Alex Scott

This guy is great and I love watching him play. I do have questions about where exactly he fits in if we do pick up Ederson and possibly Fernandes. He's the type of player that should be playing every week and that's how he'll improve. I don't want us to do what Chelsea do and hover up talent and let them collect money on the bench.
We barely have a functional squad to cover a full season and campaigns on four fronts; you don’t need to worry about an over abundance of options when we don’t even have enough to play 50-60 games.

Maybe could pick him up in future
He'd be much smarter ignoring their contract offer, unless it includes a very reasonable buy out clause. Lad's a phenomenal player, I'd personally take him over anyone bar Anderson and Tchouameni from our rumored summer targets.

Would you put him ahead of Wharton?

I could see him re-signing and putting a £75M release clause. He really should stay 1 more year in Bournemouth especially with Europe on the horizon for them.

Would definitely pay that for him next summer

Likely Liverpool bound if they hire Iraola
Totally agree if fans don’t think he’s already in contact with Scott, Junior kroupi and a few others, he knows Kerkez already but he’s very clear what he wants, and I predict players like Wirtz, Isaak and a few others that coast in games simply won’t play, Iraola with that squad is bad news for a lot of teams in the EPL.

The only good news is that it will take him 3 or 4 months to imprint his will and style on Liverpool, remember he lost a lot of games at the start of his Bournemouth stint!

He would make sense for them as a swap in the team for MacAllister, who has had a horrible season even by Liverpool standards.

How is this just arbitrarily decided? Scott strikes me as too similar to Slob
Negativity doesn’t use actual logic.
United haven't been the only ones linked to him

Adding prior links before Slots sacking + hiring his manager isn't negativity for negativity sake.

I'm still very much bullish that we get 3 quality signings in for the midfield this summer. Not the end of the world if he isn't one of them

Seems to be the new target above Baleba.

I think if we don’t get Anderson or Tchouamen.. we will push for this deal. Although be interesting to see if Iraola takes him with him or if they stick to Wharton - which doesn’t feel like an Iraola player.

Not exactly the same player, but I feel he could quickly rise to the level Anderson has shown this season. So perhaps if were ultimately priced out on Anderson, might as well pick up Scott and hope he can keep improving. Eventually in a the post-Bruno era a future midfield three of Mainoo/Fernandes/Scott could also have amazing potential.

We can only hope.

He’s a good player, and about the time to bring in the profile of player.

I'd love for us to sign him.

For me, if we had a choice between Scott and Tonali, I'd go for Scott.

But in the same way my gut tells me we will sign Matheus Fernandes, I feel we won't end up signing Scott. Hope I'm wrong.

Scott and Fernandes I would be very happy with (whilst still being realistic). I wouldn’t entertain going for Tonali. Good player, but not worth the cost they will be after, compared to other players available.

Him, Fernandes and Ederson would be a pretty decent midfield rebuild and in keeping with the signing of players circa £60m rather than the £100m mark.

Fernandes, Scott, Mainoo + Ederson would be a good trio + backup, all of a sudden you would have too little gametime for all of them, but we really need to step our game in midfield, and snatching all of three would be awesome. Probably Hackney will be cheaper than Scott though and more creative than the rest in Bruno's absence but Scott is an interesting prospect which will cost like Anderson near the end of the next season. I'd bet he's 60m player anyway now.

Fernandes, Ederson and one of Scott or Wharton. Would be more than happy with that for Midfield Summer.

We have to raid Bournemouth for at least one player this summer. Would be wrong not to. If not Scott, then Truffert would find a nice home at LB. Better get in quick before Liverpool get Iraola and he takes all the good players north with him.

Same here. People have said theyre too similar but both Scott and Fernandes have a good all round skillset and I think we should pursue both instead of Tonali/Baleba

Scott screams Liverpool player to me. And not just because Iraola will want him and will need him in their midfield to make his system work.

That said, I'd like United to sign him. Real positive energy and confidence about the way he plays and room to improve. Think he'd mesh well with Mainoo too.

Athletic saying he's unlikely to sign a new contract at Bournemouth so likely he will leave this summer.

Obviously would have preferred one of Tchouameni or Anderson, but if we can't get either, then Scott, Fernandes and Ederson would still be a decent window for the midfield.

The worry would be that if we try and hold out until after the WC for Anderson and Tchouameni, we might miss out on Scott in the meantime.

I think we are quite certain to go for Ederson and Fernandes, so now the club would need to make a decision on whether to try and wrap up Scott as well or risk losing him in trying for Anderson and Tchouameni.

No #6 among them.
