Gonna be nice having a fullback who can actually contribute to some goals and assists.

Please don't lose your ability to cross pleasepleaseplease

Please don't hit the first man

Please don't hit the corner flag

Just somewhere in the penalty area will do

Shaw will be pleased we made a signing. He might even get to enjoy watching him from the bench!

We brought down Bruno to the team average, Sure we can do that to Telles

The best part of the signing is the low fee. The english media loves to mention the fee all the time the player isn't playing like prime Pele

Right, I expect a hat trick of assists and then I expect you to turn to shit after a month. Let’s get it.

Obvious bollocks. Not even the real Utd Report account. Takes half a second to notice.
You telling me "@UtdMental" weren't given an exclusive interview with our new signing?

This is probably the one signing which has the most excitement. He looks a great player going forward. However, without dampening the excitement I do have concerns about how he’ll do defensively as it’s not his strength. Considering he’ll be playing on Maguire’s side and with us looking all over the place at the back, will need to see how they’ll work together!

Would be a good signing if our defence wasn't a steaming pile of shit.

He's not known at all for his defensive capabilities - so sadly for him, I think he's going to end up a liability. Sure, we gain some severely needed attacking prowess from our full back, but at what cost? If we'd have shored up our defence with a quality pacey CB, this signing would've excited me a lot more. As of now, with Ole's insistence on sticking to 4231, I think he's going to struggle, tbh.

We surely have to change the way we play. Rashford can now afford to tuck in more with Telles maintaining width on the left. We may now have to turn to a double pivot of probably Matic and Fred or Fred and McT to give defensive cover for his marauding runs.
This may have worked out well had we actually signed a solid out and out RW. Then AWB could just stay back and provide defensive cover. It would have been an asymmetric system with one marauding LB and a conservative RB.
Changing to a double pivot also means that Pogba will have to sit out - anyway he has been poor so far so he doesn't deserve to start over Bruno in the AM role.

Mate, we've almost exclusively played 4231 since Ole came in, regardless of the opposition. Whilst I wish it would, I highly doubt anything will change there irrespective of personnel.

Think people will be surprised at just how big of a difference he'll make. It'll be like a Pereira to Bruno type of change. His delivery from the left, and play style in general will help Rashford massively, but also Martial and Greenwood in terms of a left back who knows how to pick people out in the box, not just randomly hitting it into the defender because he doesn't know how to wrap his foot around a ball. They're just youtube videos but Shaw isnt even capable of passing, crossing or striking a ball like Telles. Theyre worlds apart from a technical perspective.

He's a very reliable left back. A big loss for Porto, because Telles is almost like having a playmaker on the left: great vision, accurate passing and crossing and his set pieces are very good.

I have been a supporter of Shaw, but after that performance against Spurs I am excited to have another option available. Don't know a lot about him, but he has the right age and lots of experience - positive signing.

Not the fastest player, but he is very decent defending: works hard and is very determined. He is not world class talent, but good enough for a top team.

I'm relieved we now have experienced specialist cover for that position. Shaw is so injury-prone now, I don't think he'll ever again be the exciting player he was before his leg break.
