Explains why he hasn't been given more game time despite Onana's calamities.

Hope we can find new clubs for both of them.

How have we managed to put together the two worst goalkeepers in the league. It's miraculous stuff.
It is ridiculous. Question now is which two keepers we get next season? Not sure if we can hope that Onana is a good enough and cheap option as a no2 for us.

People shudder when there is one mentioned at Southampton and cheap but how could he possibly not be an upgrade?
Because he’s another one who is going to make a mistake every few games. There’s a reason why Arsenal got rid and we should not make the same mistake again.

That's not true though is it? They got rid for someone they decided was better on the ball.

Raya isn’t just better on the ball. He’s one of the most progressive keepers in the league when it comes to coming off his line for crosses.

I wouldn’t even put Ramsdale as one of the top three goalkeepers for England.

Pretty terrible. I hope we have better luck signing goalkeepers in the summer.

Out of the hundreds of capable top flight goalkeepers across Europe, how do we end up with this oaf and Onana? We would literally have been better off by closing our eyes and picking at random.

Murtough madness

I keep saying this but we need to sign Joan Garcia. Not an expensive signing but a very solid keeper. Only young aswell

He is possibly one of the worst players we have ever signed, in terms of actual talent - and I'm going back four decades here

It's baffling. Its shocking. It's beyond comprehension, that this man could ever have been identified by someone in the United recruitment team as a United player.

From De Gea, Romero and Henderson to this pair.

You could cry.

3 league games in 2 years, the first one being in december. meaning, he barely experienced the EPL, always rusty. even if he was decent before, that's long gone now.

but I don't mind him tbh, he's a backup GK. in ideal world, he never plays because our first GK is never injured.

surprisingly, it just happens that our first GK trully is always available so that part of the plan is working fine, regardless of the fact our first keeper is Onana.

Liverpool honestly have 3 keepers better than any we have. How are we so bad at scouting what must be the easiest stuff in the world

He likely doesn't get another match next season unless we draw someone like Barrow in the cups. Onana is who we need to focus on replacing.

Worst keepers and worst strikers in the league, you're never gonna get very far when that's the case

From the little that has been mentioned about his plans in the media I think he wants to leave for the chance of first team football at another club. It also tracks with the reporting that our recruitment focus in this area is on a strong number 2 to challenge Onana rather than buying an outright starter.

Nah he has to go too. There's no reason to keep him. This is where we have to be ruthless
It's not about being ruthless, it's about priorities and cash.

Unless we're promoting a backup from within, he stays, because spending more money on a back up keeper is just wasting money we don't have.

Agreed.

Didn’t we have quite a few good goalkeeping prospects signed over the last few years and loaned out?

The issue with going and buying a foreign backup keeper, they never get enough minutes to get adapted to English game and then when they get their chance they aren’t ready.

To think we once had the best keeper in the league in De Gea and arguably the best keeper 2nd keeper in the league with Romero at the same time.

Now we’ve got these 2 clowns.

We will always have that Arsenal game

I think Onana is better than him, and that says it all. Absolutely useless.

Anyone got an angle of the incident that shows the ball wasn’t in his hands prior to the Villa player kicking it? Sure looked from what I’ve seen he had both hands on the ball and the Villa player kicked it from them?

We need starting GK and backup GK. Do think we'll sell Bayindir, keep Onana and but 1 GK to maybe take starting place from Onana.

Don’t mind him? Haha cost us against spurs with two howlers and dropped a ball rolling at his feet yesterday

Can we actually buy a 2nd choice GK that can challenge a really poor number 1 GK in the summer ? I personally don’t think Onana will be sold

Maybe that's what we actually did, it's the only way to explain it.

He's not as awful as everyone makes out because his shot-stopping is good, but I'm at a loss as to why you can't watch him for five minutes and say he doesn't have composure issues. Look at Olsen in goal at the other end and consider how calm and composed he was as a second-choice coming in for Martinez. That's what you want in the event of having to deputise for your main guy instead of another mad hatter between the sticks.

It's also where I disagree with everyone saying we need a second keeper who can challenge. We don't! We need a solid first keeper and a smarter, more experienced second one. It rarely works out well when you have two keepers who are competing against each other, except in the extremely rare situation we had when Romero was good enough to stake a claim against De Gea. No top team is rotating their guys like that. Chelsea did it last year but they've stuck with Sanchez this time and it's worked in their favour.

I still don't know how he managed to feck up holding onto a ball that's rolling with 10 km/h.

Worst two sets of keepers I can remember.
