your analysis, Owen IS worth 7m quid.
