Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up starting the season at Newcastle still.

I’ve seen Suarez beg for a move in 2013, not get it and then have an incredible season before getting his move a year later.

It sounds like we have the money available though.

Newcastle have had a mare too.

They had ages to convince him they were a serious team and spunked the budget on Elanga
Not great for Elanga either. Probably signed thinking he'd be getting bags of assists and goals playing with one of the best strikers in the world. Now he'll be lucky if they can re-sign Callum Wilson from the free agency.

There's no way Liverpool drop quarter of a billion on Isak and Ekitike.

That's just a silly waste of money. If they thought they were getting Isak they're not blowing £90m on that Frankfurt kid.

I’d give my left but for us to sign him. But he wants to go up the ladder not down it.

I agree with this, it's why its confusing that Isak has come out now with the wanting to leave talk. He's got a club lined up and I don't think it's Liverpool.

He's either after a massive contract pay rise or he's going PSG or something.

It's going to be Saudi Arabia PSR shenanigans to fund Newcastle a bit.

Isak's fee and wages for 5 years will essentially be a quarter of a bill. £150m + £350k a week for 5 years.

If Liverpool hadn't brought heavily already then fair enough. But I cannot see how they can commit to Isak as well considering the wages and transfers they've already laid out. That would be over half a bill.

The economics of this makes me feel it is only possible for PSG or a money wash tactic with a Saudi club.

It’s not, no, but I am sure his signing raised eyebrows with the likes of Isak, especially at that price. They haven’t really moved on or gotten better since they signed him and their initial clever recruitment appears to have ground to a halt.

I think they will. Ekitike can play off him and on the left. He is extremely versatile.

They will end of selling Diaz for 70, Darwin will end up going for similar and will get the likes of 30-40 for players like Elliott and Jones.

They will easily pay for all of this. The Woodward era has fecked the club here. We cant get a decent fee for anyone and are going to be left behind unfortunately.

Just saw the news that Isak has asked to leave Newcastle. Hes absolutely a Manchester United striker in waiting. We been stuck in the wilderness for over a decade and this is the kind of statement signing we need. Come on INEOS, activate whatever financial levers we can (Barca style if we must) and get it done. £130m fee and £300K/week is worth it. Isak gives us that spark, that hope we been missing for years. If we sign him, I genuinely back Utd to win the league even with the flaws we still have elsewhere in the squad.

Isak and Ekitike both can play from the left so it might work out for them but hope they implode.

It reminds me a bit of when we shock bought Andy Cole from Newcastle back in the days where they were briefly our direct rivals and he was breaking records.

Garnacho uses the phrase "howay the lads" a lot in interviews. Maybe we can use him and some money to tempt Isak.

They have Gakpo and Wirtz for left wing (if they sell Diaz). Also lots of players CAN play on different positions but you don't spend 100 mil on a player to play him out of position (well, unless you are Man Utd).

What's more hilarious is that Bayern are going to fund this by buying Diaz for 80m Euro. A signing that no Bayern fan wants as well, they'd rather go for Rodrygo or Leao.

People are living in cuckoo land if they think there's even a 1% chance we'd sign him
We don't it's more just wishing for him to go anywhere but our arch enemy, however sadly it looks to be falling on deaf ears for every other club

It was only a week ago that Newcastle fans were dreaming of Ekitike partnering Isak for them too!

It’s hard to believe that some people genuinely think we are an option. Reality hasn’t set in for some.

I mean with Cunha and Mbeumo besides him and a Bruno behind we would look very good on paper and a project to sell. Would need Ratcliffe to inject a lot of cash though

Gakpo is the obvious casualty (or let's say rotation fodder) as a result right? He's already rotation fodder with Diaz.

Everyone in here knows we are sat in stands watching on wishing we weren't run by leeching scum

remember when Klopp once said Liverpool can’t compete and put up the prices that city and we do for players. Now there buying the league

Liverpool with possibly the greatest transfer window of all time if they get him.

Nothing will get close to Real Madrid 2009 - Xabi Alonso, Benzema and 2 most recent Ballon d'Or winners Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo! Plus a few others came in like Albiol.

Already bought the league, be staggered if they don't become first team to win quadruple with that squad
