A Pattern of Complacency

I do agree the players are complacent, including our best players like Bruno and Amad, by seeing how they post on social media after each victory.
We have no real leaders to keep the head of players cool. instead, elder players like Bruno would hype his teammates to the moon after a single W

They just don't have it upstairs. This is a recent quote from Dalot

It has to be from inside. It has to be from the anger and drive you need every day to win football games.

"We need to become a bit more obsessed about playing for this club, winning games and winning trophies.

They don't have that burning desire to win or become great. They just need to be good enough to get that next contract.

Strikes again - this Wolves team looked worse than Grimsby, bereft of quality, energy, or confidence. We let off after scoring, but they're hopeless, so what do we do? Let off more until the score.

Who was the person trying a no look dummy in the centre of the park? Feels like these boys have no self awareness.

We are terrible from positions of strength.

Casemiro, who has been phoning it in for most of his time at United and gets praise for the most basic stuff.

Seriously what the feck is going on with the players? They always stop playing after we take the lead, are they just lazy? Do they think they are too good to fight for the full 90 minutes when it's only a PL game? Or is it something else? This was already a thing under ETH so it can't just be a Amorim thing.

That was just arrogance. Look at Amad and how he doesn't bother tracking the guy that eventually gets the assist. THAT'S complacency.

Nothing that backing the manager won't fix

It's tepid, never seen such an inconsistent team. 4/5/6 yard passes straight to the opposition. The starting eleven is bang average and there's no depth.

Mason Mounts is a nothing player, been absolutely anonymous again, yet Amorim persists, sick to death of this persistence with players who can turn up once a month!

Martinez on the bench is he not fit enough to play, let's see Martinez and some freshness on Lacey on at halftime. Take Casemiro off another who's half asleep and put Mainoo on let's see if we can keep the ball for more than 10 seconds.

This team is horrible to watch, been saying that for years.

What’s the alternative at the moment? Zirkzee? Lacey? Putting both Dalot and Dorgu on and moving Amad further forward?

the last 10 minutes of 1st half after Fernandes' goal reminds me of this post.

Every time we are in a position of strength, we drop off. We start to play needless backheels and flicks. We always need a goal conceded to get the heads of our players back.

The mentality of our players need to be fixed.

I’m not sure it’s complacency but more a lack of leadership in key areas. Goalkeeper is new-and is doing pretty well- but I don’t feel confident anyone is taking charge of that defence particularly with Maguire/De Ligt out. Shaw and Maz played well but I always feel there might be a lapse there.

That game sums up United currently. Dire first half, quite good 2nd half.

Is it me or do we think the jobs done once we've scored, you can see the intensity drop and the speed of play plummet, passes going astray, miscontrolling the ball, little one percenters get shoddy.

Were a team who when we move the ball forward quickly, we actually look quite good and create chances and good attacks. I can't understand why we stop doing it, has to be a mentality thing, where we slip into a comfort zone once we have an advantage.

I think the best thing Amorim can do is identify the players who can and can't play at a high intensity level consistently in games, and replace those who can't.

I think Martinez has to come back in from the start as soon as it's suitable. For me the biggest culprits in this lax Mentality at times are the following

Shaw.....Dorgu.....Casemiro....Mount....Dalot....Zirkzee.....Maguire

Mount was a prime case of the above, totally anonymous first half, second half at the centre of all we did well. We need consistency weekly and for the full 90 from the above. Question is are they capable of it

Every time things start to look good, this strikes again. The most sleepy couple of minutes after we went ahead

Another waste. You could see us very obviously let our feet off the gas once we went ahead

It creeps in all the time, Casemiro was awful tonight played in even slower motion should of been hooked at half time.

Not closing down Edwards for the second goal just stood staring at him. Multiple missed tackles, sloppy in possesion. 1st goal no communication with Heaven just goes ambling forward with no intensity and again let's the player make the pass.

Do we need to be braver, as in the coach's, were so passive, were playing Burnley, watching Ugarte and Casemiro tonight Mount and Mainoo in those roles would of defended better and offered way more on the ball.

Mainoo has to start, zero link from defence to Bruno/Cunha with Casemiro and Ugarte
