He was better than the other 3 at the back, that's damning with feint praise.
You think? Thought he was lucky that Maguire and Bailly were so awful. out of position constantly sucked in again giving Son all the space in the world. There were at least 3 seperate occasions Son pulled off him in to acres of space and if Spurs had clipped a ball over it was a free hit for Son.

Then there is him diving in like a mad man when he should just stay on his feet. Watch the bit of play before Pogba gives a penalty. His usual jogging back when he should be sprinting and being partially at fault for that Harry Kane free kick by once again switching off.

People keep saying he is terrible going forward but honestly that’s the least of our worries with him when he has become shocking at defending.

They were all bad but he was right there in the thick of it. He might even have been worse than Bailly.

They were all shocking. AWB just jogs back all the time. Plays as if he’s stoned.
Most fullbacks jog back from a RM/RW position. At least he made 5 tackles today, the rest of the team didnt even try to make 5 tackles combining the lot of them.

He needs a better coach than Ole for him to excel going forward. Not one individual player has shown improvement under Solskjaer our fullbacks are no different. The moment we get a proper manager who can impose his will upon the team is the moment our individual players improve.

Who cares about how many tackles he made, we got beat 6-1 and his direct opponent Son scored twice.

He’s rotten.

I'm not sure what's happened to Bissaka. He's looked a Sunday league player since coming back from lockdown.

Yep. He looks totally shot of confidence. He actually looks like he doesn’t know where he should be on the pitch tactically and that boils down to coaching

Biggest issue I feel is fitness. We re nowhere near it. Ole mistake imo is that he tried to start as he ended last season ..attacking.
I think it would have been better if we started off defending deep and attacking on the counter until we regain fitness.

Doesnt mark anyone, gives us nothing going forward what has happened to him.

Why does every.player who comes to us start off ok then become a pale shadow of their former selves.??

Defensively he’s suffering from Greenwood playing in front of him. He’s getting no help on that side and Matic is more likely to be covering the other side. The problem is we need Greenwood playing which means we probably shouldn’t be playing Pogba. Which creates a problem in that for as shit as Pogba has been, we still need somebody in midfield who can pass the ball.

AWB is far from a bad player, he is only getting drossed with the rest of badly coached team.

Honestly, It's just more likely that he's another fraud bad at football that will keep getting a pass because he's british and fans struggle to accept that the team still needs way more after all. "Confidence", "Tactics", "Fitness", heard it all before. He's almost 23 and can barely control, pass or cross a ball and his positioning is laughable.

What changed? Defensively we went from having no attacks come down our right to having every attack come down that wing. He isn't even in position most times. Different instructions?

It looks like tactics to me. Yet another player bought that just doesnt suit our system. If Ole wanted an attacking full back then buy an attacking full back. It was a choice between Max Aarons and Wan B. Max Aarons was the right choice.....if we wanted an attacking RB. But no we get a young player that is brilliant defensively then start turning him into an attacking RB. He is all over the place. Way too far forward and out of position. On top of it Greenwood is not a RW and doesnt cover defensively. And on top of it we have Pogba who is not doing any work and Fernandes too far forward. So there is no one in midfield to push right and cover. He is being told to push up but there is no infrastructure around him for it to work and even though he probably will get better offensively if we just keep training him, we just dont have the luxury for us to wait for him to learn.
When we signed him we should have just said. Carry on doing what you were doing. Be a great defensive RB. And he would be brilliant.

Or whoever coach him the basic when he was in academy. Being aware to know where your man and communicate is basic in football especially in midfield and defense. Bissaka was a former winger when he was in academy after all.

Bissaka has been like this the whole last season that he always look lost in his positioning and doesn’t know where he needs to be or who he’s marking. He showed it from the Liverpool 1-1 game last season when he was so far distance with Robertson and let Robertson getting so much spaces to cross until they scored 1-1 and still constantly the same mistakes to the end of the season of Sevilla game.

It's very strange. His focus and one on one defending was one of the things you could genuinely rely on from this team, last year. But he's started this season like the opposite of that player. Something is amiss. Even at Palace they felt he had a machine like ethic and match readyness.

His eagerness to show off his tackling regardless of the circumstance is quite bizarre, the sequence leading up to the Spurs pen was just unnecessary.

Somebody in the coaching has messed up with his head and technique. This is not AWB of last season. This season he is all over the place. The right side supposedly the wall that no winger or FB shall pass. He is a shite FB but at least he was a world class RB.

He was never good. Have been saying this all year long. He simply got the new signing honeymoon treatment where the strengths get magnified to mythical levels and the weaknesses are overlooked. Then a few months later, the reverse happens.

He is a below average player in literally everything except tackling.

Regarding AWB,

Yes he isn’t stellar going forward but I also don’t think he’s completely worthless at it. Also, defensively he is the best FB in the world and we should play to his strengths instead of staring jealously at TAA or whomever.

Basically, start AWB against all the top teams with a dangerous LW/LF that we have to neutralize. Don’t try to involve him too much in the build-up play, just have him provide some basic width and be an outlet. But other than that, let him focus on what he does best.

Then against low-block teams, start Williams or Laird instead. And possibly look into signing someone like Tariq Lamptey.

Ole and his staff should play to the players’ strengths instead of trying to turn them into something they’re not. I think they’ll realize this eventually, however. Especially now that they do have more options in at least some areas.

Appears to be behind Walker, TAA, Trippier & James in the England pecking order. Given that there’s also Lamptey & Aarons it’s conceivable he could go uncapped his entire career given his limitations going forward.

He’s not good enough to get a game for England. Not surprised.

Not sure about this. Yes, his tackling is great but his defensive positioning and awareness is not great

Doubt he was ever going to get many starts. TAA is many leagues ahead of him.

True, but his defensive positioning and awareness don't need to be great for him to fulfill his function in the team. His function is closing down that left hand channel and that was an important part in the wins against a lot of the top 6 teams last season. Our other FB (Shaw/Telles) can play more attacking/offensively.

Trent wont be england rb. Will probably be moved to midfield soon. His defending is nonexistent.
Even so I think for Southgate he’s even behind the u21s options in Aarons and Lamptey. He just doesn’t rate AWB. After Walker and Trippier are gone it will be TAA and James as first choices.

That whole thing about Ole building the squad with the right type of characters is going well.

Jesus the hate that these players get.

How is him speeding a most likely sports car an indicator of their personality

I do 80 - 90 on a bloody family car on a motorway, a young kid on a sports car will go faster during their more premature years driving

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Bought in a player excelled in one-one-one defending and superb monster tackler.
:confused:Expecting him to be good in attacking and playing like Dani Alves.

The idea is wrong from the very start.

Bissaka is a limited player. Accept it. Then again, we know about this already even before we bought him. Playing him in more attacking roles and positioning are just counter-productive without a good coaching. AWB doesn't seem to learn from experiences of playing attacking, not all players can, majority can't, they still need guidance.

Solution?
1) Putting a genuine top class right winger excelled in attacking in front of him would balance our right wing unit. Greenwood play like a forward/striker, not as a winger, so we still are missing right width.
2) Hire a good attacking coach for FBs.
