Looking at the table just now and seeing us only 3 points out of 2nd I have to say that so far I'm surprised how close we still are.
When the season started I feared we would be in the bottom 1/3 by now. Early days still but yeah, happy enough where we are.
What do you think?

Happy.

If we’d won the last one I’d have been overjoyed

We've had a tough run of fixtures, and a few things not go our way that probably should have.

The main thing I am grateful for, is the recruitment. It seems to be much improved, and we are finally starting to act more ruthless by shipping out serial underperformers, rather than offering them 5 year contracts like that idiot Woodward would have done.

All things considered I am relatively happy with where we are at. Early days yet though, like you say.

We're alright. It's very difficult for me to see us finishing above where we are right now unless the midfield is upgraded in January.

Happy…yes.

I’d give us a 7/10 score.

Last 4 games have been great for our confidence and pushed us up the table but we’re still easily run through and concede poor goals. We’re definitely in a fight for top 5 as a lot of other teams have issues as well. I’d like to see us tighten up at the back over the next few games. Until we do that any progress will be made on quicksand.

Looks to me that Utd have turned a corner, some decent signings and a good deal of deadwood have gone. Started off ok in the league but could have been a little better.

Happy to see Utd doing ‘ok’ again but I have enjoyed reading the meltdowns on here over the last few years.

I like Amorim and would love him to do something at Utd just to ram the jabs from the media back down.

Given in July most of the Caf thought it would be three years before we could be genuine title contenders I would say we are slightly ahead of schedule.

Brentford game annoyed me the most.

I’ll give it a 6.5/10.

-1 for Grimsby. -1 for Brentford.

League position is okay.

Important to beat Spurs this weekend and it’ll be 7/10.

Happy would be putting it a bit strongly, I reckon.

If we were still in the League Cup I'd probably be happy. If we'd beaten Forest I probably would. If we beat Spurs I will be.

Suppose I can’t complain too much looking at the table, but I’m not really happy with how we’ve played generally this season. We still have so many issues that need addressing that it feels we are a lot further away from the best teams in the league than the table currently suggests.

I'm not happy that the apocalypse that was last season has recalibrated what we should expect from a United team.

Ten Hag was bad, in so many ways too numerous to list here. His 8th place finish in 2024 was deemed a disaster, that effectively put him on notice.

Yet if we were to finish 8th this season, a lot of fans would be "happy" with it, because it's an improvement on 15th.

So I'm not going to be happy until (1) United are an established top 4 team again, and (2) until United can sustain a credible title challenge. I'm not expecting Ruben to achieve that this season, but if he's still here for 26/27 then that needs to be the standard he's held to.

Thought we had a decent chance of nicking top 4/5 before the season, and still pretty much in the same place. Very happy with the improvements to the frontline, and I feel they can kick on and be among the very best in the league. Mbeumo has been great from the start, but Cunha and Sesko have a different level to go to.

Our defensive fragility and lack of control is always concerning, though. Even in that Brighton game with us 3-0 up and cruising the wheels almost found a way to fall off. Our games still descend into full on Ten Hag chaos ball far too easily - probably because Casemiro is our only real midfielder and he's breathing out of his arse after an hour.

Happy is too strong a word.
Not so unhappy, with little fragile sprouts of happiness here and there, maybe. Which is a great deal better than the bitter depression of last season.

It's where I expected us to be, content is more accurate.

There is no chance we'll be genuine title contenders in three years. Who thinks we could be?

(I don't think it'll ever happen but that's another story).

It's been a rocky start but we're starting to see something resembling a team with decent potential.

The promising thing is, unlike last year, for all our defensive wobbles and general moments of unstability we do look a somewhat threat going forward, though I'd like to see more improvement from Cunha and especially Sesko.

Me for one. We have some young players whose ceiling could be very high, we don't know yet. We have some too young for the first team now but could easily reach the top, and our massive income means we can buy each year. Have faith my friend, but I am very partial to a re-build myself I must admit. Because a re-build is what we're in, we've seen a pretty ruthless chucking of the unwanted, and I don't think our recent buys, youth included, have been bad at all. Two and three quarter years now :)

"Happy" is perhaps not the right word, although I would say that things have gone better than expected. I can't help but feel that we have been carried a little bit by our new signings and Bruno adapting well to the CM role, but time will tell. In any case, it's not a crime to do well in the transfer market. In fact, it's a necessity if we want to win the biggest trophies. We've been consistently bad in the transfer market for so long, so it's about time we caught a break.

