If you are convinced that Amad is not playing second fiddle to anyone, why do you not see Mbeumo as a wing back then? Or is that supposed to be Amad’s preferred position or something? Both players are forwards, have always been forwards. I think we need more than one quality player coming in there, and I don’t think it’s impossible that we have a 3 for 2 places in that role, with players like Cunha and Mbeumo also being able to play as centre forwards, and Amad seen as a wing back option.

I think the reality is that whenever Dalot has been fit and available, he has generally been Amorim’s first choice RWB (since Dorgu came). I imagine he will not be sold, and I expect him to be the first choice again this coming season. Amorim could have played Amad there against Spurs last week, but opted for Mazraoui in this role that you guys are claiming that he sees primarily as an attacking role instead. I can’t see it being his default position.
100%. Also Amad has yet to prove that he can stay fit for the whole season.

The way i see it, it's like Fergie having a young CB playing as fullback. Thus they're adapting to the team play, without putting too much burden on them.

So Amad as RWB is for him learning about attack but with more space and time available, as oppose to a 10 on area that pretty congested, where less time is allowed to make decision. He'll also learn about the defensive side of the game.

I'm not worried about Amad on where he plays. It sucks that we play 3-4-2-1 but I think he will eventually be a more complete player and shine.

A video of him giving the middle finger to the fans in Asia. What was that about?

Seems unprovoked from the video I saw, just people shouting his name maybe after an autograph? Bizarre behaviour from a 'professional'. Christ this club, what a mess.

There are unverified reports suggesting that fans addressed him by his second name, ‘Diallo’ which he finds triggering because it reminds him his past as a victim of child trafficking. But even so, the finger wasn’t necessary.

Supppsedly debunked in the post season game thread. Apparently it's Traore that's the name he dropped.

But let's spread them anyway, just to be on the safe side, eh?

Apparently it was someone insulting his mother. And feck them, I'd be happy with any player giving the finger to some cnut that does that.

Christ, we all worship a guy who actually assaulted someone. Give your collective heads a shake.

If that’s true which I have no reason to believe it’s not then I definitely stand with him.

Surely you don't think he just casually walking past fans and flipping them off unprovoked? Bit stupid thinking.

Why would he be triggered by someone calling him by Diallo....a name which he chose to keep over his original name of Amad Traore?

So he just posted the following on X:

I have respect for people but not for the one who insults my mom…

I shouldn't have reacted like that but I don't regret what I did.

We had a great time in Malaysia with good people❤️

All I had to go off was the video, which didn't show any evidence of provocation. He's posted since that someone was insulting his mother I think? Fair enough to be pissed off in that case, though I'm not sure reacting to it in front of the press is the best idea. But he's young so hey ho, no big deal.

Sorry for being bit stupid thinking

Even if he just came out giving the middle finger to everyone in sight for absolutely no reason at all, on the list of both club problems and unacceptable behaviour from one of our players, this would still struggle to make the top 100.

Eleven players have effectively been holding up their middle fingers to 75,000 fans every other week for the past season.

I shouldn't have done it but I don't regret it. Hmm.

Our recent history of indesgretions from current and former players includes the following:
- assaulting women
- allegedly assaulting women
- alleged rape
- sleeping with their brother's wife
- voodoo blackmail
- crashing their sports car (multiple instances including ones serious enough to result in a suspended jail sentence)
- driving bans (various offences)
- going on holiday and getting arrested and then fighting with all of the police
- Literally being banned from football

Relatively speaking, sticking a middle finger up at some people doesn't really register that high on the noteworthy scale to me.

How about insulting your kids, just like people did with Gerrard in the past? Would giving it be acceptable?

Yeah that's a bit weird
Not weird. He knows it's not the professional thing to do, but the guy he did it to was obviously being an asshole.

It's sad our fans were doing similar shit to Foden when he was at OT. Talking shit about someone's mum is asshole behaviour.

The entirety of Old Trafford was calling Foden's mother a slag a couple of months so we can't say much next season when fans try to wind him up with mother insults.

Edit: As Clone mentioned above.

Go on Amad, let the people who like to present themselves as decent in public while they aren't keep talking down on a clear and obvious disrespect that needed to be shut down right there and then.

If it’s true that someone simply called him by his other name, Traore, then I very much doubt it would have been malicious and aiming to hurt him, probably just an honest mistake / lack of knowledge about his past and reasons why he opted to keep the name Diallo and not Traore.

I think it's a tiny bit different when it's opposition fans clearly on the wind up...but also it's still hilarious/ridiculous that there would be any level of outrage if Foden had reacted by giving something back.

Football fans/media are among the most precious and childish things in existence.

Such a weird thing for fans in Malaysia to abuse Amad when Man Utd is on a pre season tour.

Must be Liverpool fans.

Without full context, if the fan insulted his mum I can understand why he got angry and reacted. That being said as a professional for Man Utd he has to conduct himself in the right way and shouldn't have let it happen. I don't think it's a huge issue but the club should give him a fine for unprofessional conduct and then move on.
