Reinforcement rules:
  1. Reinforcement order starts at the top.
  2. One pick per drafter - GOAT switch can take place in addition (either first or second pick - in case of second picks, snake goes reverse).
  3. All non-GOAT first & second round picks from the original teams are blocked.
  4. If managers pick up an available GOAT, they have to drop theirs. All unpicked & losing team GOATs are available. Dropped GOATs immediately become available for everyone.
  5. Each drafter can change GOATs only once in this RR.

There was some incredible attacking talent available, but they would have been tactical downgrades to my current options.

Instead, I have chosen a superior representation and upgrade to ROBERTO ROSATO:

Roberto Rosato - "A strong, hard-tackling, and reliable centre-back, he is regarded as one of Italy's greatest defenders. A powerful, consistent, hard-tackling, and tenacious man-marking centre-back, Rosato is regarded as one of the greatest and most complete Italian defenders of all time, due to his strong performances throughout his career. In addition to his tough, determined, physical, and aggressive style of play, he was also extremely composed and elegant on the ball, due to his notable technical ability and balance; he was also known for his commanding influence on the pitch. Rosato was frequently known by his team-mates and the media as "Angel Face" (Faccia d'Angelo) under manager Nereo Rocco, due to his delicate, handsome physical features, which were thought to contrast with his determination and ruggedness on the pitch."

FABIO CANNAVARO:

3. Fabio Cannavaro. 385 points

Fabio Cannavaro is one of the very few defenders that won Ballon d'Or. What makes it even more special, he is the only stopper ever to win one — while Beckenbauer and Sammer got a lot of credit for their playmaking and participation in the attacking phase of the game, Cannavaro got it for one thing. Defending.

His performances in the 2006 World Cup were really second to none. He played like a man possessed, making countless clearances, tackles and interceptions as if he knew what was going to happen 2 minutes before it actually happened. Italy was hit by multiple issues — first, there was the infamous Calciopoli, then their best defender, Alessandro Nesta, got injured in the group stage... well, Cannavaro, or Il Muro di Berlino" ("The Berlin Wall"), as he would be known after 2006, didn't care about that.

As a defender, Cannavaro was known in particular for his concentration, anticipation, awareness and positional sense. Despite his relatively small stature for a defender, he was highly regarded for his aerial ability, courtesy of his elevation, physical strength, athleticism, timing and heading accuracy, which enabled him to outjump larger players, and made him particularly adept at defending crosses, or at scoring with his head from set-pieces. Throughout his career, he made a name for himself as a dynamic, consistent, tenacious and complete defender, known for his acceleration, speed, reactions, and agility, as well as his tackling ability, and in particular, his precise sliding challenges. Due to his wide range of skills, he excelled in a zonal marking system, but was also an excellent man-marker.

“Cannavaro has been the most accomplished defender at this World Cup (in 2006). He has been the only permanent member of Italy's ever-changing back line. He has been imperious. Rigorous. Absolutely in charge. Standing tall at 5ft 9in, he is dwarfed by just about every other centre-half in Germany, yet he has risen serenely above them all, seemingly without a bead of swe

Looks like no GOAT change for anyone - wouldn't expect it anyway, but I'll make the SF draw in a couple of hours. If anyone still wants to switch, please say so.

An all-time upgrade to PIERINO PRATI that is needed against my next opponent:

"A talented and opportunistic player, with an eye for goal, Prati was capable of playing anywhere along the front-line, as a striker, supporting forward, and as a winger. At Milan, he was often deployed on the left wing due to his pace, technique, distribution, and was also known for his powerful and accurate shot from both inside and outside the penalty area, as well as his ability in the air"

"Prati’s versatility to adapt to the game – both at the start and in-game when the situation arose for him to do so – was arguably his best attribute. He had the pace and dribbling ability to play out wide. He had the aerial ability to take advantage of crosses. He could shoot with an accuracy that meant he rarely ever missed the goal, generally forcing the opposition goalkeeper to at least have to make a save. He had a keen sense of finding an open space in the final third and could either make diagonal runs inside from the wide position or hug the touchline and make the pitch big, which allowed his teammates more space to penetrate."

HRISTO STOICHKOV ('91 - '94) - Ballon d'Or-winning complete forward who enjoyed one of the greatest peaks in the 90s... adding more pace and power to our attack. Stoichkov swaps out Laudrup-Romario for Zidane-Batistuta. An explosive goalscoring/creative dynamo that will 1) help stretch our opponent's back four with his pace and dribbling ability 2) create space for Batigol & Zizou 3) provide fluid movement with Zidane-Batigol-Figo 4) can cross/pass/get on the end of Figo's crosses & Zidane's through-balls 5) run the channel/get in behind/work between the lines 6) a powerful counter attacking lethal weapon 7) offer tenacious pressing 8) execute powerful/accurate shots from long-range and delicate finishes in the box.

"Stoichkov was a quick, creative, tenacious and prolific left-footed forward who was primarily deployed as a striker, but was also capable of playing in a creative role, as an attacking midfielder, due to his ability to provide assists for teammates. He was also deployed as a supporting striker throughout his career, forming a lethal strike partnership with Romário at Barcelona, and occasionally he played as a right winger during his time at the club, although he was also capable of playing on the left or through the middle. In his early years he also used to play as a left full-back. A powerful, physically strong and technically gifted player, Stoichkov was known for his explosive acceleration, and his dribbling ability at speed, as well as for his tendency to take unpredictable, powerful shots on goal. The top goalscorer at the 1994 World Cup, he was also notable at taking free-kicks and penalties, as well as being a very good crosser and passer of the ball. Manager Dimitar Dimitrov described Stoichkov as "one of the greatest players of all time" in 2006, and as a player who had "a winning mentality."
""That season Romário and Stoichkov were a force of nature, blowing everyone and everything to bits." — Football writer Sid Lowe on the strike partnership at Barcelona.

Oh well, and Favre bored everyone to death at Dortmund and was fired.

I don't think results should matter too much. Building a team around a philosophy or a tactic should be the idea. I mean, with a GOAT or two and a few great players, a Chris Wilder team might take the world on and win. To me the tactic has merit.
