Really promising signs of greater maturity in his game over the last 6 weeks, when delivering the ball he is picking out areas consistently now. Is always a handful with his movement and willingness to make things happen but with more composure in his play his final product will improve.

With an extra yard of pace and strength he would be very difficult to contain.
Yep, he’s really improving and becoming one of viable assist makers in the team. His cutbacks with his weak foot are really really good and he’s taken on the coaching of Amorim really well.

What a strike for his goal too. He always has that in him.

Would not want him sold. Surely not on account of the manager's system. Who knows if the manager is here next season and garnacho has had a very productive season in a new system and poor team. He's a must keep player

Wouldn't mind if he is sold. He has the desire and the talent. He deserves to play for a proper club that will develop him and let him challenge for honours.

He is inproving his output and showing that he is growing and maturing. I still dont want him to be sold

Sounds like you’d rather follow him out and support this ‘proper club’ with him…?

Yeah, he only has two trophies in the previous two seasons, with a chance to add a third in this one. Tragic if he never gets the chance to challenge for honours.

According to transfermarkt that’s his first assist in the league since the opening day of the season.

Still, he’s up to 11 goals and 10 assists this season. An improvement statistically on last season (10 goals and 7 assists) though it’s worth mentioning he got 3 goals and 3 assists in two league cup games.

Played 3,574 minutes last season apparently with a goal or assist every 210 minutes.

This season he’s on 3,437 minutes so far with a goal or assist just under every 164 minutes.

Hopefully a few more to come in the next few weeks

He is quality.. inconsistent end product, but he is very young. I hope Amorim finds a spot for him in the formation.

I feel it’s fairly obvious he’s going if we’re backing Amorim. He just doesn’t fit the system. He’s a winger, not a 10.
I felt that a month ago, but he seems to be picking up the ball in No10 pockets a little more and having a little better output, so now I’m not sure either way.

Always a threat but obviously lacks in decision making. Felt he was much better at that today and could have more than one assist. His goal was special and well deserved.

I change my mind on whether I'd be willing to sell after every game.

I do think he's going to be a productive attacker when he hits his prime, you can see the goalscoring potential with the amount of chances he's getting, just needs that one season where suddenly his finishing looks better. He's also creating a bit from cut backs.

He'll probably never be a great technical or intelligent player though. But it would be very disheartening to sell a homegrown talent at 20 who has potential to be a very productive player.
With all the chances he either creates or gets into, I would argue that he has pretty good attacking intelligence. Sure, he makes the wrong call from time to time, but he wouldn't create so much if he lacked intelligence. He needs to slow down a little at times though.

Amorim clearly values ball carriers, and Garnacho is one of the few in the squad who consistently drives forward with the ball. Reports suggest we’re looking to replace him with Cunha - another strong carrier - but in my view, we shouldn’t be swapping one for the other. We need as many of those profiles as possible to fit Amorim’s system.

Sad to see him sold but if fit Amad and Cunha start over him. Maybe in his interests to leave and get more games and continue to develop. He is good enough to start elsewhere, has a lot of potential, made some brilliant assists and still only 20 but obviously can be very wasteful and frustrating. I hope we can convince him to stay and help in rotation as need to need to keep players fit and fresh.

I'm probably comparing him to Amad in that sense, although Amad is older to be fair.

A fully developed Amad you feel will become a player you know will make the right decision. Garnacho has the aura of a player who will always make you tear your hair out.

I hope Amorim realises that he needs to be flexible with his system to make the most of the talented players we have.

Amad is much calmer and more composed on the ball, but it's hard to say which is more intelligent - although I would say that using the eye test, Amad looks are very intelligent player.

For all the talk of the system he is becoming effective in this system. Just his end product and decision making needs to improve

Garnacho is our best player in my opinion . Brave , always looking forward not backwards , most dangerous player . BTW 11 goals and 10 assists for 20 years old . Is any other 20 years old with 11 goals and 10 assists

Yes I do wonder if the system issue is being overstated.

Playing 433 won't fix his finishing.

If he could finish people would be saying he's having a good season and he may be on course for a 20 goal season.

If he can tidy up his finishing (which you would expect as he is only 20) he'll be a 30G/A a season player.

Add the ability to shield the ball effectively and he could be something else.

Oh Bruno is still our best player IMO, and our most dangerous. But Garnacho is starting to turn positive play into actual threat again which is very good to see. I was done with him in January, so I'm glad he's proving me wrong.

11G/10A now. Respectable numbers
He’ll always put up good numbers and I expect them to increase each year over the next couple and then plateau out at an above average level. He’s still growing and learning as a player and I doubt there are many his age putting in similar numbers for a 15th placed club.

Does he need to improve of course but he’s doing what he should be still in terms of being a threat and improving his g/a contributions.
This is exactly what I see happening. Similarly for Mainoo if we're insane enough to entertain that
IF we had to sell one or the other I’d sell Mainoo first.

He had some good moments today, but the glaring holes in his game were still on display; didn't complete a single dribble, only won 2 duels all match for a 29% success rate, defensively less involved than usual, and passing at 79% completion was OK.

The completed dribble thing must be a bit of a nonsense stat. He carried the ball forward effectively plenty of times today. He almost always does.

21 goal involvements this season now. Think the ones wanting him sold are deluded frankly. The lad's still only 20, but people on here treat him like he's 28 and in his prime.

I guess it means he didn't beat his fullback, which is also what I came away from the game thinking. He's not as good at that as he seems to think.

But that's not the same as dribbling.

Yeah just carrying the ball isn't dribbling, we know he's capable of running with the ball from A to B, it's when there are opposition players in the way that he really struggles.

His dribbling success rate is terrible, he's ~17th percentile for it in the PL, to his credit he's been trying to dribble a bit less than usual recently, so either he's learned or more likely the coaching team are telling him to.

His ceiling would be an awful lot higher if he had the bolded, unfortunately he's usually physically outmatched, which is partly why he's got such a poor dribbling/take-on record.

Another Goal and an Assist!

Shame 3 CB's and 2 CM's couldn't keep a clean sheet to save their lives.

The left foot cross was great. More of that please Garnacho. If he can sort out the decision making he'll be a very good player.
Would be silly to sell him for the sake of a system, unless someone offers crazy money.
