@Ober tan @LennonNL thanks lads. I've ended up joining my local supporters club branch, got tickets and travel sorted for Basel and Everton.

I bought 3 Basel tickets on Friday and then changed seats later that same day. Lass on the phone said the move was alright, I got a partial refund and the tickets have just arrived this morning. The thing is, they have sent me tickets for where I've moved to AND the old seats as well. So I have 3 spare tickets, I'm not sure if they're valid or not. Would be willing to give them for free on here if they'll be valid still.

EDIT: Just rung up and they confirmed the previous tickets won't be valid

So I guess you went for different seats rather than your friends bottling it like you said via PM to me... no need to lie - could have just said!

Nope, situation changed after I'd messaged you and tickets had to be located elsewhere.

I will be travelling for Stoke game in January for my birthday. What's my best bet for tickets? I will need 4 of them and likely won't be able to get them through normal sale, right?

£700 sounds a bit steep, looking at doing it for about £500 now club will pay my visa costs
I wont be on the mainland night before the game with work so I have to pay for a flight to heathrow and a hotel night before moscow flight (which was booked before I was sent away with work).

If you have 4 memberships then you might get them direct from the club - otherwise you check on here and Twitter/FB ticket groups nearer the time

Did anyone have problems with the turnstiles rejecting them last night? My card flagged red and the steward said it was probably because I hadn't paid for the game which I know that I did as I have the email and text confirmation from the club.

Ticket office said that the card is fine and to go back and try again. They did say that there were problems with the turnstiles and that the stewards know about.

Read later on Twitter that stewards were just waving people through that were being rejected

Trying to understand how for a second you actually thought the original tickets would be valid

Presume you have a membership card rather than a season ticket? As you wouldn't be able to opt out of the latter?

That was fun last night wasn't it! Queue took ages!, and I heard a couple in the same boat as you. Even worse for them, they'd had the wait and search, and then a trek to the ticket office, and then another queue and search!

I've always been a little paranoid about paper tickets from cup game moves, or cup games loaded to tickets failing! Only happened to me once, at the semi final in 2011 v Schalke. 2 sets of paper tickets failed, 2 trudges to the ticket office, and just about got in for kick off.

But back to yesterday, they need to get those searches moved through quicker, if i had the time again i'd have not bothered collecting the season review, and eating outside :)
Missed the music! Set off from not far you near Slough at 2.10pm!

Their computers made a feck up.

Useless bastards the ticket office. Useless IT system.

Did anyone see the queue outside the ticket office? My mates missed the 1st 15 minutes of the game. The 'biggest club in the world' need to sort out their IT systems, the ticketing page online and security. I say security because how the hell did the Basel fans manage to get flares inside the ground?

What's the best way to get 2 tickets to the Liverpool game next month?

I'm in London with my wife for a week -9th to 15th October, and was hoping I can catch this game at Liverpool.

I live in India and haven't seen United live yet, and am hoping I'll be able to watch this game. I know it will be hard to get tickets to this one without paying a fortune, but any help will be appreciated.

Is there any recommended website / portal I should use to get these tickets?

You are looking £250-300 minimum a ticket on the day, with it maybe dropping to £175-£150 as kick off comes.

If you buy from a website you'll pay a hell of a lot more because the site adds on it's own fees. Ticketbis will get you tickets.

You could not have picked a worse game to try and see but equally your dates kinda limit you.

They will do soon they accept their whole system is shocking. I feel sorry for the staff in there it is a poor setup and employing temps with no training to man the phones does not help either.

Also they have done it before where they turned season tickets red on purpose so they could see who was actually using them and banned a few people that way as it was found the people actually using them paid for them.

Foregin fans in england get away with murder. Police and stewards scared shitless of them.

Yet we had a lad with a smoke bomb in Swansea away fined £785 quid and banned three years so cannot attend any matches or be in any town united play. One smoke bomb.

There was another MUFC in europe done for picking up a flare from the ground and waving it about. I forget the game now but I remember seeing him do it.

EDIT *Wasn't Wolfsburg there was feck all there but a VW factory, christmas markets and a Hilton. There was a fish market at the top of the street if I recall maybe it was PSV?

Then you see 200 Fenerbache walking down the streets of london every man a flare in his hand, even chucking them as they go past an Arsenal pub being escorted by london police!

That's interesting. I got to the card reader and it basically ignored me. I'm used to the green light appearing straight away. I looked at the gate steward and then the green light appeared. No idea if I got buzzed through by him, or the system really did eventually respond to the card.

can't agree with you more! International break is coming at the wrong time for me. Hoping I can get something more reasonable on the pricing, but - the bigger question right now is, how do I get my hands on the tickets outside of the websites? Isn't waiting for the last day a big risk - or is it normal for tickets to be available on the last day? Also, my flight back to India is on the morning of the 15th, so it is worth traveling up to Liverpool and back (Friday to Saturday) unless I have confirmed tickets to the game in my hand?

I reckon you have a less than 5% chance of getting tickets to the game unless you are prepared to pay £400+ per ticket. I know of LOADS of season ticket holder/regulars at away games that didn't get tickets in the ballot.

*edit incase united have spies on here*

Go to the brick pub (everton pub) or the Thomas Frost and you will get a ticket or if you mill around the away end before kick off you will certainly find someone.

Anfield is a shit hole anyway, one of the most boring aways for me. The crowd at the main stand to the right just sit there smiling and taking photos of the krayzee United fans giving them dogs abuse. Stewards are cnuts as are the police then the dicking about to get back to lime street takes nearly an hour after the games over.

The last good away end there was the mata golazo where the lockin after was full of chanting about Slippy G.

I'll have your ticket then mate.

Always the best away, as it means more there than anywhere else when we score.

Agreed that others are better for drink up etc.

I got Liverpool in the ballot for the first time, and I'm fecking away for it!

Sorry, it's already got a deserved home.
That's a massive shame mate! Only been successful once - for the Europa game a couple of seasons back. Hopefully you get there next time.
