Depending on who those new signings end up being that's a pretty average look team so far

I thought the whole point they re-signed Luiz and Cedric was because they're really skint.

They're not going to sign a new right back after signed Cedric. They are also not going to sign 3 starting XI midfield in 1 summer window. I think they will sign 3 new players for their starting XI at max or less and the next targets will be in 2021 summer window. Probably CB, Midfield & creative player. This is probably their realistic new XI next summer and Arteta probably change the formation depends on the opposition.
Leno
CB Luiz Mari
Cedric/Bellerin - Partey - Xhaka -Tierney
Pepe/Saka - Aubameyang - Grealish

But then again I'm not an Arsenal fans anyway.

If we get Partey over the line, we'd need a new starting CB (Upamecano is the most obvious but might cost too much) and a creative midfielder: linked with Szoboszlai from Salzburg.
Partey + Szoboszlai = 70/80M so not sure how much would be left and if that'd be enough to get a good CB. We don't really have somebody we're willing to let go that would fetch us good funds. As bad as Lacazette is at the moment, selling him and having only Auba+Nketiah/Martinelli is very risky.

He's already 29 and doesn't offer enough for end product. Let him go to Atletico, get the money while you can and get someone younger.

My point was if he was sold, it would be to have the money to fix our terrible defence. There will be a decision to be made between those 2 problems to fix. If only we had a billionaire owner...

We sold Lukaku, didn't buy replacement but have faith in youth & signed a centre back. May be that's what you should be doing on Laca.

Could be good news, could be bad news. Nobody know their true intent at the moment. A few scenarios are explained in the tweet thread.
This could be a massive help to the club and Arteta, (it immediately free up 30/35M that could be used for transfers or clean up the tab at various levels) especially with this year's losses or that could just be the start of a new scheme to get a new loan against the club value and make Arsenal earn them more money in the long run. :nervous:
I'm not sure we'll be able to know which it is since KSE made everything private and no longer have to publish annual accounts.

It's Stan Kroenke. My first guess is he's doing this to benefit him, not Arsenal.

If I could have football the way I like it, I’d have United and Arsenal battling it out for the title again for a few years. And add a bit of prestige back to the title that city and Chelsea have stripped it of.

Arsenal fans - how’s the future looking? Any positives going into next season that things are looking up?

Arsenal have dropped more points from a winning position than any other team in the PL since Arteta came in

That was just a classic Arsenal loss, they get in front, instantly concede due to horrible defending and then despite dominating they somehow lose the match in the last few minutes.

I used to make fun of my friend, who is a long time Arsenal fan....

But not anymore, we have nothing to banter about anymore.

Arsenal need to get rid of Ozil for a start, keeping Aubemeyang, getting a CB in and getting a creative player will make them a much better team.

They are perhaps the furthest they have ever been from major trophies.

Arsenal can sign whoever they want, the culture at the club is pure cancer.

They've made horrible decisions, giving Ozil a 350k contract, not selling Sanchez when given an offer of 50 MP and then having to settle to trade him for a inferior player, and also treat their players like crap. They leaked out Ozil's name during COVID for rejecting the lower salary, and then freezing him out afterwards, abuse their players (Xhaka).

There is a lot of change that needs to occur from top to bottom. Fans need to get a reality check and stop abusing their players non-stop.

I can't imagine why any player would want to sign for them unless they are getting offered much more than any other club.

In my opinion, they must commit to a rebuild by selling Aubameyang, as keeping him will only lead to another Özil situation and people will just say that the same thing has happened again.

I'm convinced people only like Arteta because he's a glamourous looking manager. If he looked like Warnock and came from Stoke people would be rightly calling out how shite he has been. Ole in comparison is a tactical genius.

That was all Wenger. Poor poor decision by him.

Yea but the board should've been assertive and rejected that. You need a strong board, imagine if we followed Jose and went by his demands. Sell Martial, sign Perisic, William and Alderweireld.

Wenger should have also been let go much before he was, he wasn't tactically or mentally strong enough to lead that Arsenal team. Though not being able to let him go until he wanted to leave was understandable given just how influential he was.

In my opinion, they must commit to a rebuild by selling Aubameyang, as keeping him will only lead to another Özil situation and people will just say that the same thing has happened again.
Agree with this. Aubamayeng isn't showing the motivation to be there and him staying would be about money more than ambition to do well, similar to Ozil and Sanchez back in 2018. Arsenal need to sell him while he has value and rebuild, going by younger players might be the best option.

I wonder if they'll go 30 years without a title like Liverpool. They're halfway.

Wow, what a sad stat.

They are just weak mentally and I'm not sure Arteta's the man to change that.

Seems the Arsenal rebuild is gonna continue for years to come and though my brother's a fan, I just can't find much joy in their misfortune and I just hope they can become a proper rival once again..

Look at Arsenal and Burnley's remaining fixtures, there's only goal difference between them... Any chance Burnley finish ahead of them?!

That tackle.
I literally loled when I saw that. It was hilarious because it was his mistake that allowed Kane to get in the box in the first place.

I can't believe he's a professional defender playing in a top (relatively speaking) club.

I can give arteta benefit of doubt for his clown defenders but not playing saka was a strange choice. Also their attacking play has not looked that impressive. Spurs were their for the taking but I found arsenal too slow today when in possession. He definitely needs to improve their attacking play.

Nothing surprised. Isn't that's what they have been. When they are favourite, they don't win (Leicester, Spurs, Brighton & Aston Villa). When they are not favourite, they win (Southampton, Liverpool, City, & even against us).
