This guy is ridiculous, touch wood there are no new issues before the end of the campaign.

Hope people realize he is better as a ROM than RWB. He is such a threat and needs to be near to the goal.
Scored most of his goals under Amorim at RWB and not R10

Im so happy we have another player alongside Bruno that can make me so happy and excited to watch.

And its so obvious to see the quality he has compared to our other attackers.

If he can start and finish the next two Europa League games then we will win it.
I'd probably not start him to be honest. We should be able to progress without him and would prefer if we gave him 45 minutes in the second half rather than the full 90.

He's a brilliant player, the gulf in quality between him and our other forwards (excluding Bruno) is humongous.

I doubt he starts on Thursday, may be a bit soon after his return, and Amorim will probably want to stick with a winning formula from the first leg.

Nor do I think he needs to start, we should get the job done without him.

Big decisions for the final though because it either means we abandon the more defensive wing backs and play Amad RWB, or Garnacho gets dropped. Garnacho is just picking up a bit of form so it may feel harsh. There's some chance Ugarte gets dropped in favour of Casemiro-Bruno midfield, but I think that would be a mistake having so little running power and physicality in midfield.

We need both Amad and Garnacho playing in the EL final, we should not be playing with 2x defensive WBs.

Yeah, right forward in a 4-3-3 is the best fit for him, just lets him be a goal threat instead of being deep so often.
He routinely picks up the ball on the edge of the box when playing RWB. The idea when we’re more settled as a team is to have at least 1 really attacking wing back, basically a winger. That will suit him to a tee

He's better at rwb in this system, I think his ideal role is as a right winger in a 433 or 4231.
He's better receiving wide having the option of busting either way than receiving centrally were it's more crowded.
Ideally we should play with three forwards three midfielders and 4 defenders. So one of the forward play as a wingback and the other as a 10.

Yeah I don't think the post you're replying to is accurate at all - under Ten Hag he had a few opportunities as the right winger, and ended up isolated quite a lot. He's a great RWB in this system as he can use his passing and ability to beat a man to move us up the pitch, and it means there are teammates he can interplay with when attacking in forward positions.

Agree. You want him running at the defense with some speed, and combining with team-mates further up the pitch. That when he’s at his best (even if with his spatial awareness and execution, he can probably play anywhere across the attack to a pretty decent level).

He's great at RWB. More importantly, having him there transforms our attack. There's other options at #10 but no other wingback has the impact Amad does when he plays there.

This. The team is better with him at RWB as things stand. I really hope we are going into the market for Both WB positions

The only logic I question with Amad is…why did he sign a contract with us? Honestly, he could do so much better. Bruno aside he’s light years ahead of the rest.

Nothing changes except Amad starts for Maz and Maz to be moved to RCB. Yoro to LCB.

Amorim seemed to start off with Amad wing back early in his reign and moved away from it. We've also reached the final playing full backs at wing back. I'm sceptical Amorim is going to move away from a winning formula in Europe and play a bold attacking line up vs Spurs who we've shipped a lot of goals to this season.

I love the fact that he's performing at a top level even after being out for, what, 3 months? Most players need some time to get going after being out injured, but Amad just plays like he was never sidelined. He's a fantastic player and I'm delighted he's with us for the long term.

I think that's coincidence. He's a great player regardless of position, but I prefer him to be closer to the goal as he's able to create goals out of nowhere. If we get a more attacking RWB, this will allow the two to rotate during the game.

17 goal contribution in like 2400 minutes of football, If he is fit for whole season will get 30+ comfortably. As for his best position, he is quite clearly right sided wider player call it forward or winger or whatever new term that is coined. You take lot out of his game playing him in that inside number 10 role and wouldn't want your best attacker running back tracking the opposite wide player for 90 minutes.

The ‘winning formula’ has been in spite of the defensive wing backs in my opinion. So far this whole season they haven’t provided either extra defensive solidity or creativity.

We struggle to score enough goals playing 5 at the back but we still concede plenty of goals, so we may as well play attacking wing backs or at the very least one.

Or we could sign someone like Mbuemo and have a great right side.

I've always been very sceptical about an inverted wing back playing behind an inverted attacker on the same side.

Not having a player who can overlap and cross with their strong foot seems suboptimal.

I agree. They’ll both want to be doing the same thing and occupying the same position.

Amad goes on the outside at RWB very often

The point being, what Mazrauoi did vs Bilbao for the penalty/red card for example is what we'll be missing. A player overlapping and crossing on his strong foot, one of the most reliable ways to create chances in football.

With two left footed players on the right we don't have that. The balance of the team will be suboptimal.

He is quality no doubt, just needs to improve the most important ability…availability.

He missed 26~ish games last season and 14~ish games this season due to injuries.

Please please please stay fit for the EL Final

I don't know if he'll improve in that area, but defensively, he was completely switched off during two of Brentford's goals. That's another reason I think he should primarily play as a R10.

The guy is only back and he's delivering more than 90% of his teammate have for months.

He asked the club to pay 100m euros for a winger, he had to force that winger in his team otherwise he would look stupid.

In the end he looked stupid anyways!
Nothing I hate more than manager's that are unable to accept their mistakes and just play the best players.

You see it quite often, a huge money signing will repeatedly be given opportunities they don't deserve after a certain point just because they came with a big price tag, instead of the squad just be evaluated as a current collective.
