He gets the ball from Bruno all the time. He has so many fantastic passes to run on. And he squanders 9 out of 10.

He seems like a young man who very clear instructions, but either he doesn’t get that or he doesn’t follow them. If the first is the case it’s on ETH who should never let him roam freely and shoot at every opportunity. If it’s the latter there must be consequences and that’s on ETH too.

This is his ceiling unless we find the absolute perfect manager for him who can make him more disciplined. Too reckless and naive. Needs the right manager to help him make the move up, or I don't think he'll ever make that step.

He should practice crossing the ball with his left foot. Although this is true of nearly all "inverted" wingers.

Had a good moan at Rasmus too when he took a shot rather than pass him the ball as well. Like bloody hell, haven't you been getting it enough?

It's not that he made a mistake which led to us conceding a goal so much, although it was an infuriatingly amateurish error. It's more about the fact that he received the ball under pressure and with no space to run into, and his immediate reaction was to travel ten yards backward with it. These "little things" can make a world of difference when you're assembling a first team, and you have to choose which individuals are better bets than others. But, don't forget to put him on 300 grand p/w when he gets 10 PL goals in a season, in case somebody snatches him off our hands.

He’s been pretty poor this season but he’s our top goal scorer in the EPL with 2 goals and 1 assist in 9 games.

This is just how bad this season been for goals, we’ve scored 8 goals in 9 Games and our eight attacking options if I include Mount and Bruno have scored 6 between them and Garnaucho got 33% of those, it’s obvious what United’s problem is?

They don’t take their chances, don’t score more goals throughout the team. If we were grading their ability to score from the following categories;

1. Corner and Set Piece - 4/10
2. Direct Free Kicks - 2/10
3. Breaking Down teams low block- 1/10
4. Fast Transition Counter Attacks - 5/10
5. Overloading the Penalty Area - 2/10
6. Third Man Run and Cut back penalty 2/10
7. Penalty Kicks - 3/10

We can’t get penalties as the wrong people are not on the pitch against tired legs, we don’t score direct free kicks because Eriksen and Rashford are not taking the majority of free kicks. We need a coach and at least a new right winger and an experienced CF just to address the woeful quality we currently have within the squad.

A Man United team scoring 8 PL goals in 9 games is reason alone to sack this idiot?
It's hard to score when the tactics are sideways and backwards with slow pace. By the time we get close to the box the entire opponents team is sitting in it. How many times have you seen some quick transition forward that exposes opponents out of position and at the least get a man on man in the box? Really has been 14 yrs since that has been done consecutively. Instead, sideways, back, sideways, back, back, sideways, long ball, possession loss.

Outside of his finishing, at least he's getting himself into these chances, I thought it was one of his better games.

You make a valid point but both Ole and Mourinho played much better direct counter attacking football that yielded near 2 PL goals per game in the seasons they came second, the main reason was Lukaku(for all his derision), Pogba, Cavani, Zlatan, Greenwood and Rashford (not feeling like everything relies on him!) were all vastly superior finishers with vastly more experience.

Garnaucho will be a great player but right now, his decision making is poor and he’s offside far too many times, it doesn’t help the poor lad that the team is do bereft of goal scoring ideas, he’s trying to be the leader of a front three at 20 years old?
He also gave the ball away against West Ham that resulted in West Ham’s first goal, he does this quite a lot in the same way Bruno does?

It’s time the club wake up, put RVN in charge for an interim period, then seriously upgrade our attacking options in January.

We have very little money but at least £50-60m plus what we sell has been made available from SJR second instalment if $100m in December 2024.

We need to make Brian Mbeumo our priority signing and sell Antony even if it’s at a loss of £70m then we need to try and look for an experienced 30-34 year old PL Striker like Danny Wellbeck who would have similar effect on our young strikers as Johny Evan’s has on our defence.
Yes we would want Gyrokes, Osimhen and others but they are unproven in PL, cost far too much and the club also needs a left back for £15-25m in January like Antonee Robinson or A Fernandes.

Those three players plus maybe a loan for Leon Goretzka could be transformative, huge experience and ready to play for the starting 11 immediately, they would instantly elevate the squad back to a top 6 team and right now that’s the first stage of the rebuild is back to TOP 6.

If anyone is to blame for the selfishness in Garnacho's game it's ten Hag, the only reason he displaced Antony was because he made himself undroppable.

It's clear that ten Hag would rather be sacked than drop Rashford, so there's one position to fight for every week.

If you want to see where being a team player and looking for teamates in better positions gets you, look at poor Amad's situation.

Getting rid of ten Hag will be massive for these two and Mainoo.

Theo Walcott with Ronaldo’s green light.

One thing we don’t seem to realise at this club is not every player that breaks through our youth team is destined to be great.

Someone breaks into the first team and before doing anything they are meant to be the next Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo. People skip a whole tier of players like Fletcher, Butt, O’Shea for comparisons when reaching that level in itself is extremely difficult and rare.

United young players have the best PR in the world. I think it’s pretty clear he’s not that big of a talent but just by being a United player he gets a level of hype his ability doesn’t deserve.

You look at all the hype Rashford had and now Garnacho at United, then compare it to how they’re treated when they play for their national teams. They are viewed as nothing special there and it’s no surprise why.

