What?! I'm going off of what she said. We're both assuming that she isn't lying and the guy stepped to her as if to fight and only backed down until another guy stepped in. Did you watch the same video?!
Take your hand off it.

SHE was trying to tear down the sign that he was scribbling his name on.

His experience is not hers. She limited his point of expression because she felt that sign being there was disrespectful. The fact he was there and signing a Biden Harris sign suggests that he’s probably on her ‘Team’.

If she wants his support tomorrow, and people like him, let him celebrate his victory. Nothing suggests that the kid was being a dick. It’s not like he was putting a MAGA sign up.

Appreciate that he may have got butt hurt and defensive. But putting him on blast for the engagement? Self defeating. She sounds more Karen than MLK.

America is fascinating.

From the outside looking in with a passing interest, Sanders seems like a good reasonable man but he seems to be painted as some kind of dangerous renegade in America. It's weird.
Yes, He's classed as the radical left over there. But none of his policies are really that radical, he’s a pragmatist who fights to un-rig the system and that scares Establishment politicians in both parties.

The iron rod symbolism is just another projection of their desire for power and control over other people. It's always been about the contest between this lust for power-over vs. live-and-let-live.

Evangelicals like phallic-symbol iron-rods. "Proud Boys" like phallic-symbol assault rifles. It's all the same coin.

His competency doesn't make him less dangerous, unfortunately. I mean, imagine if Trump was actually competent, instead of wildly flailing.
Oh I didn't say anything about being less dangerous :)

I'm proud to have voted at every single election since 2006 and not once for his party. That includes parliamentary, local, and EU elections. Fat lot of good it did but still. At least I live in the city that hates them, by and large.

American politics is a nice break from the Hungarian scene for me, not least because some of it is so alien - and so entertaining. Or, well, it would be a nice break if it didn't have a massive effect on the rest of the world as well.

AOC did say, quite rightly, that in any other western nation, Biden and progressives like her and Sanders would not be in the same party. But because of the two party system, the Republicans are largely right to far right and the Democrats are largely centrists to center left, with some progressive tendencies every now and again.

It is difficult because when you indoctrinate entire generations for 60, 70, 80 etc some years about the dangers of communism and when one of your nations greatest and most celebrated achievements is their victory in the Cold War, largely on the basis of an ideological differences between capitalism and communism, even the hint of the word "socialism" immediately scares people off. There are other complicated processes that go into this, like the defunding of school systems in the United States, as well as the sheer hypocrisy of revolting against "socialism" for poor people but clearly supporting candidates who advocate corporate welfare, but the mere whisper of socialism is enough to turn off many voters. The opposition has done a pretty effective job at linking government funded health and welfare programs, higher tax rates on the rich and corporations, and even green energy, with communism.

It even seems like Trump was pretty effective with Florida Cuban voters because he effectively linked the Democratic party, with people like Sanders and AOC, with Communism even though Biden is one of the more centrist candidates in American politics.

Budapest?
Yes. Fidesz suffered crushing defeats in the capital in both the 2018 parliamentary elections and in last year's local elections. Not quite "Republicans in Philadelphia" but considering the stranglehold they have on the rest of the country, it's pretty fecking great. Look at the map of district mayors - orange is Fidesz, brown is independent supported by Fidesz, green is opposition:

This guy doesn't even have a wikipedia page ffs... but looks like an Army Special Forces guy that was in and out of active duty (vs time in reserves), turned consultant for DoD a while ago. At least his academic accolades seem ok for people in the defense field, with MA from Naval War College and some unspecified degrees from Naval College of Command and Staff and Army War College. No clear indication if he's a stooge.

I am scared of Tucker Carlson. He is incredibly intelligent while being a cnut of the highest order. He is gonna be Trump on steroids without having Trump's baggage.

I feel that a lot of what is happening is in the West is due to the misuse of free speech.
When I was in the US, I overheard a girl calling her black classmate the n word, in which she and her uncle both defended that it is their rights under the first amendment. Even the teachers could not do anything.

So does free speech also include hateful language, misrepresentation of information, and fake news? If governments were to clamp down on these, they would be seen as a being fascist and clamping down on free speech.
The government generally doesn't get involved, however private companies, academic initiations, and a range of other organizations can ban such behavior and fire/expel anyone who violates their rules.

He's going to try and pull something with the nuclear codes isn't he? :nervous:
Perhaps. But, no doubt we are right where we were during the last few months of Nixon’s drunken backslide into the Watergate hearings. Unofficially, the JCS weren't going to follow order of any such magnitude issued by Nixon.
