Clinton machine is incompetent. So are the DNC. This election has been thrown away.
Yep. Biggest dish served on a platter for the DNC to get another lengthy WH stay, possibly gain momentum in the down ballot (if not this cycle in the next), and have massive SCOTUS possibilities, and they dropped it with a shit candidate and terrible strategy.

From experience of post-Brexitness over here - Dems: if Clinton sneaks a win in the popular vote, claim "a majority of the country voted for this" as justification for doing a multitude of batshit things.

Just because one is different or an outside or whatever doesn't mean they are better. This idea that people are tired of the establishment is definitely true and has a lot of legitimacy. But going in absolute opposite direction is rarely the best course of action. In this case, it actually signifies that the racism, hatred and bigotry that has marked human history throughout the ages did not exactly decrease as much as we thought thanks to education, it has just been asleep and is strongly coming back.
Come on.. just like Brexit was only because of old racists. :boring:

Oh you poor child. Why fix something that is working so brilliantly for him?
Because some of the nonsense he talks about isn't possible. You can't impose a blanket ban on a religious community. Mexico is not paying for any fecking wall. It's not possible to just cancel trade deals and make "deals that are going to be beautiful", yada, yada, yada. Trump supporters will find out soon enough that he is not unlike any other "establishment" candidate that they hate.

Bernie would have stood a chance, he could have played against the establishment and offered a sense of hope but the socialist label may have held him back, who knows. He should have been given the shot though - if principle had anything to do with this whole mess we call democracy.
DNC were never going to give him a chance when their darling Hillary decided to run.

He promised to send her to prison, repeal half the policies Obama initiated. I am sure he won't shy away from any of these promises.
He won't send her to prison (he can't) -- it's vote winning rhetoric. He probably will repeal a lot of Obama's policies, though. His social platform is pretty terrible.

Surely Trump is bricking it now. It's one thing winning an election, it's a whole other thing actually being POTUS. He's simply not up to the job.

18 - 44 years old 58% in Clinton's favour. Shows you exactly how old people decide elections. At least if we survive the Trump era it's clear that the world IS progressing.

What worries me more is that Repiublicans also controlling House and Senate things like Social Security, Minimum Wage, Woman Reproductive Rights, etc all are now on the table for Republicans to gut,

Not just of course. None of these things can be attributed to one factor. But that was one of the main agendas, not necessarily racism, but fear rhetoric, the vague promises of a better future using easy over simplified answers to appeal to the uneducated or plain frustrated. A large number of those tend to be old racists but sadly, many others were not which is what I am saying. This guy winning signifies that a large number of the so called civilized west is not as repulsed about bigotry as we hoped or thought they were.

What you guys are forgetting is the Trump campaign shopped for "the most powerful VP ever... In charge of domestic and foreign policy." So if you're hoping his inner NY liberal playboy will come out in the white house - it'll probably be to use the office for personal gain and amusement, while Mike Pence runs the country. It's depressing just to think about.

Even @legolegs - the beacon of positivity, has gone silent.
Actually I just posted.
But yeah she's losing PA now and that's the big problem. I checked all the counties in PA and I can't really see how she gets back there. I mean it's still possible but my hope before was quite rational in that she had big counties that would vote for her. In PA there's a GOP county left.

edit
Just realised the GOP county has already been counted which is probably why he pulled away. But there are almost no remaining votes at all now.

They are not incompetent, they got the nomination with explicit establishment support. And as awful as Trump is, the media narrative was definitely biased in Hillary's favor. It is just that all of that didn't matter in the end. That is the beauty or ugliness of democracy.

In the end, the signs where there, Bernie got a lot of independent and working class votes but DNC ignored it and chose to go with Hillary who polled terribly with independents but well with registered democrats. Well guess what.. democrats would have voted for Bernie no matter what but Hillary seemingly lost the other vote share he was bringing in. With these margins, even if Bernie had taken away 10% of working class Trump votes in places in Michigan, PA.. that would have carried the day.

Basically this. Hes a class A bullshitter and i've yet to seem any realistic political plan from him. It's all grandiose claims and smoke and mirrors.
