Texas is a state that voted for Trump by 14, and even Ted Cruz, someone nobody appears to like, by 9, why expext anything else out of Texas now? Senator Paxton would be on par for the course.

Closer than 2024 due to a better environment? I'm sure, but probably not enough to overcome Texas being Texas.

Because Talarico is a white Protestant who can speak the same language as those on the middle and even religious right in Texas.

The religious right? If there is one group that couldn't care less about what Jesus preached, it would be them.

Its a political movement, they want a nationwide abortion ban, women back in the kitchen(no welfare programs though) and that sort of stuff, its not about morality.

In fact, they'd probably feel insulted that some liberal teacher is trying to co-opt "their" religion.

Might pick off someone in the middle, i guess.

Platner is probably the template progressives will want in the future. Someone who actually feels connected to the working class and not just the product of social media influencers.

There are twitter people attempting to smear Platner with being the next Fetterman, but personally I don't see any similarities between the two. Seems more like a cheap smear for clicks among various Twitter accounts.
 
They're pulling all stops to unseat Thomas Massie. Here you have, the Secretary of War who flew to Kentucky to campaign against THOMAS MASSIE, the one Republican who actually opposes another forever war.

The Secretary of War. In the middle of a war. Campaigning in a primary congressional race just to make a fckn point.

Trump finally endorsed Texas AG Paxton over Cornyn in the Texas Senate race. Happy about that Paxton is so awful and that is saying something in a runoff with the decrepit Cornyn. Talarico has a chance against either I think but he's got to reach White voters and Latinos especially some of whom may have voted for trump all 3 times but regret it possibly.
 
Shame about Massie, he was a real thorn in the side of Trump, pedophiles and Israel, but hopefully it won't be so important if the midterms go against Trump, pedophiles and Israel.

The fence sitters need to be shown that MAGA is utterly devoid of moral. Ousting one of their own because he’s against pedophilia affirms that unequivocally.

Also, let’s not pretend that Massie was a force for good just because he’s against Epstein and the Iran War. The guy is still a raging libertarian dickhead who would gladly vote to stymie any real progressive agenda.

I live in Kentucky and Massie didn’t even have the stones to say why he was being primaried in his ads. We knew it was because of the Epstein files but all of his ads were about how much he loves Trump. He should have shown the guts he showed when he worked to release the Epstein files and not cowered.

I mean he was a force for good notably on the Epstein push and vocalising oppostion to the wars and Israel, but you're right that his politics more broadly are terrible and as he liked to point out he votes with Republicans 98% of the time. That's why preferably you wouldn't need to rely on Republicans to.

Cannot help but feeling lots of schadenfreude for Trump fecking Cornyn, as he did McTurtle before. Those two and Thune could have fecked Trump forever 5 years ago and decided to not do it. So call me surprised that the leopard ate their face.

Hopefully Thune next, after the criticized Trump's fund on 'the victims of insurrection'.

He also supported and voted with Trump's policies 90% of the time, just because he was a thorn in his side on the other stuff doesn't make him any less of a twat

The most interesting (perhaps not the right word here), will be how extreme the Republicans take it when it comes to policing the voting places with ICE and other law enforcement. This could be something we haven’t seen before.
 
So whats going to be excuse once the republicans win the midterms? Country fecked or voting rigged?
