Canvani, Telles and Dembele/Sancho/Sarr will be another excellent summer. Alongside DVDB. Our board spoils our fans so much, yet all they can do is complain about the lack of backing, yet we are one of the most backed clubs in football.

The market doesn't look as bad as it looked few days ago now. Regardless of Sancho's situation, we have signed 3 very good players and all will help us improve this season. Excited about the prospect of Cavani and Telles in our attack.

Should be a good season. People need to stop with the "Ole not being backed up" though.

You're giving them credit for a transfer which hasn't happened...

A bit funny that everybody thought Ed would leave it late, until to deadline they. And this is actually happening. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

So outside of vdb let's look at our potential signings.

A 33 year old injury prone back up striker on 200k who scored a whopping 4 goals in 600 minutes in the farmers league last season.

A back up lb whose biggest strength is putting in high crosses, a tactic that we don't use much or at all as we have no actual target man forwards.

A winger who missed 40 games last season and has known attitude issues/ a winger whose price we refuse to pay so we won't be signing him/ a winger from a relegated side whose g+a contribution is the same as that of Dan James.

Yup rubbish ole if he can't win CL and PL with these greats, he should be sacked on spot and all fans should accept the greatest ceo of the world that is woodward after who else could assemble this team of world beaters except the great ed, may be the great ed will manage team too next season and show everyone how to win trophies and shut up his haters for good.

I am implying if we get those wingers it will be an excellent summer. Without them, it would just be a decent summer.

Cavani is a top striker, that is why he is on such a high wages. He was bought to give us experience and quality depth in the st role. he was bought to replace Martial.

We need backup for shaw. Telles is a good backup and has played at the highest level. Another good signing.

Managers has done well with much less. our fans has been spoiled.

Your top class striker scored 4 goals in the whole season in the farmers league, I shudder to think what you consider poor striker.

Need Telles, Cavani, Sancho and a CB like Upamecano, should be selling the likes of Smalling, Jones and James at cut prices.

So many problems with the squad.

One day remains. Transfer Deadline Day is upon us.

Expecting Cavani and Sancho to be announced soon.

Any more additions? 1 or 2?

I'm expecting it to be a busy day - think the Spurs result will spring us into action.

Yeah we really do but pretty sure Leipzig would tell us to get lost if we approached them

He is trading Berlusconi style where a squad renewal = 'as a new signing'

I don't understand this club. We first give Sanchez a ridiculous salary. Then we spend most of the time getting rid off him. Once we do we end up signing a 33 year old crock on huge salary. We give the likes of Romero, Jones and Rojo long term contracts on silly salary only to try and get rid off them few months later. We also have 2 of the most paid goalkeepers in the EPL (DDG and Henderson) with Romero not that far away. We sign Ighalo on loan on ridiculous salary, we then beg his club to retain him till January only to go on and bring Cavani on huge salary as well. Now we're in for Dembele a young player with a long injury record and a toxic attitude. That despite having a group of genuinely talented young players that can easily be influenced by him.

No one expected United to buy Sancho at the beginning of the transfer window. We knew that covid was going to hit us hard and that we needed to improve the quality strength in depth. In fact most of us would have been happy if we added a CB, a LB, a MC and a RW on the cheap. If United signed Gabriel, Telles, VDB and Rodriguez/Willian/Chiesa/Under/Kluivert on similar terms Everton/Arsenal/Juventus/Leicester/RB Leipzig signed him then we would have been happy. But no, United had to go for the big name. They had to drag it right till the end and then go in full panic mode soon afterwards. That's silly

Rise and shine muppets!

At least 2 confirmed transfers coming today. Possibly a 3rd with the Uruguayan kid. Maybe even a 4th with a right winger.

I mean we’ll still lose 6 of our next 7 games, but at least we’ll have new players to lose with

Reality is, right now, we're barely a mid-table, and our business reflects it.

Horrendous signings all around, but unfortunately, it's the sign of the times at our football club right now.

Our supposed transfer business so far:

Van De Beek - Squad player.
Maybe Dembele - Sick note, on a loan
Cavani - 33 year old striker, who has barely played in the last 12 months - let alone at the pace required to play in the premier league
Telles - a LB who is out of contract in 6 months and would go for free.

Absolute fecking shit show from the men above.

Feels like a Captain Jack Sparrow moment, where he says 'you're the worst pirate I've ever heard of' and Jack says 'but you have heard of me'.

He shouldn't have said it, and I very much doubt other posters feel the same way

Cause United operate in a silo, the levels of **** have reached new levels recently on here.

Sancho was possible, the club tried to bully Dortmund who never changed their asking price - in the grand scheme of Covid this billion pound plus football club can barely claim to be paupers; we found € for VdB who to all intents & purposes was on his way to Madrid, we’re paying a decent wage & agents fees for Cavani; Telles deal will still cost over €20mil all-in then we’re onto possibly Dembele.

Stop making excuses for the club.

Your post speaks as if the fanbase is a monolith. ‘No one’ :annoyed:

I assure you I am not making excuses for the club quite the contrary. What I am saying is that most of the United fans I know are reasonable. We understand the covid crisis and we would have given a thumbs up to a transfer window that addressed the team's current issues and allowed us to move to the right direction. What most of us can't understand is spending so much time on a signing we weren't ready to pay the money for in the first place only to probably end up with two injury prone players no one wants, one of whom is renowned to have a shit attitude. I thought we learnt our lesson from the Sanchez and Bastian deal.

In's
Cavani - Free 12/18month contract (wages also funded by Igahlo's Jan departure).
Telles - £13.5million
Sancho - £95million
Donny - 39mil

Spend - £147.5million

Outs
Igahlo (See above)
Pereira - £15million SSLazio
Smalling - £15million Roma
Phil Jones - Fleetwood Town ;)
Juan Mata - £2million SSLazio
Lingard - A cheeky last min loan bid from Sheffield, Southampton, or maybe Fulham??
Rojo - £8million Benfica/Porto, return to Argentina
Sergio Romero - £8Million Everton
Dalot - 14million AC Milan

Sales -
£62million
Looks like I was right on two out of the top three. I'd like to add I think the board will scramble a Dembele deal over the line.

Woodward really ought to be delegating the tasks of player departures and get at least 3 or 4 of the deadwood out.

Godfrey is an interesting one. Still only 22 and we needed CB depth but 25-30m potentially is quite a steep fee. Hopefully he settles in well and the protection from Allan and Doucoure will help him more than what he had at Norwich. A good mix of signings from us though.

Kean to PSG is confirmed also. Really odd one that. He has potential but he’s never getting in front of DCL while he’s in the form he is in and he’s not shown that he can get in front of him during his time with us.

I'm quite surprised it's been so quiet so far. You normally hear by now whether any big deals are going to happen.. don't you?

A broken down, has been striker and Telles will likely be the extent of our business, I really hope we don't piss away more money by buying mediocrity like Brooks or Sarr.
