As the title suggests, you have 5 players to sign as the new manager in the Summer.

However these players must come from clubs currently in the bottom half of the PL. Who do you go for?

It really is entirely irrelevant. Whatever our recruitment, it will inevitably turn out be every bit as disastrous as all of our other attempt have been for god knows how many years.

You have no idea if he will come back?! Really?
Yes because from a legal point of view if he is not charged I think United would struggle from a contractual perspective to do more than fine him 2 weeks wages

And if the glazers have a potentially 100m asset that has no pending legal cases against him and they have to pay him anyway then I think they will bring him back in the squad.

If he is charged I think its a totally different outcome.

And i don't know if he's going to be charged or not as I'm not privy to the active police investigation.... are you?

Lamperty and Sanchez from Brighton
Raphina and Phillips from Leeds
Tielemans from Leicester

No1 target is a centre forward but there isn't the required quality in the bottom half on of the PL.

  • Ricardo Pereira - RB - Leicester
  • Wesley Fofana - CB - Leicester
  • Kalvin Phillips - DM - Leeds
  • Raphinha - RW - Leeds
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin - CF - Everton
Realistically, I think only DCL might be on the cards. Possibly Raphinha if Leeds go down but this doesn't look all that likely at the moment, I think there's a good chance he leaves if they stay up but I'd imagine they will be better positioned to select bids and they won't want him going to Utd.

Phillips would never join I don't think (cue somebody mentioned Alan Smith), Pereira has just signed a new long-term deal at Leicester so would be pretty expensive and he's 28. Fofana would also be very costly and I can't see United spending £60m+ on a CB with the resources they've invested in Maguire and Varane.

This makes this thread a little less fun because the picks will be kinda common.

For me:
CB Guehi
DM Ndidi
RW Raphinha
RB Lamptey
ST Calvert Lewin/Watkins

Ok, now I'm gonna go a little off topic and look for a general rebuild(not from just Prem).

Firstly, sell Rashford and co to get some money and make space in the wage bill. Still have to go out and spend big.

These players are my pick:

CB Milan Skriniar/Matthias De Ligt(spend big)
RB Matty Cash
DM Declan Rice(spend big; he's young and a leader)
CM Auriel Tchouameni
RW Moussa Diaby
ST Robert Lewandowski(available for a cut price this summer)

The 11 would look something like this:

-----------------------------------DDG---------------------------------

Cash---------Skriniar/MDL---------Varane---------Shaw

‐---------------------Rice-------------------Tchoua----------------

Diaby-------------------Bruno/Pogba----------------Sancho

-----------------------------Lewandowski----------------------

With a world class manager this team will easily challenge City and Liverpool for the league.

The deadwood and toxic squad players should be dumped asap. Scout for a few gems from foreign leagues and take a gamble with them. Like Noa Lang.

CD- Jules Kounde (Sevilla)

STR- Calvert-Lewin (Everton)

  • Tielemens

Olise, Raphinha, & Richarlison would probably cover the wages of Rashford's next contract alone.

I'd be over the moon with that.

I was thinking about this this morning and if we are talking worldwide I’d go:

Cash
Skiniar/De Vrij
Theo Hernandez
Tchouameni
Osimhen

- RW - Saint Maximin (more talented than Raphina, would be like Nani in the RW)
- DM - Kalvin Philips
- Midfielder - Bissouma
- Ivan Toney
- RB - Pereira or Livramento, but neither are top level

The first four are better than what we have. There's a lot of talent in the league.

If we signed ASM for the right wing position, I have no doubt he will turn into a LW like Sancho, its just inevitable with him being right footed. Raphinha is left footed and only plays from the right.

If we had to do this we'd be in massive trouble, most of these lists are not that impressive. There's a reason many of these players are at the clubs they are in my opinion. They might be better than their team mates but it doesn't mean they'd add a lot to us.

Someone like Neves is more like what you want from a PL signing (not bottom half of course). Already at a competent side but probably their stand out player at a good age.

A lot of averageness floating about.

Bottom half is a tough one. I guess this will be my picks:

Sanchez (Brighton)
Phillips (Leeds)
Raphinha (Leeds)
Livramento (Southampton)

Can’t think the 5th one.

Mathematics is difficult for many of you I know but Leicester are not bottom half.

Again are you privy to the investigation?

Bail is due to expire on 30th April so we may know before then (or they may extend bail?)
of course not it's just common sense given the publicly available evidence

Has kelvin Phillips been good this season? I've not really seen him due to injuries.

Alot of people seem to want him.

It's clear to everyone apart from you that even if Greenwood doesn't get charged his career as a professional footballer is essentially over.

If [Irrelevant point] (and numerous others) can come back from what he did, then Greenwood, as long as he is not charged, will probably come back too.

Ward- Prowse
Olise
Phillips
Lamptey
Richarlison

Assumes that Phillips can find pre this season form.
livramento/Bissouma could be a reasonable swap for War Prowse and Lamptey if you could only pick one player per club.

If he isn't charged, this absolutely will happen, almost immediately as well in my opinion. I just hope it doesn't happen at United.
