BB has a good atmosphere no doubt but is too busy for my liking - Tollgate is my recommendation, for West Ham there will be a Jstand gathering there and then a match to the ground so will be a good atmosphere to start the season.
Thats where im heading fellow Jstander!

The Quadrant on the end of Kings Road is good too. Classic old-school pub - players used to drink in there in the 60s.

So any regular Sam Platts reds here? I've been going there for the past few seasons for most games, and now that's it gone, need a new place to drink pre-game which has a solid atmosphere. Any recommendations? Is the BB the best option?
Red Square is still going and probably nearest drinking establishment to where Sam Platts used to be.
Not been for a couple of seasons so can't comment what it's like now. Used to be ok...

I quite like Hotel football. Not as lively as Sam Platts or BB but quicker to get into and quicker to get served as well.

Is there some sort of statistics to be seen how likely it usually is to get a ticket from the ballot vs. City or Pool for example?
Not that I'm aware of. I applied for City, Liverpool and Spurs last year and only got Spurs but i've had better luck in past years. Complete luck of the draw.

Apologies if the t0p red remark offended you but your original post was out of order. People who don't have season tickets aren't just Joe bloggses as you suggest, they still support the club. I've been going for 27 years and would have my own season ticket if I was still living in Manchester.

I'd be happy to accept a lower priority for away ticket ballots due to my non-ST status, and would also happily pay a membership fee to compensate for my lack of an ST. The fact that I can't apply at all is what seems crazy.
It's not out of order at all @JohnnyKills , as proven by the multiple comments from other posters backing up my point.

You simply can't have a "lower priority", that's the entire point, the club are hugely oversubscribed (by thousands) for every single away game by season ticket holders and executive members. Thousands upon thousands of these people apply for every single away game and are lucky if they are successful more than once in a season.

I guess you haven't quite understood how it works hence why you thought my post was "out of order"?

Here's an example of one of my many "chubbed" emails from the club:

A total of 9,211 tickets were applied for, but we only received an allocation of 2,750 tickets from Leicester City. 14% of these tickets have been allocated to Executive Club Members, with 30% of executive applicants being successful for this fixture.

So that means, after the execs, 7928 season ticket holders applied for just 2365 tickets, so 30% of applicants were successful for this fixture.

So where does this membership priority you spoke of fit in? It doesn't mate, that's the thing. The club would require at least 6000 more away tickets per game in order to make away games available to members or general public.

@Regulus Arcturus Black. Spot on. Unarguable for our level of club really.
I see the ticket scuffle disputes for my league 2 lot, and it's a lot different there, you CAN have these secondary priority groups, as usually the first lot don't over subscribe versus tickets available.

Most of us accept it's the way it is. Take me, I opt out of the league cup and Europa. Come Cup final days, or away day ballots I miss out. Simple. I don't deserve a ticket over those who have gone through the rounds in those cups, and that's spot on.

Yes, someone may have held season tickets for yonks, but you have to reward the current season ticket holders over them, as they are the now.

On another note...am expecting October/Nov tv games to be announced on Friday, if the list of dates posted a while back is true!

I bought a ticket for every home cup game last season (including League cup & Europa), and I still missed out/couldn't even apply for a final ticket as I didn't go to a single Euro away these past 2 seasons.

I was gutted of course, especially as I live in bloody Stockhom but it was a fair way to do it and I think the guys with all cup games and Euro credits deserved it over me.

Thankfully the legend that is @Rory 7 sorted me out on here for the final with a ticket in the neutral end.

Do you travel in for every game from Sweden? Or have a good network of pals to take the tickets!?

Don't know but thinking back to the last three seasons (can't remember any further back), we had no tickets from ballots in 14/15, got tickets for all ballot games but Arsenal in 15/16 (although, after initially missing out in the ballots, we only got City and L/pool after being called by the ticket office when they had returns) and last season we only got Spurs.

they say the tickets have to be for him - if he's caught buying them for someone else he could lose the season ticket. Is there any way of getting round this? Seems ridiculous!
If your dad is happy to collect the ticket with passport should united ask him too then why wouldn't he apply?

No one checks the paper ticket once your at the ground or inside.

Read your other comments also, I wouldn't want anyone under Silver getting into the ballot it's bad enough as it is.

United have employed someone to actively hunt down any ticket reselling on social media and forums. Their job is to penetrate networks.

Do not fool yourself into thinking this is only for big touts, they will ban anyone they can find including on here so be very careful speaking to newbies in particular.

Remember, you are touting your ticket even if it is face value. The rules state you do not own the ticket and you can GIVE but not SELL it.

