I'm so shocked by this that I'm not even able to post a "shocked cat" meme/gif/pic/whatever in response. That's how fundamentally shocked I am.

No Salzburg is the one with the good youth, Leipzig was just plundering Salzburg.
Upamecano from Salzburg
Hannes Wolf from Salzburg
Konrad Laimer from Salzburg
Haidara from Salzburg

But Leipzig are working with many young players, they buy talents and trust their talents.
Hardly plundering, the same guy owns both clubs. It's similar to the Watford, Udinese and Granada tie-up.

Youth talent is dependent on the manager's good will to play them and the circumstances surrounding the club at that time. For Sir Alex gave ample opportunity to kids especially during his early reign. However if a kid happened to be a midfielder whose coming through when Keane, Beckham, Scholes, Butt and Giggs were in their prime then that kid was basically doomed. There's no way that an inexperienced kid could break in that midfield.

Young players are better lead and they are more shrewd then previous players. They know that what matters in that delicate stage of their career is to play as much football as possible + they are not afraid to leave the country if that means getting more games. The German league is a great league to play in as most clubs are selling clubs (ie a huge turnover), its a far easier league then the EPL while still retaining the title of a respectable league as opposed to lets say the SPL. It's not difficult to get ridiculous stats there as the likes of Dembele, Mkhitaryan and Kagawa can easily testify.

No, Salzburg is no longer owned by Red Bull. They hat to split, because otherwise RBL and RBS would not be allowed to play in the same UEFA competition. They still have strong ties, but not as strong as they have been. For example RBL are not allowed to bring in more then one player from Salzburg every window and they have to pay a "normal" price, no free transfers or something like that. Also they split the organisation, Ralf as Head of Red Bull global Soccer has no formal influence on Salzburgs decisions.

Don't Red Bull use FC Liefering to get around that?

You'll always remember where you were when you found out Adam Hlozek signed for Leipzig.
