I thought the replies would be people ridiculing him, not fully agreeing with him. Jesus wept.
Yeasterday there were thousands of similar replies to someone pointing out a story in the fecking Daily Mail as ultimate proof that the narrative they started writing that it would be all over after election day (essentially so they could deny the existence of the virus negating the need to take any action on it) was correct.

The ego on these people to think that the whole world would feck over their economies for a year just to get a different 70 year old man into the White House. Lunatics.

Close margins. I'm sure a recount will turn it around for Donny.
:lol:Just like Wisconsin, they won’t pay for it. They will push donors for money for “the fight” but then will pocket it all the while shouting “fix!”. The stupidity of the donors can not be underestimated.

Basically she has lost her business, her HS daughter is confined to room (no in person school) and no longer want's to go to college, and the family has crushing student loan debt. She sees people celebrating Biden as celebrating a fraud and she want's Trump to fight to the bitter end because she thinks he cares about her and will help get her out of this situation. You could hear the anguish, anger and panic in her voice.
This is the key delusion that is totally inexplicable to me. Why do these people think Trump cares about them at all? He cares about getting their vote. After that he cares about himself and his own, and seemingly nothing or nobody else. I can't see a single thing he has done in his career which has not been an aggressive act against something rather than for something or to enrich himself and (purely by the consequence of that) those like him.

It's always amazing to me that the same people who derisively call Islam a violent religion are so quick to invoke God when performing or advocating violence against others.

It’s almost as if making everything antagonistic doesn’t really lead to good outcomes...

Not supporting either her or the guy, but if people could stop pretending that every single minute of every single day MATTERS that would be great.
?? If you're living it every day and are fighting it everyday as I imagine lots of black Americans are then I get why it would be frustrating. I'm not even entirely sure what that second sentence is supposed to mean truth be told.

Im sure the kid was excitable in a moment of celebration. I don’t know if he was 15 or 25. But just pressing pause for a night and uniting around one action is possible.

The world, and people, are complicated. She probably spoke to the camera in criticism for longer than she spoke to a guy that was just squiggling on a sign.

Setting fire to every single incident like this, is stupid. It’s just stupid.

Trying to get in on the Paula White meme action. They are equally deranged, but Bachmann's is never going to make a good Eminem remix. Better luck next time, Michele.

From her account the kid was about to get physical/elevate the situation until someone stepped in and quelled it. I agree that it's not always helpful to get so riled up by people being excited idiots caught up in the moment, especially after such a heated election. I also get why a black person would be upset if hoards of white people were showing a complete lack of regard for a mural dedicated to black people murdered by police.

Why are American politicians such total idiots out of interest? Imagine making Boris look like a half competent adult.

I understand all sides of it. He was probably a thoughtless dick. She probably had the moral high ground.

But she loses it by making the video.

There is a groundswell of support for all movements promoting equality and equity from the young/white demographic that she criticised. Taking probable ‘allies’ (I hate that term) to task on a night they are celebrating the tearing down of a far right government.... very short sighted.

People run way too hot.

Twitter already hinted that once he's no longer president they can block his account for misconduct just like they do with regular users. Personally I think that's the right thing to do. He's just lost a US election and blames it on fraud that's more than enough material to build some sort of martyrdom conspiracy. Being blocked on Twitter pales in comparison to this, in the eyes of his followers he's already a martyr for a much bigger cause. But blocking him a) sends the message that the same rules apply to everyone and b) takes away his (unfiltered) reach.

Also, not punishing stuff like this because his followers might turn it against you is a weak argument, IMO. First, they'll always do that even with the slightest actions interpretable against him and second it effectively elevates this guy above the rules just because he's got a bunch of lunatics who get mad when they don't get their way. Be clear with your rules and consequent with their execution - simple.
I 'm sorry I disagree, that is not the argument.

For all his tweeting from the Oval office as President, he still lost. Removing him from twitter, after he lost, looks cowardly, (if his content is wrong why did they not have the courage to do it whilst he was President?) It also looks to be vindictive, something the President Elect is anxious to avoid. Not a wise move in my opinion and will only pour more petrol on the flames, not what America needs right now. Also it guarantees the 'story' will continue to be about Trump, he will still be setting the narrative. The new administration needs to heal and bring people together to fight Covid. If Biden does not grab the headlines and control and produce the narrative, he will become a 'lame duck' President for most of his tenure, especially if he loses the Senate.

One thing nobody would ever accuse Trump of being is 'Magnanimous', that is exactly what Joe Biden needs to show " I'm the bigger man Donald Trump!"

America is fascinating.

From the outside looking in with a passing interest, Sanders seems like a good reasonable man but he seems to be painted as some kind of dangerous renegade in America. It's weird.
It’s that old thought problem/question that’s always thrown around.

If Sanders could snap his fingers, implement his policies and force people to live with them for a year, then ask them after a year if they want to throw it all away.... 90%+ would keep it all and ask for more.

