However things didn't go according to plan and Arsenal only grew in confidence after their second goal especially. Now I think Amad should've started. Our starting attacking line was blunt.

The point he’s trying to make is that we rather see his full attacking potential than to see his full RWB potential.

For me, the way he won the ball back out wide vs Everton on so many occasions was a sign of things to come from Amad at RWB. I don't think his attacking potential will be stifled in too many games under Amorim as the expectation is that we will be the dominant team in the majority of games.

He had some pain after the Everton game that made it clear he wouldn’t atart this one. It was also sensible enough playing with the setup we had in the first half, as it was controlled, 0-0 and 2-1 in opportunities for Arsenal, none conceded from open play.

Malacia’s yellow and the fact that Amorim quickly caught on that he’s a hothead who’s a liability on a yellow, forced our hand.

It’s ‘unfortunate’ that Arsenal stepped up after 2-0, while we became disjointed and went to pieces basically, Amad hardly saw the ball after that and was constantly off with his movement, like anybody else in attack really at that point.

Every time the ball goes out to them they have opportunities to attack the space and create 1v1 situations which Amad is great at. In the front 3, the space is more congested and he would be marked much closer.

I presume it was due to the tiredness and cramping he had towards the end of the Everton match. It was probably felt that he could only play 45 minutes of this one, and Amorim chose the second half. In hindsight it probably would have been better to have him in the first half while we were having decent possession and control, but obviously that's easy to say with the benefit of hindsight.

Of course, it does raise the question of whether we should have taken him off earlier in the Everton match.

He played the full game v Everton so it was unlikely Amorim had any play to start him last night.
Of the 11 players that started last night only Onana and Dalot played the full 90 mins Sunday

Amad is a victim of his own success, not a fan of the way he's being managed. Because he's surprised most people and adapted well to a position he shouldn't really be playing on paper then he'll potentially be stuck playing there indefinitely. He's our best attacking player, he shouldn't be spending most of the game defending his back post. He'll have good games but I'm convinced we'll get far more out of his talent if he's played in attack.

Amorim has talked about him also being able to play as a #10. My hope is that once we have our defenders fit we see Amad being given a run in the attack.

Long term perhaps the RWB might even end up being the best position to use him, but that would require us signing the right player or players to play #10 ahead of him. Having good players there and also having Amad attacking from the right might be better for the team as a whole than having Amad in the attack with a different RWB. Will be up to his performances in both position and how Amorim wants to set up the team. But for right now with our lack of attacking options it does feel like we'd be better off with him playing as a 10 and getting on the ball in attacking areas more often.

I think Mazraoui would be good there, and then Amad would be an improvement on whoever we have as one of 10s because then we'd be able to play passes between the lines without fear of inevitability losing possession.

A 10 with the ability to keep the ball under pressure and dribble will bring a new dimension to our attack.

There's also a reason I said before we signed Antony that people were overrating him as Mazraoui was the one dominating the right flank. He's very good on the ball, and will still bring an attacking threat there.

Amorim is doing loads for Amad development - first and foremost giving him A LOT of playing time on a regular basis. Something that never happened before.

To add to that, Amorim is very obviously using Amad in a position where he brings a lot of value to the team (contrary to some bald charlatan, who used to play Maz as CAM and McTominay as CM, while disregarding Amad altogether)

We don’t have left footed on right to pass to him. Rashford was sent in to do that but it didn’t work out at all, or say in another way, he failed to do it.

I initially thought this too, but we will lose much needed width as none of our other players or wing backs can dribble past anyone and it's crucial for Amorim's system.

Not just out on the left but actually cornered by opposition players and space, making him less influential. Get him into a more central attacking position and he will cause more havoc for the opposing team. It seems United has a disease of managers who make very strange and idiotic decisions.

He is so restricted playing the role currently shunted completely to one side asking him to hold the width, he is still doing so good that he is the best player on the team. Give him freedom to come inside and go outside and make things happen. If there is one player that needs to be asked to hold the width is Garnacho and he is playing on the role that doesn't suit him at all.