We still play that weird formation, but at least we are no longer obsessed with playing out from the back or being overly tidy. That's a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

Enjoyed more than I haven't, which is more than I hoped for. New signings have been great. Its wont be a perfect season, and stuff like Saturday will happen, but last season we wouldnt have even been in the game.

Opening 10 games tells us that Arsenal are the only consistent team in a fairly average Premier league.

From a Man United point of view I hadn't high expectations before the season started so happy enough to be within touching distance of top 4 after 10 games. Doing ok on goals scored compared to the rest but improvement needed defensively

The only games I seem to enjoy watching live are the ones I don't care about. So I enjoy watching CP, Bournemouth, Sunderland, etc but I suffer watching Man Utd.
Been bitten too much I suppose since SAF retired.
But, as I mentioned above, I'm quite happy enough with our current position, considering where I thought we'd be.

Above 15th and only 2 points off 2nd.

Added bonus of having a few weeks where Liverpool were a laughing stock.

I think it's been going ok.

I'm still uneasy. Other than Arsenal , no teams have really sprinted ahead. So we are in this bunch.

Cautiously happy. But if we lose against Spurs we'll only have two points more than we did at the same point last season. Feels like if we can bounce back with another run of wins I'll be feeling very confident about the season

Happy enough.missed opportunities though. Before season started I said if we can get 17pts for every ten games and be at 51ish after 30games we would be in a good position to make a run for 5th. 65pts got 5th last season. We need to gather as much pts as possible though while others are in European comps. So before the first ten games id have taken 17pts. But after them I feel we left a few behind

On a scale of 1-10. I’m a 6.5 or 7.

I’m happy but apprehensive.

I'm a 7/10 if that is the best way to rate. For sure better enough than I thought we would be.

If Bruno made those penalties it would be an 8.5. (Still love ya Bruno!)

We've done ok for results in some tough games. But we don't look anywhere near equipped to dominate games against teams that might end up 8th to 15th.

And we're still no closer to looking like a cohesive defensive unit, nor an attacking one. The substitutions we make are nowhere near dynamic or brave enough to pull more victories out of the bag in tight games... and we're likely to have a few of those.

But we haven't lost since we got a competent keeper in.

Very mixed bag. Some of the recent games were encouraging and being able to string together a number of positive results was a good first step towards recovery. We still often don't really know what kind of performance we can expect from the team though and I'm not at all confident in proclaiming United have turned a corner yet. If we are in the top 5/6 around Christmas/heading into January, I'll be much more inclined to think we actually are on the right track. Having no European football should especially become telling in the second half of the season in regards to fixture congestion, fatigue and injuries. That will give us a solid advantage. Let's also hope the higher ups dip into the market to strengthen the midfield in January to compound that advantage.

Mixed happiness. We are a better team because Cunha, Mbeumo, Lammens are better players. Not losing is a huge improvement over last season, but all the "we're only x points off x position" talk is a fig leaf. We are playing some nice football occasionally but that is usually confined to one half of a match (and not even the full 45 at that), and it looks more Individual Brilliance FC than by design. I am not convinced Amorim has improved anyone or that his system is the way forward, but at least we've pulled out of the nosedive.

Happy? With us sitting in 8th and out of one of the two cups we can win? Absolutely not. We’ve had a good run of 3 wins and some signings look good. That’s about it. Everyone has it all to prove.

I'm content. We're a better team than last season, whether that's purely due to recruitment is anyone's guess. I certainly think we'd be better off if we started the season with Lammens.

We have some of the same frailties as before but I consider that more due to the make up of the squad with how much we give up in terms of physicality in the deeper areas on the pitch. Our midfield needs no explanation. We also need pace at the back. As good as Shaw and De Ligt have been, they aren't blessed with rapid pace and when you employ a pressing system, you need at least one player with rapid pace to cut out counters. Or you need world class positioning like Rodri but that's much harder to find.

But I do see the way Amorim wants his team to function and I see the way forward is through recruiting more players of Cunha and Mbeumo's quality in CM and LWB. I'm curious to see if Amorim can make us a good team with those additions.

