3 players from the past you were indifferent to that you'd have back in a heartbeat now?

I did rate him but certainly didn’t appreciate him and preferred not to see him start...more so because I loved the Cole Yorke partnership.

I give you Teddy Teddy Teddy Teddy Sheringham

Berba would be so ideal for us right now as a No.10. Great target man, great link up player and scores a decent amount of goals. We were so stacked in attack in 2009.
Oh but he doesn't press the ball against the big 6 like Jesse. You have to put him on the bench with Pogba for the big would games so says the Caf

Pardew 'wanted pace'
Veron, Nani, Brown.

DDG
AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Brown
Veron
McTominay Pogba
Nani Martial Rashford

That would absolutely transform our team.

Andy Cole - I never warmed to him and never rated him.

Nani - He infuriated me for a long time, but on his day he was brilliant. He'd walk into our team now.

Tom Cleverley - An actual midfield option!

Nani and Kagawa.

But even Manucho would be an upgrade on Lingard so it probably isn't saying much.

A prolific striker that I never truly appreciated, and still don't. I tend to feel ambivalent for a striker of his profile. As you know, ouf domestic rivals at the time were Arsenal. Well, my indifference to a striker of his ilk was exacerbated by Arsenal having the likes of Berkamp, and Henry in their starting berth - elite technical ability, creative, selflessness, individual brilliance, and the elegant demeanor which made them mesmerizing at times. I'm quite fond of dynamic forwards like Bebeto, Romario, R9, Henry, Benzema (Lyon), Torres at A.Madrid and Liverpool, Rooney (06/07) etc. I'm quite fond of selfless strikers like Cantona, Berkamp, Rooney, Benzema (Real Madrid), Firmino, etc. I'm quite fond of forwards that score worldies like Mark Hughes, Vialli, Recoba. Some of these overlapp, of course.

In any case, RVN would do well in our current side for a number of reasons, I won't go into all of them, or even most of them. I think he'd particularly make the most of the incessant crosses from D.James.

Pique
If the previous mention of RVN would address United's issue of not being able to score in a fecking brothel, then Pique would address United's defence being more leaky than a teenager that just discoverd porn.

Verón
Verón was vociferiously praised by millions. Who can forget this performance

Whilst I liked him from a distance, it was only when he was announced as a United player that I became indifferent. Most of the time, I don't get excited when United announce a player that is already considered to be world class.

United have a mezzala in Pogba, dangerous in the half spaces, and inherently capable of playing a pass which is technically difficult to execute. However, he isn't a metronome, and having a player of his attributes (alongside Pogba) would be particularly useful in trying to break down teams with numbers behind the ball.

Sheringham, even after 99 I never really warmed to him but he would be an addition to this squad.
Park, tireless in midfield, his energy would be an asset.
Jonny Evans.Would be an ideal partner for slabhead.

Id love Zaha back, what a terrible decision to sell him. Johnny Evans also, has is better than all our centre half’s other than Maguire.

Indifferent from the past. I really liked most of the Fergie players in one way or another. But i will try:

David May. Very good player, but so much on the bench, time really made him fade a bit.

Forlan. I was very exited when we got him. He didn't really meet my expectations, but i never disliked him. Again maybe forgot him when time pass by.

Saha. Same as Forlan, never really met my expectations, kinda liked him too. But don't really remember him as well.

I'm not sure if i got it right.

Hargreaves is underrated in the CL winning season & mainly due to injuries.
Heinze was our best LB without Evra.
Zaha as a False 9 to compete with Martial.

Players we shouldn't have sold that came after -

Memphis, Blind & Januzaj who still to this day is probably more useful that Mata, pereira & Lingard.

Reading the United section of the caf these days is pretty much a mix of ire and reminiscence. Within that reminiscence, some names get drawn out of the hat and remembered far more fondly than they were during their actual playing career at the club. Nothing wrong with that, but it is an interesting phenomenon and perhaps a sign of how a once genuinely world class side have fallen off post-Fergie.

Players such as Nani and Carrick have had their profiles boosted a lot retrospectively, for example. Again, nowt wrong with it, but interesting, nevertheless.

Anyway, as the title says, which three players whom you didn't particularly rate 'then' would you welcome into the current squad like long lost prodigal sons?
I don't think that's true at all. I remember times during the 2012-13 season when we are all grateful for Carrick's seemingly running the midfield on his own.

Nicky Butt, Andy Cole, Wes Brown. They'd all stroll into our team right now.

You've been on here since 2010, so you must have seen the countless threads about Carrick, not all positive and they got heated with Mozza defending his guy to the death to the point he got a tagline out of it.

Carrick has been a polemicising figure, but I don't think he was ever a player who was hated, rather one that people felt could be upgraded upon.

Retrospectively, he's been elevated to a level of respect and appreciation he didn't have whilst active, well certainly not in the blanket fashion he has now.

Silvestre, Brown, Fletcher, Butt and Berbatov all instantly come to mind and would all improve our team.

Yeah he had his ups and downs, particularly after the Champions League Final in 2009, but I think towards the end of his time, most were pretty aware of how special he was. I'd certainly love to have him back now!

Was going to put Kagawa in, but I rated him when he was here.

I didn't rate them back then so why would I have them back now? None of them have improved and I'm not keen on lowering the bar even further. Every signing should be top three in the squad based on quality.

My top 3:
Pogba
Martial
AWB

I.e. Any signing we make should be better than those players in their respective positions.
None of this makes any sense.

Valencia the winger with his deadly crosses. Did not receive too much appreciation.

Jonny Evans, Nani and Chicharito.
Would all do a job for the remainder of this season no?

feck it, he's still at the club isn't he! Let's just register him in Jan and bring him out of retirement.

Berbatov. I always preferred other strikers to him, and his inconsistency probably annoyed me a bit when he was playing, but I would love to see someone with his ability up front with us.

Di Maria. I can't think of a good alternative as I've loved Nani, Park and Valencia. Initially I was very excited about him, but he perished too quickly to form a true bond. Motivated Di Maria would be a fantastic option for either wing or even for a midfield 3. I strongly dislike him now though.

Wes Brown. I liked the guy, but I had to choose someone! Either as a right back or as a center back option.

What's hard to understand? I'll break it down for you:

- I'd take no one
- We should only sign players that are better than our best
This and your previous reply make so little sense that it's almost impossible to argue!

Kagawa would be excellent in our #10 position. He would be everything we wanted.

Nani on the right side.

Pre injury Saha would be awesome too.
Kagawa never fit into our system, and will definitely NOT in Ole system. He is deem too slow

I remember being consistently incredibly frustrated with Ryan Giggs growing up - he would be the best player in our squad now!

I also never really rated Ole as a player, particularly after the knee op. when he used to trundle up and down the right wing - again would be fantastic in this team

I always rated Brown and Fletcher but they were consistently underrated and would standout in this team

Never liked Tevez, thought he was rubbish. Again - be brilliant in this team!
