You can just tell CNN are itching to call it because they are making a lot of effort in explaining why they haven't yet, but are talking on air as if Trump can't come back in PA.

That relic of the past got 48/50 states this cycle, closer than any other models.
The fact is Silver/Cohn/Wasserman/Enten work for major media outlets, so their work by default got more credibility with the public, even though a big part of it is just punditry, while academics like Sabato/Wang/McDonald actively provide public good with their less heralded work and smaller audience. Rachel Bitecofer (albeit a clout chaser) got all of the house races right in 2018 and she isn’t lauded anywhere near the former group, because her method stands in stark contrast with their DC sentiment that moderates do better in elections and persuasion of the tiny 5% independents and soft partisans is the way to go. Guess what, 70 millions down the drain for the Lincoln project and Trump won more Republican votes than 2016 (93-7 vs 90-9)
