Great to see. Hopefully he's fit enough to help us past Bilbao.

Does that mean he makes the bench at least for Thursday?
Realistically I'd say tomorrow is too soon, and plan would be to stay at home for further training, get a run out on sunday and start the second leg.
Yeah, to be fair that sounds like the safer option.Realistically I'd say tomorrow is too soon, and plan would be to stay at home for further training, get a run out on sunday and start the second leg.
I'd agree if he travels then he may aswell feature, otherwise he'd be better off staying at home for further training. Just seems unikely that he'd board a plane later on the same day he returns to full training for a game tomorrow, after a long term injury where he's returned ahead of schedule. Would love him to be ready though as we desperately need him.We simply don't know. If he travels he will feature I guess, and having him for last 10-15 minutes could be crucial.
For pretty much every other match this season I'd agree but everything hinges on this tie. Maybe we'd be better off saving him for the next leg though. It's a tough decision and I don't envy Amorim for having to make it.I'd agree if he travels then he may aswell feature, otherwise he'd be better off staying at home for further training. Lets hope, he doesn't follow this mindset. I totally understand, why this match is so important for most people on here but no result is worthy of risking the health of very young player who comes back from an injury. It simply isn't and I'd say, if we force it, it reeks of desperation and it'd be another sign, that we arrived in a small team mindset. For pretty much every other match this season I'd agree but everything hinges on this tie. I'm sure he'll be fit enough to play for 15 minutes. If it's confirmed he is fully healed, which by being in full training it will be. Then he just need to work on his full fitness. 15 minutes ought to be absolutely fine. For pretty much every other match this season I'd agree but everything hinges on this tie. I think it's just about having him as an option for the worst case scenario, since we have ZERO attacking backup. It's not like he'll be taking the place of anyone important.Lets hope, he doesn't follow this mindset. It must be possible to go to fecking Bilbao and keep it compact and come back with a decent result where even a 1-0 loss wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Amad is not essential for that. This should not be his first match coming back.
No I know and I agree but I'd still try to avoid it. Especially for the worst case scenario. If we are cruising then I'd say it could be fine to give him a run out for the last few minutes but a high pressure match is not the right place to "get some match sharpness", give him time against Brentford on Sunday. The home game against Bilbao is where it counts and where it would be great to have him. For keeping it tight to go away with a non-damaging result, he isn't essential.I think it's just about having him as an option for the worst case scenario, since we have ZERO attacking backup. Quite the opposite in my opinion. If we're cruising we absolutely don't bring him on, he's anyway the kinda player who takes a lot of tackles and it would be a needless risk to take.No I know and I agree but I'd still try to avoid it. Fair enough, not that I wouldn't understand where you are coming from but this is what I meant with the desperation part. If we have to bring on a 22 year old in his first real season after a week long injury break to be the saviour for us, I'd say we almost deserve him suffering a setback. But I know that a lot of people on here put a different meaning to Thursdays game than I do. Lets see how it turns out in the end.Quite the opposite in my opinion. Now say we are maybe 3 goals down, I would defo get him on for the last 10-15 to at least maybe pull one back.
Was watching the highlights of his hattrick against Southampton last night. Missed his intensity for sure.

He's in the travelling squad yeah, but so are Obi and Mantato, as we're doing an extra training session out there on Friday morning. He's travelled apparently. 30 minutes off the bench tops I reckon.
Depends on what he's done behind the scenes. Amorim so far has been very cautious with returning injured players and expect him to continue being that way. He said in the presser that Amad and De ligt aren't ready to start but can contribute mins.Is he actually ready to travel? seems too early for him, he needs couple of training sessions under his belt
That's great to hear, indeed we don't know what they have done behind closed doors, and it's kinda great to have both in the bench.Depends on what he's done behind the scenes. It's good that we shouldn't need him to start the second leg, can spend a few more games building up fitness.
