Had Sterling in his pocket as always. He is outstanding defensively. Has started to show glimpses of class going forward. If he can do that consistently, he will be immense.

He is such a good dribbler, he looks awkward but more often than not keeps the ball and beats the man.

Played very good pass to James, something Young tried all his career and failed.

Sterling was afraid of this guy btw.

Absolutely outstanding today, I've been a big critic so far, especially about his attacking, but even that was on fire today, delighted for him.

Haven't felt as comfortable and confident about a defender in big matches since Vidic. He always puts in at least an 8/10 day against the big boys

Sterling was collecting lint next to his car keys once again today

Defensively he's the best right back in the world. Just needs to work on his offensive game.

Was he this good at Palace? Impressive performance.

And he stopped chewing gums, which makes him twice better. @FootyGirl88

AWB is Sterling's kryptonite. Just his presence seems to take Sterling's game off. It must be so hard as an opposition winger having to try and stand up AWB. He's like a wall, and those long legs can recover almost any situation.

He's been haunting him since he was at Palace , he was shutting him down every time they played

Absolute animal, to all those who considered Meunier over him in summer bow your head in shame.

With three at the back he could focus entirely on Sterling and did that very well. Except for one or two things at the end, he was great today.

His dribbles deserves more love, the one where he should have won penalty and the one right after where he beat defenders and made them look like mugs, just a shoulder drop and quick feet.

The positive is he is showing that he can develop in attacking play. Really improving these last few games.

That dive to block a cross was just insane. Seems to know exactly when to commit to a block and when to hold his position.

Southgate is fortunate to have 2 top RB’s with very different qualities in Aaron and Trent. They should both definitely be going to the Euro’s, Kyle Walker has had his chance.

He loves it against Sterling. For some reason Sterling thinks he can actually take him on in a one v one and gets dominated every single time.

Sounds just like that «so-many-goals» geordiefella.

He looks brilliant in games where we actually need to defend but when we play lesser teams and we need attacking qualities from our fullback thats where he struggles.
Had some good attacking moments though. I am usually his critic but was encouraged by everything in this game. It is his first year at United, lets hope next year his attacking play will be largely improved.

Pep: Sterling, you're playing on the left today.

Sterling: ....

Pep: Relax, we're a team, you can do damage today!

Sterling: boss,

Pep: It's Bissaka is it?

Sterling: Yes..about that..

Pep: I'm going to put you there anyway.

Failed yet again. Pep is clueless!
