It’s sickening but not surprising to hear about employees of ”security” companies abusing their power or worse. I’m even more bothered that the police didn’t seem to care more or at least help a young man solve an obvious problem. If they’d have at least de-escalated the situation, it may not have gone as wrong.

I hope evidence is found, and people are punished accordingly.
I don't understand why they didn't. At first when they come over yeah it might look like a young lad is causing trouble when the gaurds talk to the Police. As soon as the lad explains he works there and is just trying to get into work, why was it an issue? Surley the police could have escorted him into the place and spoke to whoever was in charge. All just seems shockingly handled, even by his manager.

For those sympathetic to this kid, what's the best way to communicate with club to insist this receives full and neutral investigation?

Disgraceful behaviour. Hopefully these thugs are dealt with accordingly including anyone withholding information.

I'd go with the email addresses for supporter feedback and MU brand protection. Although the latter is probably more for copyright infringements, the conduct of an organization's third party service providers can have a significant impact on their reputation and brand.

Two bit club spokesman : "we are doing the bare minimum that we are required to do by law"

What do you mean by "optics"? What more can they do with the police now involved?

I’m hoping there’ll be a conviction. CSG will sacrifice someone to avoid losing face
Yeah hopefully. Thing is if the club put the CCTV forward and the original story was its not available, that maybe suggests the police werent that bothered about chasing it up.

where to start...

Perhaps reach out to the kid, let him know he still has a job or that they will be covering any medical bills / lost time from work due to the incident... say that this is alleged behavior is unacceptable... maybe not take 2 weeks and a national newspaper story to take action and perhaps not ignore things and try and sweep them under the rug... give the kid tickets to an upcoming match (if they ever have one)... don't hire racist thugs to work in security, or perhaps tell companies that they subcontract to that they shouldn't hire racist thugs to beat up employee of other companies they subcontract to... have a better verification system so that they can tell who has legitimate reason to use an employee entrance on match day wearing a uniform of the company that does work in the ground.

That would be a little more than the bare minimum.

But how do we know these things haven't happened already? I'm not saying your wrong, but with the police involved, usually there is less media coverage until the investigation is over.

Thanks. Will write to them. Thinking this through, the boys story seems 100% legit, and that makes me feel fcuking angry.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think he would’ve done this and why?
We all know why people like Wade get into absurd arguments like this and it's the same reason these thugs felt compelled to harass and abuse this poor kid. It's the same reason threads like this always end up getting hijacked by scummy contrarians who swear they're just playing devil's advocate.

United should cut all ties with this firm.

Absolute disgrace how CSG came out with that official statement without being 100% certain.
Which in itself shows an underlying tolerance of this sort of behaviour.