I watch the old games to remember what we were, how we played and why I have been a fan for so long. Tactically, what SAF did was miles from today. When I watch the current squad play vs back in the day, you see what plays should be made and in a lot of cases players are doing the opposite, which is based on training.
Bringing in names has partially been the downfall. SAF as heck any manager should do, would hunt players that played the way he wanted, had a hunger to succeed and enough skill to develop into the players he needed. Sure he went after high profile players, no doubt, but he did perform a due diligence on scouting to make sure the player fit the team and had the attitude to bring success. As a manager or coach, you have to be careful on incoming players that they do not upset the character of the team. SAF would have never brought back Pogba. The reasons why were quite evident, yet Woodward had no problem. He was a distraction to the team and Mourinho became the fall guy for Woodwards ignorance of not just the game, sport in general and how to build a team, this is just 1 example of several.
Garnacho, here is the thing about him, he has a drive, he wants to win, you can see it. In fact I would say he is one of the sole bright spots on the team. Sure he makes mistakes, however I was always easier on a player who gives 100% effort. He has skill but needs to be honed in on certain aspects and his execution. At least I feel you can work with this kid, there are others, namely Bruno, who I do not see improve week over week or have that drive, which gives to questioning the training and tactics.
Putting a 30+ midfield out is limiting especially with pace, hence the lack of quick transition. I like most of the players but that was 5-7 yrs ago, it is like where the elephants go to die, not good. I would have loved Casemiro and Eriksen 5 yrs ago, today they are more aligned to MLS. Having to play Mazraoui out of position is a sign of mismanagement again not good. Multiple injuries is either training or medical staff, not good. Not scoring, a huge negative. People say about getting chances and blah, blah, but you win games by scoring goals, you don't score you don't win, chances count for 0.
If you use a methodical approach, it clearly shows that ETH is not the right manager. Time to move on, RVH is taking over and I do message with an old first team coach who is offering his assistance. This era has ended!

Oh wow, a 20 years with a goal contribution every two games since he starting playing with is now overrated.
20 goals and 12 assists in 60 games for such a young player in a dysfunctional team is not to be underestimated.
He’s young and inconsistent, which is normal.

I have no particular view about his ceiling but dismissing his talent on the basis of « he’s overrated because of PR » is disingenuous. Same as Rashford who has been shite for more than a year now but has consistently been among the most productive left wingers in Europe

You have to remember that someone like Ronaldo at a similar age was equally raw. I remember Cristiano would often get into good positions but the final pass or shot would let him down.

I'm not saying we can expect Garnacho to make the same astronomical improvements but it's not uncommon for a young attacking player to be inconsistent and then find that consistency at 21-25 years old.

Garnacho should be on the bench and he is not ready yet for the regular starter role. The mistake was made already years ago as 82million pound Brazilian is either charged by violent behaviour towards women, sitting on a bench or injured.

This 82million pound investment, other than current Brazilian though, should be the regular starter and Garnacho would have adequate time to progress and be that super sub on the bench until he is mentally and physically ready to maintain steady form and clinical finishing which he is lacking at the moment.

Did he win the Puskas award?

Problem is our wingers are about as good as a nun's tits atm. Garnacho in an ideal world would have his game time more managed, but alas his competition isn't exactly lighting it up for us. Rashford has been on holiday for almost two years (and frankly needs to be sold), Antony is Antony, and Diallo while promising has been mostly pants this season (and prefers playing on the other flank anyway). Garnacho is starting because he's been the best out of a sorry bunch.

This is correct re Garnacno. I remember being a match going red when this young upstart Ryan Giggs was coming onto the scene. Constantly offisde, greedy, you could have two at the back post and hed cross to the front and vice versa. Garnacho IS Inexperienced, he needs some good leadership on the pitch and a selfish fwd infront of him. He is the least of our worries i think

He was 19 just five minutes ago. Reading that he's "reached his ceiling" is ridiculous. Embarrassing to try and throw this lad under the bus.

Relatively wasteful today. That said, still delivered goal and assist, so it’s a good performance definitely.

Still a youngster and if he can develop composure and decision making he can become an even more amazing player.

10 G/A so far this season (6+4), top of the team with a margin of 3 (ahead of Rashford, Eriksen and Bruno all on 7 G/A)

Yup! the kid gets a lot of criticism but he works his socks off and puts up numbers that compare with a lot of players far more experienced than him.

He is brilliant to watch, just makes stuff happen.

Let's not go overboard shall we? 6 of those are in the Carabao Cup against L1 and Championship standard teams which a lot of posters mentioned they don't give a single feck about that competition and 1 of them in the Community Shield which again, is nothing more than a glorified friendly.

So its really 3 goals contributions in 12 appearances which is nothing to write home about.

Well yes when you remove half the goals he scored, sure

Well yes, people also fail to give any credit to the manager who won us the trophy as apparently no big team cares about the competition so not sure why we have to give any credit to the players for stat padding in this "meaningless" competition?
This place is desperate to shit on its top talents.
Not shitting. I’m simply applying the same logic to the players that many applied to the manager.

For the record, I don't hate Garnacho just that there's lot that he can improve on before we put him on a pedestal. His misses have costed us in at least couple of PL games(against Palace and West Ham) and the ways he moaned at Hojlund for not passing to him when he himself does that about dozen times a game annoyed me a bit. I hope that all this hype doesn't make him arrogant.

Plays like he's made it when he hasn't. Unbelievably selfish.

Needs to be benched until he learns how to pass.

This guy...

He's infuriating.

Needs 10-15 chances to get one right. Horrible decision making, at times it seems like he kills the momentum whenever we're playing well.

It's ironic he has recently been moaning when not been passed to near the goal when he seems to do that every game. Surely someone from management must be seeing that and having a word.
