Adam Sandler in Uncut gems was actually awesome.
And also The Meyerowicz stories with Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller (who also puts in an excellent dramatic performance). Sandler is a better actor than many give credit, probably including himself, which is why he does some god awful stuff these days

Yeah he's absolutely incredible in that. Hard to beat.
Would be great to hear some recommendations similar to that. Absolutely love watching such biopics or even fictional stories of people with troubled lives, especially mental health issues and how they cope with it. Love The Theory of Everything as well.

The Shield. It’s one of only a handful of shows I’ve watched twice, (and watched some seasons and episodes many more times) and it will be watched a 3rd time at some point. Just brilliant.

not seen either actor get close to their performances in The Shield in anything else.

This movie is devastating to watch but it is a masterpiece as it does a remarkable job of making the viewer understand the unspeakable atrocities committed.

This scene absolutely harrowing but it is fantastically done. Fiennes as Amon Göth lookes genuinely possessed.
