No surprise. One of the players most obviously unsuited to ETH's brand of football.

Hopefully true. It was inevitable we'll have to upgrade over him. Was obvious even during his first season.

May the rest of Ole's awful legacy at United as a manager follow him out of the door

I think under the right manager he could have become a good to very good player. He's gone backwards in his time here, really. Not unlike many other signings we've made in the last decade. Good decision to try move him on, Dalot too hopefully.
No chance. He can't do the basics. He's still only 24, so it's not like he's past the point of no return. Reassuring that Ten Hag knows he'll never be up to snuff.

I am surprised at this to the point that I thought we would focus on the spine of the team first and then sign an upgrade on him in the future. We need to sign a rb now - if Dalot is starter next season i will weep.

think theres going to be a whack on that £50m outlay as well

Hmm, I was hoping ETH would be able to work with him and unlock something I feel he has.

But it is what it is, and I trust the manager fully. If he says he’s not the right standard then best thing to do is move him on. Might be a good player for Newcastle to take on as they look to progress up the table.

Also with him gone, I hope it means ETH has seen Laird and will give him a place in the first team.

I liked Wan Bissaka in his first season here and I feel he has something

But if he doesn't suit Ten Hags style, then fair fecks. He needs players who suit his style.

I dearly hope it isn't Dalot as first choice RB though. He's not very good. But at this rate we will need 11 new players.

ETH hopefully has free reign so nobody is safe, I won't be shocked by any of the outgoings this summer.

Let's just hope if this is true we don't palm him off for a bag of sweets and £50 like we usually do, still a very decent player in there for someone.

Probably the right move, but I really hope that doesn’t mean Dalot gets RB by default next season. Not convinced by him

Give over. A manager can't teach him how to play football. He's crap and always has been. Arguably the worst signing we've ever made considering the cost

Genuinely shocked at the number of people that felt like AWB had 'something' and wanted him to stay. He's been here for three years - how much more do you need to see?! He is utterly hopeless on the ball which is essential for any team that has designs for playing fast, progressive football. I'm sure he'll be able to carve out a successful career with a more defensive, reactive team. Never, ever going to work out here, though.

With the wages he's on? good luck finding a suitor. A blind man could see how fecking uncomfortable this fraud looked on the ball at palace and yet everyone on here clamoured for his signing. £50m well spent.

Better than Dalot.

Id have liked to see him get a chance and see if he could develop over the next season but maybe that would just reduce the chances of him leaving and us getting some money.

Not surprising I said at time he wasnt the right fit, we should also be looking at a new LB too.

Selling him and Henderson should pretty much cover De Jong’s money.

Dalot can trap a football without breaking stride. That's as far as thar comparison needs to go. I'm not remotely surprised he's the first casualty.

It's a relief that we won't have to watch this clown fumbling about with the ball anymore. It's incredible that the club sanctioned spending £50 million on this guy as his deficiencies were so obvious.

It's about fecking time.

Never mind defensive positioning. Basic passing, dribbling and first touch. It's like he never bothered learning any of these things and got where he is based solely on athleticism and slide tackles.

Shame really, he's a very good defensive full back but I guess it was naive to think he could just develop the attacking side of his game out of nowhere.

I feel like he could be a decent RCB in a back 3 but perhaps that is a bit of a stretch too.

Cannot defend .. cannot cross.. cannot play forward .. but yes he can trap the ball..so let's keep him..
I would sell both and also telles ..and even Shaw

Good riddance. AWB out Jurrien Timber in. I think Shaw faces his last chance to impress another manager.

The most stupid signing we have ever done. It was obvious at the time that this would happen. Cant believe that neither scouts or manager saw it.

This is absolutely the right move and hopefully it’s one that sends some shock waves through our entitled squad.
AWB is a player that I can never say didn’t give his best and he has some good defensive attributes and one extraordinary one (slide tackle) but he’s not a good footballer - like he is Valencia level of one footedness and even that foot is not remotely top level when it comes to control, passing etc. he also can’t pick up his man on the back post from crosses, which is a major sin for a full back.
Wish him the best and he’ll have a decent career four he’s not the quality we need

I don’t see many clubs queuing up for his signature. Wherever he goes the club will be taking a serious hit on him. Fecking Woodward and Judge! The chuckle brothers still doing damage to the club even after they’ve left the building.

This should be done. Better for both parties. A catastrophic failure of a signing, truly worthy of sacking the ones responsible.

It begs the question how many more chances does he need? He’ll be 27 this year he should be at his peak. We need to get of him too if we’re being honest.

Doesn't matter. Money is finite in the real world so we were never going to sell everyone at once. The worst fitting players are however a good place to start. People will take it out on Dalot like this development wasn't coming from a mile away. He was always getting discard swiftly. Doesn't even matter who else is at the position as long as they have technical basics.

Nah, they already have Tripper who is a far superior RB.

A truly terrible signing that most people anticipated before we even made it.

Over to the player and his agent now, if its clear he isn't getting game time, then I hope he still has the ambition to play every week and finds himself a club willing to pay a reasonable fee.

But we all know CP will offer to loan him and pay 25% of his wages for a season or something daft like that.
