I personally know a few people who won't vote for him purely because they think he's too old. I don't get it though. Surely they're aware there is such a thing as a Vice President?
Yeh but they aren't voting for the other guys ideas Are they?

Possibly although I can't see it hurting his poll number too much because Biden leaks brain juice on a daily basis and is still top of the polls and the people Bernie needs to win over to get the nomination won't care or even hear of this news. I'm guessing it will others a reason to double down on their candidate, the real worry I have is that it can be just minor surgery but the campaign has been suspended until further notice which isn't a great sign.
I think it's the only thing they'll hear.

At the risk of looking stupid by claiming to know about American people when the only one I know in real life dislikes it so much she has only been there a couple times in the last decade...

I think normal people there know Bernie Sanders. He's the old guy they sorta remember from last time who likes socialism and shouts a lot. I don't think they know much more than that and I think they're now going to add 'has a dodgy heart' to that. Cause it's such an easy thing to understand and it feels black and white. He has had heart surgery, that much isn't going to be disputed.

Biden's mental deterioration is not clearcut to those of us who aren't nerds. It's 'just an opinion' and easy to dismiss. He's not had to say publicly that he has to undergo treatment for it.

As a expert in this field(I've seen all seasons of friends plus other show with the cartoon people.)I'm........hoping they don't add this bit. Or that they'll just forget about it due the 24 hours news hell world we live in, Trump will tweet something in a few hours, a horrific act will happened somewhere. The fact Sanders should really lose some points in the polls because of this health scare means the reality will be he'll stay at 22%.

Yeah good point I didn't really think of it like that.

It seems to be accepted that Bernie would have chosen Nina Turner and she’s similar enough. If not her then probably someone with progressive ideas.

Do you know who they are voting for ?
I don’t. One girl says she’s probably not gonna vote. :houllier:

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Bernie is the only one I am voting for.
In that case I guess you're not voting, because Bernie was already falling behind. Now he's going to have the "old man who might die in his first term" thing hanging over him. It's a bit like Hillary and that fainting spell or whatever she had. And that's if Bernie stays in the race in the first place.

I mean I think they're both much too old for the candidacy, but are Sanders supporters really still going for the Biden's falling apart line after Sanders is in hospital after heart surgery?

The lack of self awareness is astonishing. Particularly after all the grief Clinton got when she fainted.

Everyone thinks Biden's falling apart. It's not a Sanders thing.

I mean its a hell of a reach that if Biden is getting that, Sanders will be immune to the same attacks after this.

Regardless I do find it extremely amusing people have genuinely deluded themselves into thinking that if Sanders couldn't win the Democrat Candidacy, which by its nature is much further left voters, he would still somehow be the best candidate for the actual election.

I don't think many think he will be immune. I think most people of his supporters are extremely worried tonight.

I think without the heart thing he would've been best placed to beat Trump. Not that I think any of them will beat Trump.

Can someone please explain to me how if the furthest left candidate couldn't win the Democrate primaries, how he would somehow fare best of all actual candidates among all voters? If Democrate voting moderates don't want him, there isn't a chance he's the best bet among swing voters. There's literally no logic to it.

It has all the parralels with Corbyn in the UK who's supporters echo chambered themselves into thinkin everyone was a convert in waiting.

Swing voters arent the only people who dont vote. Theres all sorts of non voters who are further to the left than normal democrats who thus dont vote because no one represents them and there are even more non voters who dont actively follow politics who could be engaged by a campaign that specifically seeks them out like Bernard would have. Then you've got the fact that Hillary was extremely unpopular and her support was paper thin and the enthusiasm gap cost her in the general election. Or that her campaign was the worst campaign in memory. She didn't visit Wisconsin, outspent trump 4 to 1, one of her surrogates (Schumer) explicitly said "for every blue collar Democrat we lose in Western Pennsylvania we will gain two moderate Republican women in the philly suburbs" and then she lost the vote among white women.

There are lots of reasons to believe that he would have won.

The Democratic party is hollowed out.
It has long ago abandoned the voters it claims to represent.

It is fully owned by corporations. Their preferred candidate has promised to work with Republicans who are currently supporting a traitor.

As for Bernie, he will recover and be out there fighting again for the people in a week.

My highly scientific analysis is that America elects the one they find most interesting.

The main thing Hillary, Romney, McCain, Kerry and Gore have in common is they were dull as feck.

Bernie is objectively the most interesting of the candidates. He has a personality that is easy to remember and his views aren't things Americans are used to.

Warren needs to make herself interesting. Start claiming her ancestors spoke to hear in a dream about how she had to save America from the white man. Something like that.

His views are what Americans want but wont be given by both parties because they go against profits.

Trump will destroy Warren.

I think Trump will narrowly beat Warren. I also think you should vote for her, if she's the candidate. The fact she might win and tepid attempts to slow the climate crisis can then resume, without Trump, is worth voting for. Tepid attempts will save many lives.
