Hopefully benched with Cunha back. He needs time out the team.
Attempting that scissor kick again... Yeah

Very bad start to the season from Amad. He constantly takes to many touches and when he finally releases the ball he seems to choose the wrong option almost every time.

He's had a really rough start to the season, and no you can't blame the system. Playing at WB or 10 instead of on the wing doesn't rob you of your ability to make the kind of simple passes he was fecking up today.

People here missing what he brings off the ball. How often did he win the ball? How often does his pressing stop the opponent? He wasn't horrible or dreadful. He wasn't good enough today with the ball but everything else was good.

He needs a stint on the bench. Brain dead decision making
With Mount and Cunha back fit, I think he will be. In his defence though, even in his poorest games he's full of energy, presses and tracks back (not always effectively) and looks to make things happen. He's not in great form and has probably suffered from playing 3 different positions this season, but I think he's actually a very intelligent footballer.

This is the lingard defense all over again, doesn't matter how much you running around off the ball might add to the team, you are in the end a net negative if you don't actually do anything on the ball and he has been absolute gash in all games he has played this season.

Disappointed with him. Dorgu was somehow more of a threat. But I'll say that once he moved to RWB, he showed great desire to press. I think that is his best position now.

He holds on to the ball for far too long each time he gets the ball. Keep it moving. Frustrating player because of the talent he has.

Always few touches too many. He had chance few times today to play simple pass to player in front of goal but he delays that pass.

Great pass out to Mazraoui for the first goal.

Odd game to try and judge him overall.

Bit of a mixed bag. Had some decent contributions helping out winning the ball, but was frustrating with his final ball

0 key passes after playing over 80 mins against 10 men. Granted Mbeumo also had 0, but was a threat to scoring a goal and got the red card with his run

There's a player with magnificent close control there, enthusiasm, and we need that, but that cool head decision making must be developed further.

New contract is clearly getting to his head, probably thinks he's a superstar already. What happened to the focused no nonsense player from last season? Accurate decision making, lethal in the box and disciplined throughout. He's begun this season with unnecessary acrobatics in the box and trying to dribble more than is needed.

Someone needs to remind him he's not playing for Instagram highlights, we have games to win. 1 or 2 better decisions in the first half and we're 4 goals up instead of two. He needs some talking to, we had a few breakaways against City last game where he was unable to deliver the proper pass. This isn't a case of him suddenly becoming worse, he's still got the ability buy he's losing his focus at crucial moments. It needs to stop.

Funny you mention Lingard because Amad reminded me of him during the game, missed everything offensively but ran and tracked back a lot. It shouldn't be enough for Utd.

Started this season poorly after being our best attacking player by a distance last season.

Young players will have ups and downs.

He needs to stop attempting that bicycle kick every time a cross comes in. Against City we put a great ball into the box and rather than just head the ball whilst completely unmarked 10 yards out he did this and completely fluffed his lines, same thing today when De Ligt played in a nice cross and he made a balls of it.

I'm a big fan of Amad but he simply can't be the option higher up if he's going to do this every time a cross comes in.

Playing out of position but I do think his level was inflated last year. It’s not that hard to see why Mbeumo was prioritised.

Not sure how he lasted 90 minutes.

Needs to start looking for Sesko or sit on the bench.

My favourite thing about Amad since he came along is that he was so sensible on the ball. Whatever the opposite of wasteful was, he was that. The guy never gifted the ball away needlessly. Everything he did seemed so logical and it was consistent.

This season its as if he's done a 180 on that. He's constantly making sub-optimal decisions and gifting the ball to the opposition.

I think he'll turn it around, its just not a very good start to the season.

All of these 'attitude problems' and 'getting to his head' comments are a bit odd. He's absolutely playing poorly but it's largely down to poor decision making and execution rather than effort, body language etc.

He should be taking responsibility but being moved to the left and then to play RWB all in the same game multiple times this season because our manager can't coach a midfield is not the answer going forward too.

Atrocious. I'm not sure how your level can drop so low after looking so promising. We've seen a similar story with Mainoo too, it can't be just a coincidence.

Magnificent player but Amorim needs to play him as RWB no matter who we play.. Left 10 is never his position

Out of form.

Doesn't need to be dragged into something it isn't.
Exactly this. I’ve seen enough of him to know the quality he has and what he brings to the team when he is firing. He’s got into the team the hard way through loan spells and seems a professional guy.

He absolutely isn’t one of the players we should be looking to move on, I’m amazed to see comments claiming they’d be ok seeing him go. Madness.

I don’t think he’s playing well at the moment, he’s clearly in a poor form but some of the comments are extremely harsh.

I also don’t see how he’s “bought onto his own hype” etc., he’s still running his socks off and plays in the exactly the same style, it just doesn’t come off successfully as often as it did in his previous season (or during his Sunderland spell).

We do need him and I do hope that he keeps getting enough game time.

Love him. Even when things aren't coming off for him, he's a threat. Puts in a shift too. Really good presser. Be it as a wing-back or as a 10, he's really important for us.

Thought he was horrible today. Doesn't really work on the left, and his crossing is atrocious. He's a really good dribbler and works hard but beyond that he needs to start showing some composure and quality when he makes a pass/cross.

It is difficult for the attackers when everyone knows United are void of any real goal threat.

So it must be easy for the players to take too many touches or be too gready.

As fans we just want it to click and hope a few goals can take the pressure off and collectively they can all relax.

Difficult start to the season for Amad but he should be allowed time to play through it.

This is just shocking and one of the reasons why our strikers don’t score goals.

Yeah it wasn't ideal, he did really well to win the ball but had to pass it first time.

We need to find the right balance of being patient getting onto dangerous positions then much more decisive once we do.
