UEFA changed the qualification rules to allow them to play in the CL despite them finishing outside of the qualification places when they fluked that CL win in 05. Hypocrites as always.
The persistent, incessant bile that comes our way, incredibly, over the past few decades, just passes some people by. The highlight being when we last won’t leave cup and Gray and his sidekick deliberately went out of their way to ignore our achievement, not even referring to the fact we’d just won the trophy and were waiting to go up to collect it. Instead, they rambled on about the stadium and what it used to be like in contrast to the present. Utterly childish behaviour and undermines the company they work for. Ridiculous to pass this off as “paranoia “. It is the reason we get such consistently bad calls from referees. The above was just one of the most blatant example I have seen but it is almost institutionalised at this stage and if anything, it is getting worse. Even referees have called it out as justification for calls that have clearly disadvantaged United.
United win it'll be a travesty and a scar on European football. Spurs win and it will be a deserved redemption for a team "who dared".

Basically nobody questions how teams which finish 2nd, 3rd and 4th in their leagues go and play in CHAMPIONS league (this year's CL had more non-champions than champions) but winner of EL is a problem?

Interestingly, no one batted an eye lid when 12th place Sevilla won the EL and got CL... it was all fair game then... When untied or Spurs do it... its not fair.
Just shows the saltiness in many in the media and journos.

same as but switch FA and Europa. FA should be the 5th place in CL instead of 5th in the league. If it isnt about champions anymore it should at least allow for cup winners to be sort of champions. 1-4 is ok for placement

It's weird but I put the Prem 1st. Probably because of our awful decade and I started as a supporter in the early 90's. Not easy for me to pick over Champions League, but I just cannot wait to see that trophy lifted again. (and get ahead of Liverpool somehow)

If you see the BBC match tracker reactions to us going through and Spurs going through it says it all. On Spurs going through they sound ecstatic with caps and exclamation marks, for us it´s a deadpan ´Manchester United are in the Europa League final.
And this after United have dominated a tie against many people´s favourites, scoring 7 goals. Spurs have just beaten a side who let´s face it, most of us haven´t heard of before.

The FA Cup is the better competition to win, however with the CL place for the winners the EL is more important (if outside of the top 4-5).
For a club that’s qualifying for the CL through the league - I bet fans/ clubs/ players would take the FA Cup every day of the week.
Id take 5 CL in a row to put us on 8 tbh then work out the league again. Winning a CL is ridiculously complex for anyone not named Real Madrid.

I've heard her on podcasts. She's probably the most biased journalist around. I listened to the times podcast once after United won and she just refused to concede that United could have played well. When the host kept going, she said "Well ok, maybe they're as good as the United of old then".
I also hears him just refusing to admit the penalty against Barcelona was a penalty. When someone said there was contact, he just said he didn't care. He's a hack for FIFA who hasnt understood football for a decade and only surfaces to broadcast another stupid gimmick to make football slightly worse.

Im sure if Coventry had've gone on to win the FA Cup last season and then reached the Europa final this year despite being in the 2nd tier he wouldnt be complaining about the possibility of them playing in the Champions League next season
Keys can genuinely feck off. Why the feck shouldn’t it be allowed? Getting rid of this rule would only put the Europa League back to the way it used to be. It all became about money and more and more clubs wanting a slice of the pie. It really should be champions only in CL, Then 2-6 in EL, the cup winner should then be in Cup Winner Cup, they should never have got rid of that. All it is about is greed, greed and more greed. That is about both the clubs and the players. This tosh about a player wanting to play in CL because he will come up against the best, bollocks it is you will earn a bigger paypacket.
