Now's your shot Altay. If he has a good game today he should stay in net against Lyon.

Newcastle 4:1 Man Utd
He played how I expected. He's not great and there's a reason he hasn't played as much despite onana making mistake after mistake.

He is not good on the ball, quite a few dodgy passes today other than the one that gave away the goal.

Just not convincing.

I think Ruben was just making a statement that benching Onana isn't an option now.

People like to say that Onana's distribution is shit, but no, this is what actual shit distribution looks like.

Two new keepers needed in the summer...

Better in the air and looks more natural as a keeper than the clown. But my God is he bad with his feet on the ball

Clearly at fault for the fourth goal. The other three were bad defender mistakes that everyone from Lev Yashin to Allison wouldn't have saved.

Ironically was thinking he'd done quite well till the football is fourth goal but he just didn't get enough lift.

He’s made a mistake in pretty much every appearance that’s why I haven’t been too fussed about Onana being dropped. Unfortunately neither of them are much good.

Oh hes still shite then, who would have thought

Onana, for all his many faults, is much better on the ball than people give him credit for.

Genuinely there's no way he'd make the mistake Altay did for Newcastle's fourth. He is really good on the ball under pressure.

The issue is, he'd probably have fecked up elsewhere and let in another soft goal, so we really can't win

EtH had to be a Scouse double agent. To leave us with Onana and Bayindir is next level incompetence, to the point it must have been deliberate sabotage

I know that there is some divide in the forum about how important it is for a keeper to be able to handle a ball with his feet. I do hope however that we're mostly in agreement that whatever the minimum necessary ability threshold should be, Bayindir is below it. For a top league keeper (even a backup) he is just so remarkable bad with his feet. It's really a shame, because I don't think he's that terrible a keeper otherwise.

At least his blunder came when the game was already gone.

Tim Howard, Roy Caroll situation all over again (and they were both probably better keepers than what we have now)

Exactly. Nothing he could have done for the first 3 and make some decent saves and punches along the way. But yes, obviously poor for the 4th

His distribution/long passes felt bit odd/light during the game and then that mistake for 4th goal confirmed it. Other than that it wasn't bad but think we need 2 GKs this summer.

I'd still start him midweek.

Other than the fourth goal I thought he was showing some things I liked.

The fourth goal is totally unacceptable obviously but we don't have a keeper to replace him with who doesn't make frequent mistakes. At least he claims crosses and I trust him a bit more as a shot stopper.

Just let Yoro take all his kicks.