That does not mean I'm willing to give up on this season waiting for the summer. We'll have some rough patches and losing our right side for potentially a month could de-rail the season completely. It's up to the coaches and the players to overcome those dips and keep showing that they are worth investing into. If we can get to January in the same "challenging for top 4" position, I'd look to strengthen the midfield and hope that gives us the push needed.

Slightly negative nancy here, but I think our start to the season has been....okay, if I'm being generous. Granted, the results are definitely better than the rock bottom doomsday scenarios many of us - me included, to a certain extent - predicted, but really not by much; definitely feel the Anfield 2-1 has done a lot of heavy-lifting to skew people's opinion to the positive side.

It's one thing if we were consistently playing well every game, and the results just didn't follow. But my issue is that pretty much every single game this season - win or lose - has been a bit of a coin toss, and fairly chaotic - not in a good way. In my view, the Sunderland and Brighton are the only two games I can confidently say, we played well, dominated from start to finish, and were fully deserving of the win, without any outside factors or slice of luck involved.

Every other game though, it's pretty much just come down to how the luck of bounce goes that particular day. What I mean is, despite us fully deserving the win against Burnley and being the better team throughout, we still needed a 97th minute penalty to defeat them. We weren't "lucky" per se, but a game that we should've been out of sight by half-time, came down to the last kick. Against Chelsea, we played well, but again, we'd be furious if we didn't, considering we were up against 10 men for about 70 minutes. And we still almost contrived to let them find a way back into the game. The Anfield win was massive, and this isn't to take away anything from the mental fortitude of the players (especially after Liverpool equalised), but once again, we were helped in no small part by Salah and Gakpo leaving their scoring boots at home - if Gakpo buries the most open headed chance he'll ever get, then the game ends 2-2, which is still not a disaster, but it definitely takes a bit of shine off the game.

Of course, the other side of the coin applies, too. We've not had the rub of the green in other games, where we've dropped points that we probably shouldn't have. We were better than Arsenal, and at least deserved a point. Fulham and Brentford games go completely different if Bruno converts his penalties. And we threw away two points at Nottingham Forrest in 90 seconds of madness just because Dalot forgot how to defend; even with his brain fade, we were one 95th minute clearance of the line away from getting the win.

So we've had "luck" both in our favour and also go against us. The general saying is that the "table doesn't lie" and that it generally evens itself out over the course of the season. It's still early days, and the table says we're eighth. Which sounds about right (maybe a little higher than our performances have warranted). My biggest issue is that we can dominate 90% of a game, but can just as easily implode in that 10% to throw away points, or erode our confidence. You can say that the consistency will come with time, once our new signings all find their feet, but nothing is guaranteed.

I think it's also important not to measure any progress against the absolute humiliation and bottom-dwelling awfulness of last season. I mean, we finished 15th, and were historically terrible every other week. When you're starting from rock bottom, and standards are at the pits, it's almost a given that you're going to be "better" the following season.

I personally predicted us finishing between 6th and 9th this season, and still think that's where we end up. But as always, will be the happiest humble pie eater if proven wrong, and own up to these knee-jerk comments come the end of the season.

It's been years that I complained about our lack of goals. This season we've been improving, and averaging 2 goals/game lately. If we can hold defence long enough, I know we'll score. With Amad, Cunha, Bruno, and Mbeumo (also Uncle Case) in the squad, there's just too much quality to not score.

Thus, I'm just happy and enjoy watching us again so far. The hoofball tactic still look primitive, but there are sprinkles of quality play and individual skill to offsets the disappointment (so far).

Then there's that winning at Anfield...

What we need to look at is that we have gotten a lot of our tough games out of the way. We have picked up some form. Unbeaten in 4 games now. We are definitely improving and that calls for being optimistic.

Its been ok. Nothing to celebrate. Some nice wins in there but team still missing a lot of pieces. New signings Cunha and Sesko blowing hot and cold. Mbuemo has been better. Lammens too soon to judge but has got some stability in defence.

It won’t mean much if we struggle so much against fail to beat teams like Forest. Out run of 3 wins does indeed create some optimism, but that doesn’t equate to being happy with the season thus far.

Not happy but not sad either. Had we wo arse or fulham games, think lot of fans would have been really happy.
Our defense worries me a lot . Amorim has made selection mistakes and not making subs to correct em is poor/ inexperienced management . Think we ll finish about where we are, unless we can make some real improvement in defense .