I've got a few mates from Sweden I've got to know over the years and we regularly meet up when they're over here for games.
Was great to all meet up in Stockholm for the final.
They're mainly from Stockholm and Norkopping.

I'm having trouble purchasing tickets from the official website. Every time I select 2 tickets, it says I can only purchase one. It doesn't even bring me to the basket to re-assign one of the tickets to a different member. How can I purchase 2 tickets with seats that are together?

Try signing out, adding the 2 tickets to your basket and then it will prompt you to sign back in. You will then be redirected to the basket where you can reassign the tickets.

Didn't work. Seems like they're only releasing 1 seat at each quadrant right now which is just ridiculous. I've spent an hour trying to figure this out, the whole ticketing experience on their website seems to have been designed by a 10 year old.

I know someone that used to run a very popular Twitter account that retweeted tickets for sale at face value. He was asked by United to stop doing so. Don't understand what their problem is. They have already been paid for the seat and can't resell it if the ST owner can't make the game.

Looking for 6 tickets to the Spurs game on October 28th. Will be impossible to get them together but even 3 pairs would be great.

If anyone is selling, please let me know.

Yep you are 100% right.

I always thought it funny the warning on this thread -

Touting will not be tolerated on the site

yet face value is touting according to United LOL

The worry I think for the club @DuncanEd @robinrooney is that selling it online means you don't actually have any idea who you are selling it to, and therefore have no control. You could be selling to a banned hooligan or a tout etc.

They know people sell for face value to mates etc and I'm sure they are fine with that despite what they say in the T&C's.

They ban first and ask questions later.

I have seen many banned because of fv and even under fv over the years, most get overturned on appeal with the help of Amanda Jacks (who is fantastic) but they do get banned and miss a few games.

A certain superfan who travels the world (apart from Rostov) was banned for ticket touting at face value to mates not so long ago. The ban was reversed.

Now in saying all that, there is a blind eye to a lot of it you are right especially on match day. There is this myth that face value is ok and you are immune from a ban. It isn't and you aren't.

All I would urge especially with this latest employment is to be very careful face value wont protect you.

So far away I get up 4am to just watch Utd on TV
Looking for a ticket to the Utd vs Leicester match on the 26th for my nephew, a 5th Generation red, son of my youngest sister born & living in Canada but in the UK, landing in Southampton next weekend. He's working as the "sound man" and recording specialist for Daniel Romano who some of you younger music enthusiasts may be familiar with? It their 3rd of 4th annual tour through Britain and Europe.

Anyway, he would take two tickets and take a Canadian friend (maybe Dan or other band member) but would love any single ticket to watch the game.

Please let me know with even the slimmest of leads - PM or on here

So happy you are winning so far keep the fight going. I'm similar but not with such good odds. I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer I got told last Friday 2-3 months at best I'm 40 and two kids so still devastated for them. I've been a season ticket holder for a season and this year also I have 2 (me and a mate) my boy asked me if we can still go to old Trafford this season he's only 8 so I'm trying to go to the Leicester game I'm going to contact the club see if I can get two more tickets for my wife and wee girl also so the four of can go as she would need to be there to help me. Hopefully the club can get us sitting next to each other. If anyone can help I can obviously offer them any game as a swap as I won't be going to anymore unfortunately x
Posting this here in case someone is able to help.

Champions league draw next Thursday then? So probably, as per @Token Sheet , the October/November tv games sorted too?

Noticed that the United site has pencilled the 3 homes games in on certain Wednesdays. Presume that's merely to show what games are coming for tickets, rather than having any sort of tip off that we're certain game weeks at home?

I did clock the possible "Nightmare" scenario of 3 homes in 8 days! That'd be fun to sort :)

Got a few questions about the memberships.

So me and a friend want to actively go to 9 or 10 matches this year. Last year it seemed all tickets where sold out instantly for the full season.
This season seems to be a bit different so any idea on how it's working this year?

Most matches on the website seem to be 'more tickets available soon'
Do they release a decent amount?

Cheers

Anyone here that used to go to Sam Platts for pre drinks? Where do you go now? Surely Bishops can't take all the traffic, and the Trafford bar is just boring innit?

Exactly the same story as last season @Igor Drefljak. "All" tickets were released to members when the fixtures came out with the exception of Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool & Spurs of course, however, the club always get a tonne of returns from members, season ticket holders, Thomas Cook and the VIP zones too so they release these "extra tickets" closer to the game.

Thanks for the reply. I took out a membership today as I will be hoping to go to quite a few games.
With back experience, do you know how long before a match these extra tickets get released just so I can play my working days

I've asked to be informed for all matches so will hopefully get quite a few
