Needs to work on his passing. It’s either underhit or overhit. But was a constant threat today and played similar to what he did last season.

He does a lot of good things and he does try so credit to him. His passing and touches can often be off though and he starts a few counters for the opposition when he’s in our half. A lot of people like him as a wing back but I still don’t really see it.

My biggest disappointment of the season so far

He was our most dangerous player, second only to Mbeumo. Yes, he should have scored, but he played well and got us the penalty for the win.

Weird to be highly critical of him today

Really weird. I thought he was good today. Very important too considering the dross he served up midweek

A bit sloppy with his passes but apart from Mbuemo, he was our biggest attacking threat once Cunha was out.

He also links up well with everyone playing on the same side as him. He just needs to remember how to shoot again.

Missed a big chance and still not hit the ground running this season but I thought he was a little brighter, on the whole, today.

Mixed performance, his end product just isn't there but technically very good, good movement as well for the penalty. We are a better side with him for sure but he has to bury his chances.
Agreed. His finishing needs improvement

A bit of sloppiness in the final third. Poor attempted through ball when both Dalot and Mbeumo were through. Also missed a very good chance. Generally though, positive performance and a threat.

He has some sloppy moments for such a technical player, but he’s also so clearly one of our biggest threats and it feels like him and Mbuemo were on the same page much more today.

Weird people are so disappointed with him. He missed the sitter but also almost scored a screamer with a brilliant volley. Fine margins.

He seems to be very much a one-half player. He was good in the first half but was almost anonymous in the second until the penalty.

His final ball and shooting has just been a bit off so far this season, but it’ll come. He’s still a threat and still links play nicely with others. He needs to keep starting so he can get into that bit of form in the final third.

Honestly, I was really enjoying his performance….then I couldn’t believe it reading the match thread and he was getting slaughtered.

Had a slow start to the season but today he looked much better, yes he should have scored but besides that he had a good game.

When he, Cunha, Bruno and Mbeumo are on the pitch and used to each other, I reckon we’ll carry more threat than we have in a long long time

Much better today than any other time this season.

Amorim must have had words because he noticeably abandoned his stop and pass back routine which he has been applying with aplomb this season. Constant threat.

He dives a lot doesn't he?

Much better today than midweek, think moving forward if he is going to play wing back he needs to work on his crossing, you can see when Mbeumo drops out there he is a much better crosser of the ball, Amad doesn't really have much passing range at this stage.

Him and Mbeumo will be a devastating combination once it beds in. Power, pace and skill.

Agreed. I like their combo on the right. Will only get better too

I expect more from him as I really rate him.

He was still a threat and should have scored yes, but poor general passes and lack of concentration at times letting the ball go out of play. That’s twice this season.

He's a young player, we're going to get a mixed bag at times. He should have scored, but he also won us the pen that gave us the win. Massive improvement from the Grimsby game.

Was at least trying to link up with Mbeumo today, which was positive.

Very wasteful in good positions, but he's very talented and still young so hopefully can get a bit more effective

Proper mixed bag today. Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit.

His linkup with Mbeumo and Cunha looked promising, those 3 are quality players. I have no concerns about any of the 3 of them as they are the level that we should have in the squad at the very worst.

Good game, but how is he missing that chance? Thought he always has a cool head on him in front of goal so hopefully not catching the virus.

Going against the grain i dont fully see it with him. He does some good stuff but the end product is rarely there. I think another season and he'll be off to an Everton or a West Ham.

He’s a massive threat. Big fan

Feels like he has gone backwards.
Make up your mind lads. Peak redcafe. As always the truth probably lies in between but there’s good reason for it as he’s being played out of position. Play Salah at LWB and see how effective he is. Not every player is going to be a John O’Shea, some players simply have a clear preferred position.

I feel a lot of people watch football from a black and white lens wherein if a player scores he’s had a good game and if he doesn’t - it’s slaughtering time. I feel this is the reason why GA ratios are so prominent in football discussions now.

He was a livewire and gave them trouble all game. Do you know how hard it is to have a defensive set-up when you’re playing against Mbeumo and Amad in this form? Again, yes he should have scored, but he's hardly the first or last player to squander a chance - that doesn't mean he had a bad game and/or that he regressed. In fact, this was a performance to take encouragement from - especially with the recent talk of him and Mbeumo occupying the same spaces and/or having the same ideas.

He was involved in our interplay, and in at least 3 goal chances - then carved the pen for the win. Most managers would give you an iron handshake if you'd told them their wingback would put up one of these. But I guess the missed chance makes a stronger impression in the mind, I don't know. I just don't get how people don't see today as a positive from him

Amad should be more of a team player. He shoots when its best to pass and passes when its best to shoot. Played well in 1st half then disappeared in 2nd half until the last 15mins

That’s alot of words. I’ve a pint to drink. Amad needs to do better - he has all the skills and attributes.

Sounding like a certain Argentinian

I didn’t think he had his best game ever but kept going until the end and won the penalty. Great player to have in the squad, always a threat.

And he misses a fair bit. All he needed to do was keep it down

Complaining about words on a forum? I didn’t even reply to you, mind.

Saying this was a positive performance isn’t mutually exclusive with thinking he can do better. As stated, he was wasteful.

Go enjoy your drink, man.
