A player not hard to like, not sure about his quality but again like so many of the fringe players, never really had a run of games for him to settle into the position, rare starts or cameo's often when when were already winning the game. Did have a eye for a goal too. Good luck Alex, and at least you can say 'you where there'.....

We ended up with profit from him  Woody is really a God.

One of the most bizarre signings we have done in recent years. Right there with the likes of Bebe, Obertan, Djemba Djemba and Tosic.

The typical LB. Can go forward and score, just can't defend. Don't be surprised to see him go on to become a very good player.

Shaw is easily worthy of letting Buttner go, though.
You'll never hear from him again. Dude is 25 already

I don't see how signing him was strange, at all. We needed a cheap back up left back, whilst we waited to see how Fabio did with his season at QPR. Fabio failed to do anything to suggest he could make it as our first choice left back, so we've bought one and have (one would think) relegated Evra to back up, making Buttner surplus.

With what seems to be his pretty poor English he probably would say that.

When he came up with his man of the match stat, does he not realise the matches are televised?

I think that people are a bit unfair on the kid. He was brought as a cheap cover who wouldn't mind sitting on the bench and allow others to play and that's exactly what he did. He's nothing different from the likes of Jordi Cruyff, Rai Van Del Gouw and the recently crowned (by MUTV) legend....Quinton Fortune.
Pretty much this. Add to that that he was always very complimentary about our club, showing great dose of respect to our legends and so on, and played very well in the first match against Bayern.

You could probably count the amount of left backs that have got the better of Robben this season on 2 fingers, Buttner was one of them.

Football eh ?

Just scored a decent goal from 20 odd yards for Dinamo against Spartak. I think he's found his level.

Edit: Nevermind, it was disallowed.