Really? I think the guy probably lost it by getting aggressive in the first place! Was he not the one running hot?! Go out and celebrate, sure. Rip things down/scribble shit on murals, borderline. Throwing your weight about with a woman when they take issue with your behaviour, you probably need to cool off a bit. A lot of friction exists between the Democratic Party and BLM so it's really not that simple to be honest. I can imagine why for people that have been campaigning and fighting for racial justice for a lot longer than Trump has been in power will get annoyed if people do shitty things.

You’ve invented half of that. He tried to sign a Biden/Harris sign. The girl ripped it down as she saw it’s existence as being disrespectful to the mural.

Neither of us know anything about the situation. I’m advocating for calm. You’re advocating for antagonistic action.

I don’t know why. I feel that you didn’t even listen to it as you’re arguing against her actions and defending his. Odd.

I suspect that at its heart his agenda is about building a new ''American Dream' which will be the antithesis of the current one, and that makes him weird to many Americans.... but perhaps not to as many as there use to be?

Most of these evangelicals stand for the polar opposite of what Jesus actually said. All they do is substitute their own personal desires and then believe that if they express these "in God's name" - with a bit of hand waving and eyes closed all mixed in - it will happen.

He taught his followers to turn the other cheek. But she rants on about wanting God to smash all things Democrat with his iron rod.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Salty Trump supporter being salty shocker.
He won his election, he's just being a dick.

He's also 25, and 25-year olds are universally bad people.

I think I remember this guy, actually. He lied about a car accident preventing him from getting into the Naval Academy (he wasn't getting in anyway). He sued his friend's insurance company over the crash (and lost). He runs a real estate firm which has no employees (and no income). Oh yeah, and he dropped out of college.

When Americans send people to Congress, they're not sending their best.

Healthcare = socialism in the US. Sanders is basically Fidel Castro.

More guns than people, Presidents handpicking nutters for the highest court in the land, cream in coffee, they are an odd bunch.

I feel that a lot of what is happening is in the West is due to the misuse of free speech.
When I was in the US, I overheard a girl calling her black classmate the n word, in which she and her uncle both defended that it is their rights under the first amendment. Even the teachers could not do anything.

So does free speech also include hateful language, misrepresentation of information, and fake news? If governments were to clamp down on these, they would be seen as a being fascist and clamping down on free speech.

You don't have the right to be not offended.
I'm no fan of hateful or discriminatory speech but I'm ok with the laws as they are.

It's crazy. They use their platform like an informal chat room, and seem to be free to spread misinformation and hoaxes akin to your typical hysterical conspiracy theorist. If my MP operated his social media platform in the same way a lot of American (particularly Republican) politicians do, I'd be shocked. Even more so than I currently am, since my MP is Rees-Mogg.

This is out of an article of the Guardian and exactly the way I see it, too:

Twitter’s policy around newsworthiness protects certain people – such as elected officials with more than 250,000 followers – from having their accounts suspended or banned for rule infractions that would otherwise lead to severe penalties.

That policy is what has led to the company muting, but not removing, at least 12 tweets from the US president over the past week that cast doubt on the democratic process.

But, Twitter has confirmed, the policy does not apply to former elected officials. They have to follow the same rules as everyone else, and if a tweet breaks those rules, it gets removed. Were Trump to continue breaking Twitter’s rules regularly post-presidency, his account could be suspended.
Twitter makes exceptions for elected officials which I find understandable. But everybody else has to comply to the same rules. The only reason why you'd make an exception for Trump is that you fear the reactions of his followers.

And yes, I agree that the new administration needs to unite America again. However, there's a reason that Twitter implemented these policies in the first place and that was to protect individuals without media competence from being manipulated. The mass media was always criticized because it could manipulate the population, we've seen this being exploited numerous times in dictatorships, most prominently probably in Nazi Germany. That's why controlling organs were implemented. Social media enabled everybody to have such a huge audience and in the last 5-6 years, people began exploiting it. Twitter made those decisions because it needed to implement such instruments to prevent mass manipulation. Trump is probably the most notorious example of this so IMO it's the dumbest thing to allow him to continue as if nothing has happened. If that makes him a martyr, so be it. The other option would be way worse because you'd enable him to infect new people.

Not sure what you are on here, if numbnuts won't heal because Trump is banned from twitter, then they are not going to heal by having Trump spout divisive bollocks. You don't know what Biden is anxious about, definitely not "not banning Trump". Twitter weren't being cowardly by not banning him while he was president because the moron was using that medium to communicate policy decisions. They can ban him now because he's not president anymore. It's not vindictive, it's basic Twitter rules that you agree to abide by while you sign up for that platform. Obviously, him being president put him on a unique standing.

I wish I can shake the dust at your feet and watch you being destroyed like Sodom and and Gomorrah though

What?! I'm going off of what she said. We're both assuming that she isn't lying and the guy stepped to her as if to fight and only backed down until another guy stepped in. Did you watch the same video?!
