Probably our pre season preparation also coming to bite us. My theory, which is based on nothing, is that our pre season fitness plan was underwhelming and at a low intensity and as such as soon as the proper high intensity games started our players begin dropping like flies.
Im pretty sure a club of the size of Manchester United will have some specialist who are able to set up a proper pre season preparation. It is very likely just a combination of injury prone players getting injured (Varane), players who arent extremely injury prone but pick up and injury every so often picking up an injury now (Shaw and Amad) and just bad luck.

If we get pre-World Cup Dalot, no we are not, I mean he is standard Portugal first team player after all.
You'd think that we'd be looking to upgrade one of him or AWB next summer, so a two month stint as nailed on first choice RB is a big opportunity for him really. If he doesn't take it..... *shrugs*

Bloody hell, when it rains it really does pour.

At least Dalot looked good on Saturday and was surprisingly solid at LB against Arsenal. Hopefully he can show his pre-World Cup form over the next few months. Reguilon was also a bright spot on the weekend and his willingess to constantly overlap should grant Rashford more space on the left to cut in.

An upgrade at right-back is needed next summer regardless. I'd prefer to keep AwB over Dalot but I think Ten Hag prefers the latter.

Now, it gives Erik a good reason on why we suck. AWB, Mainoo, Mount, Varane, Shaw, Malacia and Amad.

This is unreal. Like many had said, this can’t be down to bad luck. We were massively overplayed last season and when it start to kick in it all falls apart. But why the feck did AWB get like 10 min in a lost game when he is ill. It’s beyond stupid when you know the outcome.

It seems not though, there is disquiet at the club about the preseason.

Incredible. Can't remember last time we had this many injured players 5 games into the new season. Something is not right.

I would be surprised if this club has anyone in the entire organisation who has earned the right to be called a specialist.

Look Chelsea or Real Madrid also and coming down to smaller clubs. These things happen more and more now, too much games and not enough rest.

Most of the injured players have had loads of rest. AWB just had another two weeks off after a full summer break. Along with time off every international break.

Amad, Mainoo, Malacia and Varane, can't put them down to too much football. They don't play enough if anything.

Amrabat had entire summer and pre season resting. Hojlund hasn't played too much.

There is no way this is luck. Something is seriously wrong here.
We have 11 players out. To be fair, 2 of them are disciplinary. But also 2 of the new signings had red flags in their medicals, something that was in our control.

Chickens coming home to the roost for the lack of rotation in our gruelling European run last season. Bok bok.

(not seriously though)

Of course there’s an article on sky sports highlighting all of Chelsea injuries but nothing ever gets said when we have an injury crisis.

Even if it's not directly related and that he's a young elite-level athlete who doesn't play at the International level, it doesn't help, that's for sure.

It's not a cause but it increases the risk and this is where professionalism comes in.

Either way, time for Dalot to do to AwB what he 'did' to him at the start of this year and take back control of that RB spot.

Why is the news all bad all the time?
It’s going to be a bleak season. We all need to strap in and look forward to new ownership which I feel isn’t far away now.

I never wish injuries on players, especially our own. But I do feel that a really poor run of results for weeks on end will see the Glazers finally sell.

Last season’s success has not helped us at all. We really needed to finish 6th with no trophies for the long term health of the club.
