Çağlar Söyüncü - Leicester's 'Diamond in the rough'...

After only making 6 appearances (2 as a sub) for Leicester last season after his £19m move from SC Freiburg, Söyüncü has begun to make moves this season - reportedly catching the eye of Pep Guardiola.

So after a series of impressive displays and becoming a quick cult figure at Leicester is he destined for the top and if so.. any chance we can replace maybe Lindelof with him and partner him with Maguire, or is the cat out of the bag? Is he headed for City or even Liverpool as a partner for VVD...

Thoughts?

Need to see much more of him. Made a poor mistake against us which gave us the 3 points. But his general game looks like it has potential

Early days. Bailly looked unreal in first few games, among many many others. Takes time for teams to suss out how to get at you.

A big part of why he is being built up so much is because he is key to the narrative that leicester were happy to let maguire go so funny united are mugs again

Was impressed with him vs Liverpool. Funnily enough, I actually thought if he carried on performing like that, it'd be Liverpool trying to get him, rather than City.

Was the same at Freiburg, great potential with some rashness and mistakes. I expected him to play far more last season and establishing himself. Now he has a manager who values him more, even if Maguire was blocking him. Should have played with him. He will only get better if he doesnt catch injuries, needs to iron out his mistakes to a minimum.

It was clear at Freiburg how good Caglar can become, he still will make mistakes, but right now he is playing the game far more simple, which is helping him settle into the PL. He's a classy defender.

Not sure where he'll end up, but Liverpool have Gomez for the long term I think? Plus with Matip playing the best football of his life, and still only about 27, don't think they have a priority in central defence, in fact, they are the last of the 'big clubs' in he PL who likely would target him. Arsenal maybe, more of a need there.

But not sure he'd be in a hurry to move too soon, and if he carries on the development path he has been on since at Freiburg, he will be bringing another large fee in for Leicester in a couple years!

Quite funny this, If you go watch the games and see he has made a couple of mistakes that have cost a goal.

Rashford's penalty is one and I am sure I watched another Leicester game where he was at fault.

But Caf fans will say he is a beast and Lindelof got beaten in the air for Palace goal is a poor defender..

Hmmm

Under a tree.
He reminds me of Bramble...maybe not to that extreme, but nevertheless a talented footballer that is far too calamitous

Saw him play for Turkey vs Albania and made a bunch of mistakes. Plays against France in a few hours for anyone interested.

He’s looked good but what’s the point of bringing up stats from one game?

If we go for a Turkish CB, then it should be Demiral. He's not playing much for Juventus, would definitely be cheaper than Soyuncu and could turn out to be the better player.

We should have signed him this summer, now don't think they will sell. Maybe De Ligt and Demira will be their future CB pair.

Not sure, if they keep playing Chiellini and Bonucci over him, he might get frustrated and they've got another talented CB on loan, who they signed last summer as well.

Seems to be similar to Maguire in that he's very comfortable on the ball but seems to struggle a bit in the physical duels. Not just Rashford but you also had Salah brushing him off very easily the other week.

I'm pretty sure he was highly rated at Freiburg, can remember Arsenal being frequently linked to him.

Chiellini is 35 and Bonucci will be 33 by the end of the season. They can loan him out if they rate him very highly.

Is this the guy who couldn't handle Rashford (who the Caf think it's shit) and kept fouling him eventually giving away a penalty?

Looks okay but for every good thing he's done he's made a mistake.

Would be surprised to see a 35 year old Chiellini coming back at top level after the bad knee injury.

It's only been 720 minutes but so far he has better stats than Maguire this season, or the previous one playing for Leicester. Solid replacement for 25% of the price.

We should have bought him and Demiral as future world class CBs probably, it's a "transitional" season after all and most fans don't seem to mind midtable position.

He reminds me of Stones when he was at Everton. Great player with lots of potential but capable of the worst type of mistakes. While Stones got his big money move he never has been able to iron out the poor mistakes.

100%, that guy looks a beast. Juve got him cheap.

Cannot believe someone said Caglar reminds him of Bramble. Completely bossed it against France. Yes he makes mistakes, point me one defender that doesnt? Still young and very good at that. Would take him at Chelsea in a heartbeat.
Demiral was also brilliant.

Caglar does make a mistake or two but overall he has been very consistent. At 23 years old his upside is huge if the mistakes get reduced. His ball control and passing are excellent already.

if you are on about the move that ended with the booking, Salah pushed him over, the referee either didn't see it or he biased Liverpool.

He looks a promising player but apparently he's a dick off the pitch.

The way he treated Shrek was pretty terrible.
